Michael Kovak ist ein junger Mann, der kurz vor seinem Priestergelübde an seinem eigenen Glauben zweifelt und nun kein Diener Gottes mehr sein will. Um ihn umzustimmen, schickt ihn ein erfahrener Priester in ein Exorzismus-Seminar in den Vatikan. Doch erst die Begegnung mit dem erfahrenen Exorzisten Vater Lucas bringt ihn dazu, sein eigenes, vom Verstand regiertes, Weltbild zu hinterfragen und sich selbst auf die Jagd nach dem Teufel zu machen.
Mikael Hafström inszeniert den unweltlichen Schrecken des Exorzismus-Horrorfilms mit düsteren Bildern voller Stimmung und Spannung, einem dichten Drehbuch und ungemein gut agierenden Schauspielern. Neben dem Newcomer Colin O'Donoghue ist es vor allem Anthony Hopkins, der allein durch seine charismatische Präsenz den Raum mit Faszination und Angst erfüllen kann.

BBC Movie about Stravinsky's masterpiece 'The Rite of Spring' (Le Sacre du printemps) (1913).
In the spring of 1913, Parisian businessman Gabriel Astruc opens a new theater on the Champs Elysées. The first performance is the premiere of Igor Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring', danced by the Ballet Russes. The rehearsal process is extremely fraught: the orchestra dislike Stravinsky's harsh, atonal music; the dancers dislike the 'ugly' choreography of Vaslav Nijinsky. The volatile, bisexual Nijinsky is in a strained relationship with the much older Sergei Diaghilev, the Ballet Russes' charismatic but manipulative impresario. Public expectation is extremely high after Nijinsky's success in 'L'apres-midi d'un faune'. Finally, 'The Rite of Spring' premieres to a gossip-loving, febrile, fashion-conscious Parisian audience sharply divided as to its merits.

A rite or ritual is an established, ceremonial, usually religious, act. Rites in this sense fall into three major categories:
Christian
Within Christianity, "rite" often refers to what is also called a sacrament or to the ceremonies associated with the sacraments. In Roman Catholicism, for example, the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is one of the three that are sometimes referred to as "the last rites", because they are administered to someone who was dying. The other two are Penance and Eucharist (administered as Viaticum in the case of a dying person). Since the Second Vatican Council, Anointing of the Sick is administered to those who are seriously ill but not necessarily in immediate danger of death.

Anthony Hopkins
Sir Philip Anthony Hopkins, CBE (born 31 December 1937), is a Welsh actor of film, stage, and television, and a composer and painter. After graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 1957, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, and was then spotted by Laurence Olivier who invited him to join the Royal National Theatre. In 1968, he got his break in film in The Lion in Winter, playing Richard I.
Considered to be one of the greatest living actors, Hopkins is well known for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor, its sequel Hannibal, and the prequel Red Dragon. Other notable films include The Mask of Zorro, The Bounty, Meet Joe Black, The Elephant Man, Magic, 84 Charing Cross Road, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Legends of the Fall, Thor, The Remains of the Day, Amistad, Nixon, The World's Fastest Indian, Instinct, and Fracture.
Along with his Academy Award, Hopkins has won three BAFTA Awards, two Emmys, and the Cecil B. DeMille Award. In 1993, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to the arts. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003, and was made a Fellow of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts in 2008.

Method Man
Clifford Smith (born March 2, 1971), better known by his stage name Method Man, is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. He took his stage name from the 1979 film Method Man. He is perhaps best known as a member of the East Coast hip hop collective Wu-Tang Clan. He is also one half of the hip hop duo Method Man & Redman. In 1996, he won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group, for "I'll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By", with American R&B singer-songwriter Mary J. Blige.
Method Man has appeared in films such as Belly, How High, Garden State, The Wackness, Venom, Red Tails and The Cobbler. On television, he and frequent collaborator, fellow East Coast rapper Redman, co-starred on the short-lived Fox sitcom Method & Red. He also had a recurring role as Tug Daniels on HBO's Oz and Calvin "Cheese" Wagstaff on the HBO's The Wire.
In 2012, The Source placed him on their list of the Top 50 Lyricists of All Time.
Early life
Born on March 2, 1971, in Staten Island, New York, Smith divided his childhood between his father's Long Island residence and his mother's home in the Park Hill section of Staten Island (colloquially known as Killa Hill). He has two sisters, Terri and Missy.

Colin O'Donoghue
Colin O'Donoghue (born 26 January 1981) is an Irish actor and musician known for his role as Captain Killian "Hook" Jones on the TV show Once Upon a Time, and his role as Michael Kovak in The Rite.
Early life and education
O'Donoghue, the son of Con and Mary O'Donoghue, was born and raised in Drogheda, County Louth, in a Roman Catholic family. He attended local schools, and later The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin. At age 17 O'Donoghue went to Paris for a month to learn French.
Career
O'Donoghue's early career was mainly split between theatre and television work in Ireland and the UK. In 2003, he won the Irish Film and Television Award for "Best New Talent" for his role as Norman in "Home For Christmas".
In 2009, he appeared as Duke Philip of Bavaria in an episode of season 3 of the Showtime historical-fiction series The Tudors. He made his Hollywood film debut alongside Anthony Hopkins in the horror thriller film The Rite (2011). He made an audition video for The Rite in a friend's home studio in Drogheda and sent it to the United States. He plays guitar and sings in a band called The Enemies, formed in 2003 in Ireland.

BBC Movie about Stravinsky's masterpiece 'The Rite of Spring' (Le Sacre du printemps) (1913). In the spring of 1913, Parisian businessman Gabriel Astruc opens a new theater on the Champs Elysées. The first performance is the premiere of Igor Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring', danced by the Ballet Russes. The rehearsal process is extremely fraught: the orchestra dislike Stravinsky's harsh, atonal music; the dancers dislike the 'ugly' choreography of Vaslav Nijinsky. Michael Kovak ist ein junger Mann, der kurz vor seinem Priestergelübde an seinem eigenen Glauben zweifelt und nun kein Diener Gottes mehr sein will. Um ihn umzustimmen, schickt ihn ein erfahrener Priester in ein Exorzismus-Seminar in den Vatikan. Doch erst die Begegnung mit dem erfahrenen Exorzisten Vater Lucas bringt ihn dazu, sein eigenes, vom Verstand regiertes, Weltbild zu hinterfragen und sich selbst auf die Jagd nach dem Teufel zu machen.
Mikael Hafström inszeniert den unweltlichen Schrecken des Exorzismus-Horrorfilms mit düsteren Bildern voller Stimmung und Spannung, einem dichten Drehbuch und ungemein gut agierenden Schauspielern. Neben dem Newcomer Colin O'Donoghue ist es vor allem Anthony Hopkins, der allein durch seine charismatische Präsenz den Raum mit Faszination und Angst erfüllen kann.

In the spring of 1913, Parisian businessman Gabriel Astruc opens a new theater on the Champs Elysées. The first performance is the premiere of Igor Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring', danced by the Ballet Russes. The rehearsal process is extremely fraught: the orchestra dislike Stravinsky's harsh, atonal music; the dancers dislike the 'ugly' choreography of Vaslav Nijinsky. The volatile, bisexual Nijinsky is in a strained relationship with the much older Sergei Diaghilev, the Ballet Russes' charismatic but manipulative impresario. Public expectation is extremely high after Nijinsky's success in 'L'apres-midi d'un faune'. Finally, 'The Rite of Spring' premieres to a gossip-loving, febrile, fashion-conscious Parisian audience sharply divided as to its merits.
