This hill is just so awesome as to require a clip all by itself. It also appears on Over Kirkby Malzeard Moor to Pateley Bridge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccer9Q_DTBw). I start with a picture of the hill itself, clearly visible from Stonecut, around 3 miles away. The hectic slope is the diagonal going up from right to left. The top section (from left to right) is still a climb but isn't as severe. Then a Google Earth analysis of the slope showing the peak slope at 23% which is just like pedalling up a wall, every pedal-stroke stopping at it's end and trying to roll back. At the start of the action, the slope is quite clearly visible on the houses on the right. That's not the hard bit. Just after the blue/black car at about 1:00 it's steepest. Of course, this is where I let a car pass and have to get going again. Uggg! The slope steadily eases but never gets much below 10%, which is hidden by the lack of reference on this clip. At the end I show the view, including Gouthewaite Reservoir (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL0MNTfDE-A).

Hill
A hill is a landform that extends above the surrounding terrain. It often has a distinct summit, although in areas with scarp/dip topography a hill may refer to a particular section of flat terrain without a massive summit (e.g. Box Hill, Surrey).
Terminology
The distinction between a hill and a mountain is unclear and largely subjective, but a hill is universally considered to be less tall and less steep than a mountain. In the United Kingdom, geographers historically regarded mountains as hills greater than 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level, which formed the basis of the plot of the 1995 film The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain. Silver
Silver is the metallic element with the atomic number 47. Its symbol is Ag, from the Latin argentum, from a PIE root reconstructed as *h₂erǵ-, "grey" or "shining". A soft, white, lustrous transition metal, it possesses the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and reflectivity of any metal. The metal occurs naturally in its pure, free form (native silver), as an alloy with gold and other metals, and in minerals such as argentite and chlorargyrite. Most silver is produced as a byproduct of copper, gold, lead, and zinc refining.
Silver has long been valued as a precious metal. More abundant than gold, silver metal has functioned in many premodern monetary systems as coinable specie, sometimes even alongside gold. Its purity is typically measured on a per-mille basis; a 94%-pure alloy is described as "0.940 fine". In addition, silver has numerous applications beyond currency, such as in solar panels, water filtration, jewelry and ornaments, high-value tableware and utensils (hence the term silverware), and also as an investment in the forms of coins and bullion. Silver is used industrially in electrical contacts and conductors, in specialized mirrors, window coatings and in catalysis of chemical reactions. Its compounds are used in photographic film and X-rays. Dilute silver nitrate solutions and other silver compounds are used as disinfectants and microbiocides (oligodynamic effect), added to bandages and wound-dressings, catheters and other medical instruments.

This hill is just so awesome as to require a clip all by itself. It also appears on Over Kirkby Malzeard Moor to Pateley Bridge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...
This hill is just so awesome as to require a clip all by itself. It also appears on Over Kirkby Malzeard Moor to Pateley Bridge (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccer9Q_DTBw). I start with a picture of the hill itself, clearly visible from Stonecut, around 3 miles away. The hectic slope is the diagonal going up from right to left. The top section (from left to right) is still a climb but isn't as severe. Then a Google Earth analysis of the slope showing the peak slope at 23% which is just like pedalling up a wall, every pedal-stroke stopping at it's end and trying to roll back. At the start of the action, the slope is quite clearly visible on the houses on the right. That's not the hard bit. Just after the blue/black car at about 1:00 it's steepest. Of course, this is where I let a car pass and have to get going again. Uggg! The slope steadily eases but never gets much below 10%, which is hidden by the lack of reference on this clip. At the end I show the view, including Gouthewaite Reservoir (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL0MNTfDE-A).

Train action for day two at the Folkston Funnel featured some steady morning action, slow during mid-day through early evening before picking back up. There were quite a bit of interesting things that day. Starting with power, southbound freight Q457 brought along two Florida East Coast SD70M-2's (train eventually will be handed over to FEC). Sulfate train K802 featured a FURX leaser along with BNSF behind CSX AC60CW, northbound freight Q652 brought along a rebuilt GP40 (GP40-3) and the northbound juice train Q740 had a CSX SD70ACe leading the way (there are only 20 SD70ACe's in CSX's fleet). I crossed path again with the Spirit of Magnolia on northbound freight Q473. A couple of Tier 4 GEVO's also made appearance on freight Q609 and Q458. Train action for day two at the Folkston Funnel featured some steady morning action, slow during mid-day through early evening before picking back up. There wer...
Train action for day two at the Folkston Funnel featured some steady morning action, slow during mid-day through early evening before picking back up. There were quite a bit of interesting things that day. Starting with power, southbound freight Q457 brought along two Florida East Coast SD70M-2's (train eventually will be handed over to FEC). Sulfate train K802 featured a FURX leaser along with BNSF behind CSX AC60CW, northbound freight Q652 brought along a rebuilt GP40 (GP40-3) and the northbound juice train Q740 had a CSX SD70ACe leading the way (there are only 20 SD70ACe's in CSX's fleet). I crossed path again with the Spirit of Magnolia on northbound freight Q473. A couple of Tier 4 GEVO's also made appearance on freight Q609 and Q458. Speaking of Q458, a car that interested me was a TBCX car, which I later found out it was used for aircraft parts (please correct me if needed). The southbound Amtrak Silver Meteor P097 brought along the C&O; Chapel Hill private car, which was nice to see.
Anyway, next day I bid farewell to Folkston and head north to my next destination in northwestern Georgia. However, I delayed the trip back north due to some potentially heavy rain & thunderstorms (at least a tornado was reported in Mississippi), so I spent a half day in Folkston before hitting the road. Train action for the half day continues on the next video.
**Note: I'm really really NOT GOOD w/ train symbols. I try to get as many as I can through my scanner or asking other railfans around me (if any).**

つまり遠い、遠い昔、同じように遠い、遠い星から連れてこられた奴隷たちは、金の採鉱に従事するかたわら、つかのまの合間をみつけて、自分たちの印を残したと、私、はやし浩司は考えています。
だからどの手形も、同じ方法で、同じ塗料を使って、そして同じような場所に描かれているのです。
つまりその手形には、悲しくも切ない、超古代の奴隷たちの歌声がしみ込んでいるというわけです。
