Sichuan (Chinese: 四川; pinyin: Sìchuān, formerly Szechwan or Szechuan) is a province in southwest China. The capital is Chengdu, a key economic centre of Western China.
The name of the province is an abbreviation of Sì Chuānlù (四川路), or "Four circuits of rivers", which is itself abbreviated from Chuānxiá Sìlù (川峡四路), or "Four circuits of rivers and gorges", named after the division of the existing circuit into four during the Northern Song dynasty.
Throughout its prehistory and early history, the region and its vicinity in the Yangtze region was the cradle of unique local civilizations which can be dated back to at least the 15th century BC and coinciding with the later years of the Shang and Zhou dynasties in North China. Sichuan was referred to in ancient Chinese sources as Ba-Shu (巴蜀), an abbreviation of the kingdoms of Ba and Shu which existed within the Sichuan Basin. Ba included Chongqing and the land in eastern Sichuan along the Yangtze and some tributary streams, while Shu included today's Chengdu, its surrounding plain and adjacent territories in western Sichuan.
Sichuan, a magical land of abundance; nature offers her so many magnificent and beautiful scenery. It is home to many rare animals and plants. The local custom of the ethnic minorities adds extra glamour to her attraction. The world heritages and world biosphere reserves, along with more than 4000 scenic spots make Sichuan province most abundant with tourism resources in China and attract visitors from home and abroad. The ancient Sichuan culture is such a bright star in history that it is still a historical and cultural heritage appreciated by the off springs after so many generations. Besides its history, Sichuan cuisine with its characteristic of flavor is famous in the world. A tour in Sichuan will not be perfect without a taste of some spicy Sichuan dishes. Sichuan people enjoy their ...

Please like: www.facebook.com/foodrangin The first thing we had to eat, although not technically Sichuan food, was a Chinese pastry, called huoshao, filled with a juicy, meaty, wonderful filling that was served fresh from the oven. We were super lucky to get the first ones right out of the oven after lining up for around 20 minutes. This place was found just behind Chunxi lu (Chunxi road) in Chengdu's downtown Core. After feasting on that beautiful snack, we had to go for the real meal, the true authentic Sichuan food, Hot P...

I set off for Chinese street food and cuisine in deep southern Sichuan province by bicycle. I rode my bike down deep into Southern China's lush and mountainous liangshan region, in search of delicious Chinese street food and Chinese food. The Chinese food really was different in this region. The liangshan region is home to Chinese Yi ethnic minority, who have their own cuisine. It was very rural and in some areas also very poor, so I had difficulty finding the yi cuisine at first. Later in the second half of the video, I found a Yi restaurant and had a Chinese food feast! The little vil...
Please make sure to Subscribe to my channel! Click here to subscribe: http://vid.io/xqN3 Chinese noodles are said to be the best in the north of China, but I've found some amazing noodles here in Sichuan, in Southern China. In Sichuan province, there is a large variety of different noodles to try. One of my favourite, even more so than the internationally famous Dan Dan noodles (dan dan mian 担担面) is the mixed sauce noodles with cowpeas, the jiangdoumian 豇豆面, they are top notch. Some of them are like Chinese street food, while others are in restaurants. Most of them are good. I found this place in Chengdu after biking around one night in search of the best noodles with a hungry stomach. I love watching the local Chinese cooking and getting to taste the noodles afterwards brings so much joy...

Take a tour of Huanglong Scenic Area in Sichuan, China - part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats. The Huanglong (hoo-ang-long) Scenic Area, in China, is a place of such incredible beauty that it is almost otherworldly. Flowing through the floor of this valley is one of the tributaries of a river. Limestone pools, many of which are lipped with golden color, have slowly formed within the waters of this river. On a bright day, the shimmering pools look like scales on a dragon whose body is the river. The valley's name -- Huanlong - means Yellow Dragon. As the bright waters flow, many exotic and fascinating types of animals can be seen moving about the park here.

Check out my Taipei Travel Guide for Food Lovers: https://migrationology.com/travel-guides/taipei-taiwan/ Day 9 in Taiwan, Ying and I decided to take a relatively easy day by going to a few museums, and doing something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, eat a Sichuan hot pot. 0:26 Miniatures Museum of Taiwan The first place on our agenda for the day was a quick stop at the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan, a small private museum of models of famous buildings and architectures, especially European and English style. The museum was alright if you like to see models and the models were incredibly well detailed and very well done. Overall, it wasn’t really my style of a museum though, so we just spent a few minutes there and then it was time to eat lunch. 1;39 Old Sichuan Hot Pot - Incredible Me...
Jiu Zhai Gou lies in north Sichuan Province, 45 kilometers away from Nanping County Town. he area is about 60,000 hectares. Because of the inconvenient traffic, few people had visited the great mountains of the area. There're nine Tinbetans once lived here and this is why it is called Jiu Zhai Gou. Jiu Zhai Gou is a deep valley of Mt. Minshan and looks like the letter "Y". The valley is about 40 kilometers long and its elevation is from 2000 to 3000 meters. Jiu Zhai Gou is near the another famous scenic area Huang Long Temple, actually both of them are called " the heavenly scenery on earth". There're tens of graceful peaks around the valley and more than 20,000 hectares area of Primitive forest in it. There're 108 lakes in the valley which was called Hai Zi by the Tinbetans. Some lakes ...
Face Change is the most highlighted in the Sichuan Opera. Different faces can embody the characters' characteristics vividly. Some talented performers can change their face just in one second. Sounds incredible, right? How can they make it? Sorry, it remains a second class national secret. In order to protect Face Change, China has included it on the National Intangible Culture Heritage List. Face Change doesn't mean that the performers change their faces. In fact, they change their masks on their faces very quickly. There are usually three ways to change their masks: wiping, blowing or pulling.

Die wilden Tibetmakaken, vor denen unsere Begleiter großen Respekt haben, scheinen weniger heilig zu sein.
