One of the biggest reasons for lack of success in door-to-door pest control sales is spending too much time with the wrong people When you are talking to a lot of prospects in door-to-door pest control sales, your goals should be to initially qualify around 50% of the people you are talking to. You should be focused on looking for a reason as to why your prospect would qualify for your pest control services. One thing you should do to initially qualify your prospect is to look for pest activity around their home. When you find pests, you can use that in your initial sales pitch and value build. Another thing to be on the look out for is your prospect asking you how much your pest control services cost. Having your prospect admit to having pests is another key thing to look for to know if your prospects qualify. Not qualifying your prospects will lead you to waste time and will cause you to sell less because you are talking to the wrong people. Double qualify your prospects in door-to-door pest control sales to increase your chances of making the sale If your prospect doesn’t express any of these things while you are initially talking with them, you should move on to the next house. Try to qualify at least 50% of the people you talk to, and if you aren’t making the amount of sales you want, try double qualifying. For example, you may have a person who you see has pests but doesn’t really seem to care about it. They may talk about having pests but they don’t ever ask about how much your services are or show any interest in solving their pest problem. These prospects would be ones to walk away from because they don’t double qualify. Obviously if you are just getting started and are struggling to make sales to begin with, start with qualifying prospects on at least one thing. You should make plenty of sales through qualifying prospects once, but if you do it twice you will be talking to highly qualified prospects. If you are already making consistent sales, but want to take your sales to the next level add in double qualifying. The more you are qualifying your prospects the more likely they are going to buy from you. Talking to highly qualified prospects will be more fun and more lucrative for you and the easier it will be for you to make the sale.
