Inline skating champ Corey Williams opens Mr Ristretto cafe in Lilydale

NEED to add some colour to your day? Pick up a multicoloured latte at Mr Ristretto in Lilydale.

The former Albert Hill Rd laundromat turned cafe has been given a new lease of life thanks to owner Corey Williams — an inline skating champion who has represented Australia — and his partner Kristy Marshall.

And the good news is you don’t have to head to inner Melbourne burbs like Fitzroy or Brunswick to pick up a rainbow latte — or any other colour for that matter.

MELBOURNE’S OTHER WEIRD COFFEE TREND

Mr Williams said the multicoloured cafe lattes, made using food colouring, were a real winner with the community.

“They taste unreal and look even better,” Mr Williams said.

“It’s a step outside the standard coffee.”

Mr Ristretto's bright coffee

Inspiration behind the name Mr Ristretto came from the super suave George Clooney “Mr Decaffeinato” in the Nespresso television advertisement, Mr Williams said.

RAINBOW COFFEE IS A THING

He said the cafe’s name referred to “the heart of any good coffee” a ristretto — or short black.

“We take a lot of pride especially with producing great coffee, great food and great service,” he said.

And for those with allergies or who would rather steer clear of dairy, Mr Williams said there were plenty of other milk options.

“We have 40 different options of coffee to cater to allergies and tolerances including coconut, almond, soy, lactose,” Mr Williams said.

“Our coffee is blended especially for our venue.”
