Somewhere in Hollywood, a high-powered movie producer has just awoken from peaceful slumber to realize that someone took his throwaway line about green-lighting a “Baywatch” reboot seriously.
Yes, a “Baywatch” movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron is inching toward a nationwide release, and the first full trailer for the slow-motion trainwreck was released on Thursday.
We wish we could say that the trailer tries to do anything interesting with the material, but instead of subverting the inherent problems with the “Baywatch” franchise, the two-minute clip finds most of its humor in objectifying women, while Efron and Johnson talk about their genitals.
Yawn.
“Baywatch” hits theaters May 19.
