Pedestrian struck by car on Bruce Highway

Southbound lanes of the Bruce Highway near Caboolture have been reopened after a fatal accident on Monday morning.

A police spokesman said traffic is not too heavy, and should bounce back to normal shortly.

A 30-year-old woman is struck by a car while trying to cross the Bruce Highway near Caboolture early Monday morning. Nine News

The highway was closed near the Caboolture exit after the accident, which occurred about 4am on Monday.

Police believe a woman was struck by a car after she got out of her pulled-over vehicle.

She was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Woman's Hospital in a critical condition suffering multiple injuries, but she has since died.

A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a car on the Bruce Highway near the Caboolture exit on Monday morning.

Police believe the woman pulled over about 4am and got out of her car before being struck. 

She was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in critical condition.
