For $10 and claiming to be the original, I'd rather spend that money on one that's improved. The line was short, almost deserted on a Friday lunch. I got a stea...k provolone with, and the provolone tasted like it's been sitting out for days. It made the entire sandwich inedible. I ate two or three bites and had to throw the rest out. I asked "locals" which place I should go, Pat's or Geno's. They said Pat's. I should have went to Geno's. Overpriced for a sandwich that didn't taste right. Maybe it was an off day? No thank you from them, just "$10.00". Eh. Not impressed. Would have given one star, but I did experience this place, so it got two. See More

Came up to Atlantic City from Orlando, FL. We decided to take and a day and come to Philly to do some sight seeing. First thing that came to mind was, I gotta... try a real philly cheese steak, decided on pats, seen them on TV, good reviews. I have to say that I was pretty disappointed, I got a whiz wit, and my girlfriend got a provolone wit. With all the hype that came with this place, my sandwich was ok, hers was bad, the provolone was not good. Next time I'll research where the locals go, many friends told me to go to tony lukes, I may try them in jeresey. See More

The best part of this place is that it is open 24 hours a day. Other than that, it is a tourist trap like genos across the street. Before coming to philadelphia..., do some research. Many better places to get a cheesesteak. I find it funny how left wing politicians come to pats to act like they know philly... And right wing politicians go to genos to act like they know philly. I only go to these places if i am nearby and starving at 4am or they are doing a charity event. They are great for charity events. See More

My bf got Geno's so we could do a comparison, Pat's was better. We got wit with cheez wiz. I love the concept of cheez wiz, but I didn't think it was very flavo...rful and the meat to bread ratio was off. I don't see what the hype is all about and it's 100% overrated. The fries were really good and I would recommend more than the sandwich. FYI it's cash only, so be prepared. See More

I don't know what all the hoopla's about. I'm from NY were we have the best food around. Pat's is ordinary at best with a unwarranted attitude from the workers! I guess when you don't know what good food is you would think Pat's is good food. It's just ok!

We stopped in for the nostalgia of it. Did the Pat's and Geno's challenge, and while both were pretty good, Pat's won out. Food was good, service was relatively quick. Not the best food ever, but it's good for fast food.

The food is excellent! The line, although very long, moved very fast.
I was impressed with their efficiency in getting their orders out quickly.
The atmospher...e feels like a neighborhood party, although I would not attend it at night. Parking is ridiculous. My advice park at the Independence Hall parking and Uber it everywhere in the area. See More

The original cheesesteak is still and will always be the best on Earth. I tried both Pat's and Geno's because of the rivalry, but I must say that Pat's reigns supreme in the cheesesteak wars!

Flew in 9:15 and was taken to Pat's first thing! Awesome food, had fun with people in line, joked about proper ordering (sorry our money wasn't ready) By the time we paid 6 wit' were up! Awesome experience, kids loved it. :) we will be back!

Ordered one whiz without and one provolone without also with fries, birch beer and a cherry coke. Each cheesesteak was $10, remember it is CASH ONLY! We parke...d in the neighborhood and walked over. There was line into the street but it went quickly. We found a table and enjoyed every bite. We will be back. See More

Four of us traveled from Knoxville TN to Harrisburg and being that close we knew we had to do it. We traveled 5 hrs round trip just to have your sandwiches 2 wi...t and cheese wiz and 2 wit and Provolone, Then we had to know witch was best so we went to Geno's and ordered the same, Pat's was best 4 out of 4. It was worth the trip. See More

I have had better ones in Atlanta, it was a total waste of time to stand in line for almost an hour to get something that was anything but original..... The lin...e took an Hour and the food was Shit and over priced. Had to change my review to One star. Because they have employees on here writing good reviews for them... See More

Delicious! Friendly, fast working and quick witted staff. I was in Philadelphia for business and was delighted to be able to try such a landmark establishment. It was a chilly night, outdoor heaters would have been great, but still an adventure!

It was good, it was so busy and they rush you through the line. If your unsure about what you want,, step out of line until you know. I wouldn't go back again

Didn't realize this was the famous place until I was in line, it was well worth it and if I'm ever back I will visit again.

Tried pats and genos. Pats was better for sure. Line was long but moved pretty fast. It wasn't spectacular by any means but it was good. Cheese fries on the other hand were excellent!

I finally got to tell Frank himself how I bring his @pats_king_of_steaks all the way to Malaysia! That's probably the farthest the cheesesteak has travelled. And that's all my family requests from Philly every time I go home.
