The Alawites, also known as Alawis (ʿAlawīyyah Arabic: علوية), are an Islamic sect, centered in Syria, who follow a branch of the Twelver school of Shia Islam but with syncretistic elements. Alawites revere Ali (Ali ibn Abi Talib), and the name "Alawi" means followers of Ali (they are generally considered Ghulat). The sect is believed to have been founded by Ibn Nusayr during the 9th century. For this reason, Alawites are sometimes called "Nusayris" (Nuṣayrīyyah Arabic: نصيرية), though this term has come to have derogatory connotations in the modern era; another name, "Ansari" (al-Anṣāriyyah), is believed to be a mistransliteration of "Nusayri". Today, Alawites represent 12 percent of the Syrian population and are a significant minority in Turkey and northern Lebanon. There is also a population living in the village of Ghajar in the occupied Golan Heights. They are often confused with the Alevis of Turkey. Alawites form the dominant religious group on the Syrian coast and towns near the coast which are also inhabited by Sunnis, Christians, and Ismailis.
During a recent episode of his controversial Al Jazeera Arabic show ‘The Opposite Side’, host Faisal al-Qassem had another outburst, this time urging his guest - a militant leader in Syria –to exterminate the supporters of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, especially singling out the Alawite and Shia minorities. The militant leader, Abed al-Men’em Zain al-Deen, the so-called ‘General Coordinator between the Factions of the Syrian Revolution’, looked visibly taken aback as Qassem pressed him repeatedly on why the militant groups did not take the fight in Syria to regions which support President Assad. At one point Qassem fumed: “What don’t you go displace them and curse the ones who gave birth to them (exterminate them all)?”. Source: Al Jazeera Arabic (YouTube) Date: 13 September, 2...
More soldiers have been killed from Tartous province, homeland of the Syrian Alawite minority, than any other region in Syria. Despite the loss, families believe their sons' deaths are worth the price to defend the Assad regime. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (rahimahullah) said concerning the Nusayris (Alawites), among whom were some who expressed their kufr and heresy openly and others who made a hypocritical show of loving Ahl al-Bayt (the members of the Prophet's household): Undoubtedly waging jihad against these people and carrying out the hadd punishments against them is one of the greatest acts of obedience and most important obligatory actions. It is better than waging jihad against those mushrikeen and people of the Book who do not fight the Muslims, for waging jihad against these comes under the same heading as waging jihad against the apostates. Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq and all the Sahaabah started with jihad against the apostates before they engaged in jihad against the kuffaar of the people of the Book, fo...
Imagine just for a couple of seconds that your everyday life is burdened with horror and violence! How is the feeling? Yes, it is incredibly unbelievable. But, we do have the same thing in today’s real world!! In Tripoli, some 60,000 Alawites survive in Jabal Mohsen, a district built on the mountain in the center of the city. It is one of the poorest and most isolated areas in the whole of Lebanon. In this district, there is no contact with the rest of the city for fear of retaliations. The Alawites of Jabal Mohsen are mostly loyal supporters of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The conflict in Syria has led to an escalation of the armed conflict between the Islamic extremists from Bab el-Tebaneh, a neighboring district, and the Alawites from Jabal Mohsen. During the battles between Ja...

Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated July 16th, 2016 Alawites are our beloved brothers. Those who speak against our beloved Alawites are making a big mistake ADNAN OKTAR: Alawites are our beloved brothers. Those who speak against our Alawite citizens are making a big mistake, committing a big sin. They are stalwart, brave, lionhearted, blessed people, do not speak against them. They are our innocent citizens, we love them and they love us. Do not ever shout slogans or do something insulting against them, it is what provokers do. Provokers always try to find a new sinister way when they fail. Alawites are lionhearted, they are the assurance of Turkey, they are brave and stalwart. Don't speak against them. I don't want to hear a single word against our Alawite br...

The Iraqi Yazidi and Yazidism Religion - Documentaries The Yazidis, also Yezidi, Ezidi or Yazdani, are a Kurdish ethnoreligious group. They live largely in the Nineveh Province of Iraq. Additional communities in Armenia, Georgia, and Syria have been in decline since the 1990s as an outcome of significant migration to Europe, especially to Germany. Their syncretic religion, known as Yazidism and qualified by Mehrdad Izady as a sort of Yazdanism, has links to Zoroastrianism and ancient Mesopotamian faiths. Yazidis are monotheists, believing in God as developer of the world, which he has put under the treatment of seven divine beings or angels, the chief of whom is Melek Taus, the Peacock Angel, who, as world-ruler, induces both bad and great to befall individuals, an ambivalence reflected...

Look, simply said, I'm a pioneer of my area
Wrote my first line on some paper, I thought I'd share it witcha
I got a mic in 10th grade 'cause of a homie
Who didn't need it, I needed it 'cause I ain't have no money
To buy a mic of my own, I wasn't rich like the other kids
But my mama tried, she ain't doubt me like the others did
Made an account on MySpace so I can publicly
Share my mentality with others, all they did was fuck wit me
Lies on top of lies, all these comments used to fuck wit me
But I had someone at all times, I was luckily
Able to make a change in my game, I switched my flow up
Spit my first sick verse, felt like I had thrown up
I had the voice of a boy, I'm finally grown up
Got my name around but I don't feel like I am known enough
Glorification's my dedication in progress
Tryna be remembered, damn it's a long process
I hope my music will help me become a better man
'Cause there's so many things about me I don't understand
& if you think you know me then you got the upper hand
Cryin' to my grandma reachin' out for an elder's hand
I swear I was depressed when she left us
But God has kept me strong since she left, I'm glad He blessed us
There's only one thing that I regret
Not going to say good bye in the hospital 'fore she left
Every time I take step pass her door, I think see her
Maybe that's my conscious tellin' me that I now need her
However I'm happy that God freed her
I know grandpa was smilin' the moment that he had seen her
I know they're up in heaven & they're happy now
Life just kinda hit me really hard wit a crappy smile
How many people can tell you that they enjoy life?
