From discotheques to concerts, across India and the World, she has addressed the youth about the values of music that makes us human. Singer Usha
Usha (born 29 May 1980), known professionally as Singer Usha, is a Telugu playback singer. In a career spanning about 10 years, she has established herself as one of the leading playback singers in Telugu film industry and has worked with many major music directors.
Career
Music competitions
Usha began her singing career with "Paadutha Teeyaga", a music based program on Eenadu Television hosted by legendary singer Sri. SP Balasubramanyam. She stood first in the competition and later followed up by winning another music contest titled "Navaragam" on Gemini TV.
Usha participated in various music-related shows on TV between 1996 and 2000. Her performance in "Endaro Mahanubhavlu" on Gemini TV won her appreciation and applause from the audience. She later participated in "Meri Awaz Suno" on Star TV and was one of the finalists in the All-India finals. She also participated in various Hindi programs on channels like ELTV and Zee TV.
Movie career
Usha got her maiden opportunity from Sri. Vandemataram Srinivas, renowned music director. Her first song was from the movie Illalu. She got her major break in Telugu film industry in 2000. She sang various chart busters for Telugu movies like Indra, Chiruta, Athidhi, Pourudu, Varsham, Bhadra, Chitram, Nuvvu Nenu, Manasantha Nuvve, Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu, Jayam, Santhosham, Nee Sneham, Avunanna Kadanna and many more (for complete filmography, please see the section below).

Plot: After the death of his wife, wealthy Mr. Verma re-marries Durgadevi, so that she can look after his son, Ravi. Subsequently, Durga also gets pregnant and gives birth a Kiran. After a few years, Mr. Verma passes away, Durga decides to enter into politics with the Janata Sangruti Party and soon becomes the party president with the help of Sewakram. Years later both Ravi and Kiran have grown up. Ravi, who is the Managing Director of his firm, wants to marry a typist by the name of Usha, but this does not auger well with Durga, who wants him to marry someone who is equally wealthy. Then Ravi gets a surprise when Durga changes her mind and agrees to Ravi and Usha's marriage, which is performed with great pomp and ceremony. After the marriage, Durga stands for election and wins, and is elected the state's Chief Minister. Kiran tells his mother that he has had an affair with Usha before she married Ravi. A shocked Durga decides that Usha is not who she claims to be, and asks Ravi to travel abroad so she can deal with this situation. When Ravi comes to bid a pregnant Usha good-bye, he does not know that this may the last time he may see her alive, and Usha does not know what fate awaits her at the hands of Durgadevi, Kiran, and Sewakram.

Usha has served as a role model for generations of young Indians and has been an unwavering ambassador for traditional Indian values.

Usha Mangeshkar (born circa 1935,daughter of Deenanath Mangeshkar) is an Indian singer who has recorded many Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati songs soundtracks. She is the younger sister of singers, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. She gained spotlight as a playback singer after singing some devotional songs for the low-budget movie, Jai Santoshi Maa (1975), which became an all-time blockbuster. She was nominated for the Filmfare Best Female Playback Singer award for her song, "Main to Aarti," in that film. She sang the same songs again for that movie's remake in 2006. Usha has a strong interest in painting. She is also known for her famous song entitled Mungla.
