The website is kathleenr.zumba.com and my contact number is 0424301390. New Walkway along foreshore

Beachmere has got its southern foreshore back after renovations.
We now have an extended paved walkway that stretches north from the dog park and includes more stairs and a fishing/viewing platform....sheoaks and cotton trees.
Just the trick for a promenade.
Access via Kunde Street or Biggs Ave.

Beachmere Disaster Management Team

I've been involved with this project from the getgo and it is great to announce that we are finally away and the initiative is building momentum.

While the group is currently collecting information and reconnoitering scenarios, we do hope to have the beginnings of a clear community perspective ready for the beginning of the storm season in October.

For now the main thing is to raise community awareness and the Disaster Management Team will be having a stall at the Tree Day tomorrow morning in Clayton Park(10 am and 12 noon).

One of our intentions is to generate a local SES team so if you have emergency management experience (CFA for instance) or want to sign on for that sort of community engagement & training, come talk to the team tomorrow or email the Team Leader, Brett Greer, on dmt@bang.org.au.

And remember: please sign up with Moreton Alert. It's a communication system that will enhance our community resilience.

Here's a video explaining how and why.

Lacto Fermenting Workshop

I ran a lacto-fermenting workshop at home today under the verandah outback. Went really well --  krauts, do chua and  pastes.
Full on from 10 am.-- a'chopping and a'bashing and salting.
Jars exited  loaded with comestibles ...and in days and weeks to come: bon appetit!
On Thursday last I was teaching almost 100 local primary school kids how to make a simple salad. And you know what ? They even ate it!
We're planning more outdoor, garden based, preps like that.
I reckon the plastic bag, green salad spin is a show stopper.
