For $10 and claiming to be the original, I'd rather spend that money on one that's improved. The line was short, almost deserted on a Friday lunch. I got a steak provolone with, and the provolone tasted like it's been sitting out for days. It made the entire sandwich inedible. I ate two or three bites and had to throw the rest out. I asked "locals" which place I should go, Pat's or Geno's. They said Pat's. I should have went to Geno's. Overpriced for a sandwich that didn't taste right. Maybe it was an off day? No thank you from them, just "$10.00". Eh. Not impressed. Would have given one star, but I did experience this place, so it got two.

Came up to Atlantic City from Orlando, FL. We decided to take and a day and come to Philly to do some sight seeing. First thing that came to mind was, I gotta try a real philly cheese steak, decided on pats, seen them on TV, good reviews. I have to say that I was pretty disappointed, I got a whiz wit, and my girlfriend got a provolone wit. With all the hype that came with this place, my sandwich was ok, hers was bad, the provolone was not good. Next time I'll research where the locals go, many friends told me to go to tony lukes, I may try them in jeresey.

The best part of this place is that it is open 24 hours a day. Other than that, it is a tourist trap like genos across the street. Before coming to philadelphia, do some research. Many better places to get a cheesesteak. I find it funny how left wing politicians come to pats to act like they know philly... And right wing politicians go to genos to act like they know philly. I only go to these places if i am nearby and starving at 4am or they are doing a charity event. They are great for charity events.

My bf got Geno's so we could do a comparison, Pat's was better. We got wit with cheez wiz. I love the concept of cheez wiz, but I didn't think it was very flavorful and the meat to bread ratio was off. I don't see what the hype is all about and it's 100% overrated. The fries were really good and I would recommend more than the sandwich. FYI it's cash only, so be prepared.

I don't know what all the hoopla's about. I'm from NY were we have the best food around. Pat's is ordinary at best with a unwarranted attitude from the workers! I guess when you don't know what good food is you would think Pat's is good food. It's just ok!

We stopped in for the nostalgia of it. Did the Pat's and Geno's challenge, and while both were pretty good, Pat's won out. Food was good, service was relatively quick. Not the best food ever, but it's good for fast food.

The food is excellent! The line, although very long, moved very fast.
I was impressed with their efficiency in getting their orders out quickly.
The atmosphere feels like a neighborhood party, although I would not attend it at night. Parking is ridiculous. My advice park at the Independence Hall parking and Uber it everywhere in the area.

Ive heard so much about this place. I thought the steak was dry. And by the time i got fries and drink my steak wasnt hot.roll didnt taste nice and fresh either.. 2nd time i tried it and feel the same. Not impressed..

The original cheesesteak is still and will always be the best on Earth. I tried both Pat's and Geno's because of the rivalry, but I must say that Pat's reigns supreme in the cheesesteak wars!
