I was busy involved in shooting approaching 12951 Mumbai Rajdhani Express when I saw a man all of a sudden crossing railway track, he saw the superfast train entering Dadar a a great speed, still he climbs the fence, stands so close (barely 3-4feet from the train) and even shows the hand to the engine driver to stop the train. The man would have been sucked by the Three phase locomotive (GZB WAP-5# 30035) or generator car if the alert motorman wouldnt have applied brakes and slowed down the train. The man would have been in trouble if the train would have done speeds of 95-100kph.
There was no hurry to climb the fence and take such a risk, since a emu had departed from the platform just 1min back and the next emu was expected in 5mins.

Amid chants of "Govinda ala re", thousands of Mumbaikars today celebrated 'dahi handi' festival on the occasion of Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. Piling onto their cavalcade of trucks and motorcycles, hundreds of 'Govindas (young men)' were spotted travelling to pandals to prove their mettle by breaking pots of curd hung high in bylanes of the metropolis.
'Govindas' formed human pyramids and stood on top of one another, attempting to break clay pots filled with butter or curd tied to ropes even as their efforts were thwarted by water splashed on them by those gathered around.
Hundreds of 'Govinda mandals (groups)' participated in the festival at various places in the metropolis where human pyramids were formed to reach the pots containing dahi and win cash prizes.
The festival is inspired by the mythological tale of Lord Krishna's boy-hood trick of stealing butter from a suspended earthen pot.
Almost all big 'dahi handi' events are sponsored by political leaders.

Dadar
Dadar is a neighbourhood in Mumbai, and is also a railway station on both the Western (Dadar) and Central lines (Dadar T.T.) of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. Dadar is situated in the heart of Mumbai, and Dadar station is the only railway station common to both the Central and Western lines. This makes the station a transit point for thousands of passengers using the Mumbai Suburban Railway and one of the most crowded railway stations on the network.
History
In the 16th century, the area was known as lower Mahim as it was located on the island of Mahim, one of the Seven islands of Mumbai which, after Mumbai Island proper, was the most important during the whole of the Portuguese period. The Portuguese Franciscans built a church here in 1596 called Nossa Senhora de Salvação, which is popularly known today as Portuguese Church and is a familiar Dadar landmark.
The Dadar-Matunga-Wadala-Sion scheme of 1899-1900 was the first planned scheme in Mumbai. The Bombay Improvement Trust devised the plan to relieve congestion in the centre of the town following the plague epidemics of the 1890s. According to the survey plan, 60,000 people were to be housed at Dadar-Matunga and an equal number in Sion-Matunga. 85,000 people were to be accommodated in the developments in Sewri-Wadala.

The man would have been sucked by the Three phase locomotive (GZB WAP-5# 30035) or generator car if the alert motorman wouldnt have applied brakes and slowed down the train. The man would have been in trouble if the train would have done speeds of 95-100kph. There was no hurry to climb the fence and take such a risk, since a emu had departed from the platform just 1min back and the next emu was expected in 5mins. Dadar railway station comes under Central Railway and Western Railway too. In peak hours, walking on foot overbridges and boarding trains is nightmare since lots of commuters travel on both Dadar, Central as well as Western Railway. This video is taken on Sunday when there is less crowd boarding from Mumbai Cst (originating station) otherwise in peak hours, it is full of chaos, footboard is overpacked and sometimes people routinely play with their lives . "Kabutarkhana's" are famous landmarks in Mumbai city especially the "Dadar Kabutarkhana" which dates back to 1933 and built by Valamji Ratanshi Vora and is today managed by a group of 6 trustees. This area is surrounded by a "Jain Temple", a "Hanuman Temple", a "Mosque" and a "Cross" and considered a "Holy Spot", also a bottleneck for traffic congestion in the area. It has been declared a heritage spot by the Government. At 23:15hrs, 51033 Mumbai Cst Shirdi Fast Passenger accelerates smoothly under 25KV from busy Platfrom 5 of Dadar station of Central Railway. Taken from 3AC coach. This train was jampacked from Dadar station and the crowd was waiting on Platform 5 for Mumbai Cst Madgaon Konkankanya Express. Locomotive hauling my train was 4800Hp KYN WCAM-2P# 21870. Inspite of so many halts and with double halts at Vithalwadi, Ulhasnagar, Ambarnath and Badlapur we reached Pune at 03:45am, 30mins before time. This passenger has brilliant time table to reach Daund and Shirdi next day morning and has a very aggressive run between stations.

Prathamesh yeram in red shirt can be seen taking video and very tall Shrinath Adkar can be seen next to him. Even Avinash Patil and Aniket Chniwala were present that night too.
Vadodara Express is also known as Night Rider because of its aggressive night run from Mumbai to Vadodara from the moment it was introduced on 01/06/1976. On 01/06/2016, it will complete 40 years. It covers 393kms in 6hrs 15mins at average speed of 62kms. It has been given 30mins more slack time than other superfast trains on Mumbai - Vadodara route and if speeded up by 30mins more and it will hit average speed of 68kph.

Traffic crawls as Lalbaug flyover develops cracks

MUMBAI. Barely five years after it was constructed, joints on the 2.48km Lalbaug flyover cracked, leading to a 200mm wide gap on Wednesday evening Traffic moved slowly for most part of Thursday as the flyover was partially shut for maintenance. Brihanmumbai Municipa Corporation (BMC) officials sa id a major gap was visible bet ween two slabs ... An almost 200mm gap can be seen ... There were also diversions from Five Gardens and Dadar TT....
