TRAVEL VLOG: VENEZIA, ITALIA

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my channel, my travel diaries continue as I venture off to La Serenissima or Venice, Italia! I spent only a day here along with my travel buddy who had just got back from exploring London. We stayed at a beautiful hotel called the LaGare Hotel Venezia which is in the heart of Murano Island, famous for its glass works. The hotel is enclosed in the antique walls of an old furnace called “conterie” and overlooks the Grand Canal of Murano.The hotel provides a shuttle service to and from Marco Polo airport, Santa Lucia Railway station, St Mark’s Square and Piazzale Roma. It can also be easily reached by water-taxi which offers a 24 hour service, or water bus (vaporetto) which stops at “Museo”. I swear I had no idea until I got home and started editing :( Now I'll know for next time! Can you tell I'm a video editor newbie? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Some Helpful Tips: Please note that the only means of transportation around Venice is by water taxi only! So plan ahead on sights to see because the vaporettos are sooooooo slow and they stop at every single water taxi stop. We used a 24 hr pass which as unlimited usage of the vaporettos and I believe it was only 20 euros for the card. This came in handy considering we were only going to be there for a day. Venice can be accessed easily by train www.trenitalia.com it's about 2 and half hours from Milan and Rome. Please note that there are TWO train stations in Venice, one is in the main land and the other is on the actual island. Venezia Sta. Lucia is the train station you want to go to on the island! As soon as you get off, the vaporettos and info desks are in front! The gondolas ARE EXPENSIVE, almost 100 euro for 30-1hr ride on the gondolas, but it can get less expensive if you split it amongst a couple of people. Screw the map, get lost because in reality, you really CAN'T get that lost considering the island is extremely tiny, you can walk the entire island by foot that's how tiny it is. Get lost and enjoy it because it's worth it in this beautiful place. Trust me, just immerse yourself in the culture and enjoy every single moment. No other place is like Venezia. It truly is a magical place. If you're staying in Murano please be aware that EVERYTHING closes early around 3pm-4pm including restaurants so if you're hungry you might be out of luck. Fortunately for us, we discovered a neat restaurant around the corner of our hotel called Osteria Al Duomo and they serve pretty late into the night and seemed to be the only restaurant opened on the entire island lol their pizzas are to DIE FOR! Here is the vaporetto schedule to help you plan out the times for your day to get from point A to point B http://www.actv.it/en/movinginvenice/waterbusservicetimetable A lot of people actually stay on the main land than on Venice itself because the hotels on the island are REALLY EXPENSIVE, so you might see the crowds die down around the evening time which is perfect if you're staying on the island.
