Charles Hartshorne (/ˈhɑːrtsˌhɔːrn/; June 5, 1897 – October 9, 2000) was an American philosopher who concentrated primarily on the philosophy of religion and metaphysics. He developed the neoclassical idea of God and produced a modal proof of the existence of God that was a development of St. Anselm's Ontological Argument. Hartshorne is also noted for developing Alfred North Whitehead's process philosophy into process theology.
Hartshorne (pronounced harts-horn) was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, and was the son of Reverend F.C. Hartshorne. Among his brothers was the prominent geographer Richard Hartshorne. Charles attended Haverford College between 1915–17, but then spent two years as a hospital orderly serving in the US Army. He then studied at Harvard University, where he earned the B.A. (1921), M.A. (1922) and PhD (1923) degrees. His doctoral dissertation was on "The Unity of Being". He obtained all three degrees in only four years, an accomplishment believed unique in Harvard's history.
Alfred North Whitehead, OM FRS (15 February 1861 – 30 December 1947) was an English mathematician and philosopher. He is best known as the defining figure of the philosophical school known as process philosophy, which today has found application to a wide variety of disciplines, including ecology, theology, education, physics, biology, economics, and psychology, among other areas.
In his early career Whitehead wrote primarily on mathematics, logic, and physics. His most notable work in these fields is the three-volume Principia Mathematica (1910–13), which he co-wrote with former student Bertrand Russell. Principia Mathematica is considered one of the twentieth century's most important works in mathematical logic, and placed 23rd in a list of the top 100 English-language nonfiction books of the twentieth century by Modern Library.
Beginning in the late 1910s and early 1920s, Whitehead gradually turned his attention from mathematics to philosophy of science, and finally to metaphysics. He developed a comprehensive metaphysical system which radically departed from most of western philosophy. Whitehead argued that reality consists of processes rather than material objects, and that processes are best defined by their relations with other processes, thus rejecting the theory that reality is fundamentally constructed by bits of matter that exist independently of one another. Today Whitehead's philosophical works – particularly Process and Reality – are regarded as the foundational texts of process philosophy.

Important variations were developed by later philosophers like Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi, René Descartes,...
This lecture is part of a larger series of talks that explores the importance of wisdom seeking in schools, and in particular, when we are interested in promoting "creativity" in our classrooms. This lecture is designed for BEd students who are completing the professional degrees in an Education Faculty. In this section, we explore the thought and "wisdom research" of Gabriel Marcel, Robert Sternberg, Patricia Arlin, The Max Planck Institute/Berlin Wisdom Group, John Kekes, John Meacham, Charles Hartshorne, and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.

Stilwell 12 Checotah 7 September 18, 1970 Week 2 Stilwell record coming into this game (Won 0 Lost 1) from James Bradley Memorial Athletic Park in Stilwell, Oklahoma NOTE - ALTHOUGH THIS IS A HOME GAME STILWELL WEARS THEIR WHITE UNIFORMS WHILE CHECOTAH WEARS THEIR BLUE JERSEYS AND WHITE PANTS. It won't matter by the end of this film because, as was typical of Stilwell home games until the mid-80's were played in a mud bog so both teams are covered in mud. If it rained even a little the week of a home game, the field became soaked and couldn't dry. 1970 Stilwell Roster HEAD COACH - Joe White Jim Killer 86 Ted Lawson 81 Bill Goodwin 88 Jack Christie 32 Bruce Bertelsen 80 Ron Osborn 28 John Hummingbird 78 Rylen Deweese 70 Roger Davis 66 Joe Bunch 74 David Malcolm 64 Fred Nichols 63 ...
