Résumé
Musicologica Olomucensia is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal founded in 1996 at Palacký University, one of the oldest Central European universities. The journal is intended for the musicological community. With historically, theoretically and analytically focused studies, the journal presents the results of fundamental scientific research conducted by members of Czech and international musicological institutions and high-level university students. In addition, the magazine brings news from academic conferences, reviews of musicological literature and information about ongoing research projects

Musicologica Olomucensia
Musicologica Olomucensia is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal founded in 1996 at Palacký University, one of the oldest Central European universities. The journal is intended for the musicological community. With historically, theoretically and analytically focused studies, the journal presents the results of fundamental scientific research conducted by members of Czech and international musicological institutions and high-level university students. In addition, the magazine brings news from academic conferences, reviews of musicological literature and information about ongoing research projects. The texts are published in English, German, Czech or Slovak; all studies are provided with an abstract in Czech and English. Scientific studies accepted for this journal are peer-reviewed by two independent reviewers. Musicologica Olomucensia is included in EBSCO and RILM databases.
Submission guideline
For the upcoming issue of Musicologica Olomucensia (December 2016) we are looking for articles discussing various topics in musicology, ethnomusicology, popular music studies and East European music studies. We welcome internationally relevant topics, or those which may contribute to the promotion of Czech music abroad. Please send your paper (4000–8000 words, including footnotes) to musicologicaolomucensia@upol.cz by 30 November 2016.

Lenka Křupková (1970) studied piano at the conservatory in Ostrava (1984–1990) and continued her music studies at the Department of Musicology of the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University (1990–1995, M.A. thesis On the Musico-dramaturgical Structure of Janáček’s Opera Věc Makropulos). She completed her postgraduate studies with her dissertation on The Chamber Works of Vítězslav Novák (2001). At the same faculty she studied journalism (1994–1997). Since 1995 she has been working at the Department of Musicology of Palacký University in Olomouc, where she qualified as an university lecturer (2009), she has also been a head of the department since 2012. Her main areas of research interest are Czech music of the 19th and 20th centuries, particularly the work of Vítězslav Novák and Leoš Janáček, Czech and European chamber music, sociology of music, music editing and the history of the German Opera in Olomouc. She has published a number of articles and three books – Studies of the Life and Work of Vítězslav Novák (2006), Vítězslav Novák – Universal Edition Vienna. The correspondence 1910–1935 (2007) and Opera in the German Municipal Theatre in Olomouc II. 1878–1920 (2012).

Jan Blüml (1980): Since 2014 he has been working in the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Musicology, Faculty of Arts, Palacký University Olomouc, Czech Republic. His main academic interest lies in the history of popular music in Central Europe with special emphasis on music in the former Czechoslovakia. He is also interested in progressive rock and aesthetic issues related to that genre.

For Contributors
Texts already published or accepted for publication in other journals or books will not be accepted by the editorial board. The peer-review process, the editing and the publication of articles is done according to the Musicologica Olomucensia ethics statement.
The text of the article should be accompanied by an abstract in English of some 10 lines (maximum 100 words), with three to ten keywords in English in alphabetical order, and by Author’s affiliation, address and e-mail address. Reviews of books and congress proceedings should present all necessary bibliographical data concerning the reviewed book, including the place and dates of the congress in question.
The affiliation address of the contributor should be given at the end of the article or review as well as an e-mail contact. If necessary, another contact address may be provided.

Style Sheet Rules
Submitted texts should be written in one of common text editors (doc, docx, rtf, odt), in the Times New Roman 12 font, line spacing 1; pictures and figures should be submitted separately in formats as jpg, tif, eps, and gif.
The Musicologica Olomucensia follows the Chicago Style Manual. The basic style guidelines can be found here.
