A muchos parece haber impresionado que hace poco los zapatistas, englobados alrededor del EZLN (Ejercito Zapatista de Liberación Nacional) y dentro de su participación en el CNI (Congreso Nacional Indígena) que llevó a cabo su quinto congreso, precisamente durante su 20 aniversario de nacimiento, hicieron un declaración conjunta en la que manifiestan, además de continuar con su lucha desde abajo y a la izquierda, participar articuladamente en hacer una deliberación en todas las localidades de los procesos adheridos al CNI. Esta deliberación será sobre lo decidido en este quinto congreso, además de escoger un grupo de personas que conformaran un Consejo Indígena de Gobierno, del cuál emergerá una mujer indígena que será candidata tanto del CNI como del EZLN para las elecciones mexicanas del 2018.
