William Orbit (born William Mark Wainwright, 15 December 1956) is an English musician, composer and record producer. In the early 1980s, he formed synthpop act Torch Song with Laurie Mayer and Grant Gilbert. In 1987 he released the first of his Strange Cargo album series, containing ambient music.
By the 1990s and 2000s, Orbit had started to work with bigger name artists, producing songs on Ray of Light and Music by Madonna, 13 and Think Tank by Blur and Saints and Sinners by All Saints. His work with Madonna led him to win three Grammys. He worked again with Madonna on her 2012 album MDNA producing six songs.
William Orbit was born William Wainwright in London's East End in 1956. His mother, of Italian and Swedish descent, and his father, from Yorkshire, were both schoolteachers.
He did not have a formal education, having left school at 15 and being entirely self-taught. Aged 16, squatting in Norwich and working as a strawberry picker in the summer, he started to devote himself to guitar playing. He then lived in squats around Europe and worked at various jobs including hotel kitchen worker, motorbike messenger, at a ladies shoes factory, as an accounts clerk (in the days before computers), a night shift worker at the old Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam and junior draftsman at a North Sea oil rig design company.
In physics, an orbit is the gravitationally curved path of an object about a point in space, for example the orbit of a planet about a star. Orbits of planets are typically elliptical, and the central mass being orbited is at a focal point of the ellipse.
Current understanding of the mechanics of orbital motion is based on Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity, which accounts for gravity as due to curvature of space-time, with orbits following geodesics. For ease of calculation, relativity is commonly approximated by the force-based theory of universal gravitation based on Kepler's laws of planetary motion.
Historically, the apparent motions of the planets were described geometrically (without regard to gravity) in terms of epicycles, which are the sums of numerous circular motions. Theories of this kind predicted paths of the planets moderately well, until Johannes Kepler was able to show that the motions of planets were elliptical motions.
The celestial spheres model is a geocentric model of the solar system originally used to explain the apparent motion of the planets in the sky. It posited the existence of perfect moving spheres or rings to which the stars and planets were attached. After the planets' motions were more accurately measured, theoretical mechanisms such as deferent and epicycles were added. Although it was capable of accurately predicting the planets' positions in the sky, more and more epicycles were required as the measurements became more accurate, hence the model became more and more unwieldy.

Swan Lake (Russian: Лебединое озеро/Lebedinoye ozero), Op. 20, is a ballet composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1875–76. Despite its initial failure, it is now one of the most popular of all ballets.
The scenario, initially in two acts, was fashioned from Russian folk tales and tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer's curse. The choreographer of the original production was Julius Reisinger. The ballet was premiered by the Bolshoi Ballet on 4 March [O.S. 20 February] 1877 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Although it is presented in many different versions, most ballet companies base their stagings both choreographically and musically on the 1895 revival of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, first staged for the Imperial Ballet on 15 January 1895, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. For this revival, Tchaikovsky's score was revised by the St. Petersburg Imperial Theatre's chief conductor and composer Riccardo Drigo.

At the time this was a groundbreaking mix of animation and live action. I wanted to tell the story of a tree over a hundred years.
Mankind’s Destiny is a mash-up/homage to space exploration and science-fiction films set in space. The combination of historical space conquest events with sci-fi cinema may seem unusual due to the differences between fiction and reality. However, an increasing number of sci-fi movies opt for technical realism close to actual current and future space conquest accomplishments. The selection was made based on the movies' visuals and impact. Space opera-style films (such as Star Wars) were partly or completely skipped; however, some scenes were taken from movies like Star Trek, simply because of their beauty. However, many interesting movies on this subject were not selected, because their visuals did not match the project. - Why are 1950s and 1960s science-fiction classics missing? Aside fr...

Officially, this is the second installment of the Sydney Skies Series. Please visit http://OasisD.com for the full background. The music featured here is by William Orbit from his Hello Waveforms album; the song is entitled, Humming Chorus. This video features the many structures that compose the Sydney City Sky Line, from a flipped perspective. The upside-down imagery can make the viewer feel strange, and it's worthwhile to actually imagine and remember that Australia really is nearly upside-down when you compare it against the orientation of cities in the Northern Hemisphere. In the busy world we live in it can become easy to forget how interesting and pervasive the function of gravity truly is. Note: William Orbit's website is http://www/WilliamOrbit.com. July 1999. Having made 3 mad, fast videos, my fourth was a bit mellower. Set to William Orbit's Torch Song "Toward The Unknown Region", tracks "Raphael", "Ballad of Pearl and John", "Field of View" and "Shine on Me (Aurora Mix)" The video is purely made of mathematically generated fractals (not all by me). Goes quite well with the music, especially the last track. Please note this video can cause a wierd visual dizziness effect: having watched patterns coming towards you for several minutes, afterwards everything may seem to be moving away from you for a short while... This is known as the 'motion after effect illusion', its harmless, it wears off quickly, google it for more info. These are four tracks from the original Pieces In A Modern Style album by The Electric Chamber (William Orbit). This album contained several works from Arvo Part and Henryk Gorecki which could not be licensed and therefore this album was pulled from the market again soon after release. William Orbit recounted a time when he was at Brian’s home studio to record a guitar solo and rushed to join Brian when he heard him begin to play. William found himself just caught in the joy of it and started to play air guitar—he just couldn’t resist—it’s a lovely story. You’ll enjoy the interview.
