Thief steals knives from Aussie Disposals, Sunbury, threatens workers

A MAN threatened to stab two junior female workers in Sunbury with a hunting knife on Wednesday.

The two Aussie Disposals Sunbury workers were left shaken after the man asked to look at two knifes, which he then allegedly stole.

When inspecting the second hunting knife he allegedly told the women, “if anyone follows me you are going to be stabbed”, store manager Paul Carafo said.

“Both of our staff members were badly shaken up,” Mr Carafo said.

“This isn’t a bank or service station with a lot of cash, it’s not the sort of behaviour we expect to encounter.”

Mr Carafo said Aussie Disposals had made counselling available to the staff members and they would “not return to work until they feel fit to do so”.

The two knives were worth $500.

The incident occurred at 3.15pm on November 2 in O’Shanassy St.

The man is described as about 180cm tall, caucasian, and in his early-to-mid 30s.

Information to Sunbury police on 9744 8111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
