Google+ (pronounced and sometimes written as Google Plus) is an interest-based social network that is owned and operated by Google Inc.
The service, Google's fourth foray into social networking, experienced strong growth in its initial years, although usage statistics have varied, depending on how the service is defined. Google+ is the company's fourth foray into social networking, following Google Buzz (launched 2010, retired in 2011), Google Friend Connect (launched 2008, retired by March 1, 2012), and Orkut (launched in 2004, as of 2013 operated entirely by subsidiary Google Brazil – retired in September 2014).
Google+ launched in June 2011. Features included the ability to post photos and status updates to the stream or interest based communities, group different types of relationships (rather than simply "friends") into Circles, a multi-person instant messaging, text and video chat called Hangouts, events, location tagging, and the ability to edit and upload photos to private cloud-based albums.

Follow these steps for increasing website traffic with Facebook:
You can create a fan page where everyone can discover who you are. In any business, networking is very important. However, if you don't do this right, increasing website traffic will be difficult. Your fan page should include all relevant information about you and your business. It should offer some free information that people could download and use to their benefit.
In your Facebook fan page area, you have the option of writing a headline that sums up what your business is all about. Make sure that this headline is very compelling and easy to read. Your fans will love it if this headline were to target their emotions. Well, they don't know they would, but studies show that people are very compulsive web surfers. So, include keywords that target their emotional hot spots and drive them to take action.

Pages are extremely similar to profiles, but they have some key differences:
Pages can be made for a variety of different entities whereas profiles can only be made for people.
Pages can have multiple administrators.

Pages have the +1 button.
Pages can't +1 other pages, nor can they +1 stuff on the Web. (But like profiles, they can +1 inside Google+.)
Pages can't play games.
