A walking tour around the Science Museum in London. The museum was founded in 1857 under Bennet Woodcroft from the collection of the Royal Society of Arts and surplus items from the Great Exhibition as part of the South Kensington Museum, together with what is now the Victoria and Albert Museum. It included a collection of machinery which became the Museum of Patents in 1858, and the Patent Office Museum in 1863. This collection contained many of the most famous exhibits of what is now the Science Museum. In 1883, the contents of the Patent Office Museum were transferred to the South Kensington Museum. In 1885, the Science Collections were renamed the Science Museum and in 1893 a separate director was appointed.[2] The Art Collections were renamed the Art Museum, which eventually became t...

We toured the Museum of Science Boston. Not only did we explore the museum, but we were also able to interact with many of the exhibits. One of the museum's employees answered questions you asked us and took us on a behind the scenes tour of the lightning show. We got to investigate the inner workings of the world's largest Van de Graaff generator. Dr. Richard French gave a wonderful presentation explaining the past and future of the Cassini spacecraft orbiting Saturn. Dr. Richard French: (http://www.wellesley.edu/astronomy/facultystaff/french) Thank you to the Museum of Science Boston. On 9-26-15 at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, I videoed a unbelievably complete model version of Chicago’s buildings and landscape in H.O. Scale / Gauge Model Railroad RR train layouts. The main lines head West to Seattle WA, where there is a small version of those buildings in that City. Every area on the layout is complete. Many areas have buttons to push so Visitors can have an interactive experience with an area of the layout. The engines, cars, and scenery on the layout are of the highest quality, all add realism, and just a wonderful experience to view. This is just amazing! Enjoy.

Did you ever wonder who has the dream job of operating and maintaining the Museum of Science and Industry's train exhibit? William, the man who runs the railroad, takes me behind the scenes of one of the Museum's oldest and most popular exhibits, which has gone from running 2 trains at a time (a Santa Fe passenger and freight) in the 1960's to as many as 27 trains a day now. I never realized the beating this equipment takes in normal service, and how much of a problem vandalism by museumgoers is. People, for God's sake, don't throw coins and other objects on the tracks! (Shaking my head).
