Anubhav Mohanty

Anubhav Mohanty (Odia: ଅନୁଭବ ମହାନ୍ତି; born 24 December 1981) is an Ollywood and Bengali actor and politician in the state of Odisha in India. Anubhav Mohanty made his debut in the movie I Love You in 2004 opposite Mumbai based TV actress Namrata Thapa. In 2012 after the success of Balunga Toka he created his own production house named Vishnupriyaa Arts & Graphics. The very first released Oriya movie Something Something was the biggest hit of 2012. It ran for 115 days in Odisha and Bengaluru simultaneously. It is the only Oriya movie to date that has run 115 days in Bengaluru. Anubhav made his debut in the Bengali film industry with the movie Saathi Amaar opposite Rachana Banerjee in a special appearance.

Life and career

He completed his schooling from DAV public school, Cuttack, Odisha.He did his graduation in commerce from Christ College, Cuttack. He got married to Oriya actress Barsha Priyadarshini on 8 February 2014.

He started his career appearing in Oriya albums. He has featured in around 20–30 Oriya album video songs before debuting Oriya Film Industry in the 2004 film I Love You opposite Namrata Thapa . He had two other releases the same year, Saathire and Barsha My Darling which were moderate successes. He is currently one of the highest paid actor in Ollywood.

Cinema of Odisha

The Odia film industry (Odia: ଓଡ଼ିଆ ସିନେମା), colloquially known as Ollywood, is the Odia language Indian film industry, based in Cuttack, Odisha. The name is a portmanteau of the words Odia and Hollywood.

Industry

In 1974, the Government of Odisha declared film making and construction of cinema theaters as industry in the state, and two years later in 1976, it established the Odisha Film Development Corporation in Cuttack.

History

Oriya filmography has great history of film making starting the year 1936. Its first production was a talkie. The first Oriya talkie Sita Bibaha was made by Mohan Sundar Deb Goswami in 1936. Drawn from the great Indian epic Ramayana, the story tells about the marriage of Sita with Ram. The actual plot was made from a drama written by Kamala Mishra. Prepared with a budget of only Rs 30,000, the film has 14 song sequences. Despite it being the first Oriya film with several drawbacks in every section of its making, the two-hour-long movie generated great enthusiasm among the people. Released by Laksmi Talkies, Puri. The 12-reeled film had in its cast line Makhanlal Banerjee (Ram) who received only Rs 120 for his performance, Aditya Ballav Mohanty (Lakhsman) who got only Rs 35 as conveyance allowance and Prabati Devi (Sita) who was paid the highest amount of Rs 150. This was a landmark film of Oriya Film Industry.

Agastya

Agastya is one of the ancient saptarshis, a revered Vedic sage, and the earliest Siddhar. He is also believed to be the author of Agastya Samhita. The word is also written as Agasti and Agathiyar (Tamil: அகத்தியர் Agathiyar;Telugu: అగస్త్య; Kannada: ಅಗಸ್ತ್ಯ; Malayalam: അഗസ്ത്യന്‍ or അഗസ്ത്യമുനി; Sanskrit: अगस्त्य; Malay: Anggasta; Thai: Akkhot). Agathiyar(அகத்தியர்) in Thamizh means one who is focussed inward அகம் - அகத்து + இயர் = அகத்தியர் A-ga in Sanskrit means a mountain, and Asti means thrower. Agastya is also the Indian astronomical name of the star of Canopus, is said to be the 'cleanser of waters', since its rising coincides with the calming of the waters of the Indian Ocean. He was son of Pulasthya, son of Brahma.

Siddhar were spiritual adepts who possessed the ashta siddhis, or the eight supernatural powers. Sage Agathiyar is considered the guru of all Siddhars, and the Siddha medicine system is believed to have been handed over to him by Lord Muruga, son of the Hindu God Lord Shiva and goddess Parvathi. Siddhars are the followers of Lord Shiva. Agathiyar is the first Siddhar. His disciples and other siddhars contributed thousands of texts on Siddhar literature, including medicine and form the propounders of the system in this world. He is considered as the Father of Tamil literature and compiled the first Tamil grammar called Agathiyam. Adhithya Hrudhayam was revealed by Agathiar. Rama was finding it difficult to defeat Ravana, Agathiyar coming to Rama's help gave him "Adhithya Hrudhayam" after which Rama defeated Ravana. He is regarded to have lived around 15000 BCE. It is a mythological estimate.

Akshay Kumar

Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia (born 9 September 1967), better known by his stage name Akshay Kumar, is an Indian actor, producer and martial artist who has appeared in over a hundred Hindi films. He has been nominated for Filmfare Awards several times, winning it two times. When he began his acting career in the 1990s, he primarily starred in action films and was known for his appearances in films of the "Khiladi series" as well as other action films such as Waqt Hamara Hai (1993), Mohra (1994), Elaan (1994), Suhaag (1994), Sapoot (1996), Jaanwar (1999).

Later, Kumar also gained fame for his drama, romance, action and comic roles. Kumar hit a rough patch since 2009 to 2011 but came back with two successes, Housefull 2 (2012) and Rowdy Rathore (2012) with both of them grossing over ₹1 billion (US$15 million). His other films like OMG (2012), Special 26 (2013), Holiday (2014), Gabbar is Back (2015) and Airlift (2016) were highly successful critically and commercially. In February 2013, many media outlets reported that the net box-office collection of Kumar's films had crossed ₹20 billion (US$290 million) and he was the first and the only Bollywood actor to do so.Box Office India listed Kumar as one of the most successful actors in the history of Indian Cinema. Having done so, he has established himself as a leading contemporary actor of Hindi cinema.

Akash Dasnayak

Akash DasNayak, popularly known by film-industry name Akash, is an Odia film actor renowned for doing action-oriented movies. and the MLA of Korei Constituency.

Personal details

He was born at Jajpur Road 17 September 1981, Odisha, India to Mayadhar Nayak and Indira Das. He did his graduation from Vyasnagar College, Jajpur Road(LLB) from Utkal University. His aunt Anita Dash was a veteran film actress. He debuted Oriya film industry in 2008 with film Kalinga Putra receiving Best Actor award and acted in several movies.
