Otaru (小樽市, Otaru-shi) is a city and port in Shiribeshi Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan, northwest of Sapporo. The city faces the Ishikari Bay, and has long served as the main port of the bay. With its many historical buildings, Otaru is a popular tourist destination. Because it is a 25-minute drive from Sapporo, it has recently grown as a bedroom community.
As of 31 July, 2011, the city has an estimated population of 131,706 with 67,308 households and a population density of 541.71 persons per km² (1,403.0 persons per sq. mi.). The total area is 243.13 km2 (93.87 sq mi). Although it is the largest city in Shiribeshi Subprefecture, the subprefecture's capital is the more centrally located Kutchan.
Otaru is a port town on the coast of the Sea of Japan in northern Shiribeshi Subprefecture. The southern portion of the city is characterized by the steep slopes of various mountains, notably Tenguyama; and the altitude of the land sharply drops from the mountains to the sea. The land available between the coast and mountains has been almost completely developed, and the developed part of the city on the mountain slopes is called Saka-no-machi, or "Hill town", including hills named Funamizaka (Boat-view Hill) and Jigokuzaka (Hell Hill).
Hokkaido (北海道, Hokkaidō, literally "Northern Sea Circuit") (Japanese: [hokkaido]), formerly known as Ezo, Yezo, Yeso, or Yesso, is the 2nd largest island of Japan, and the largest and northernmost prefecture. The Tsugaru Strait separates Hokkaido from Honshu, although the two islands are connected by the underwater railway Seikan Tunnel. The largest city on Hokkaido is its capital, Sapporo, which is also its only ordinance-designated city.
Hokkaido was settled by the Ainu,Nivkh, and Orok peoples many years ago. The Nihon Shoki, finished in 720 AD, is often said to be the first mention of Hokkaido in recorded history. According to the text, Abe no Hirafu led a large navy and army to northern areas from 658 to 660 and came into contact with the Mishihase and Emishi. One of the places Hirafu went to was called Watarishima (渡島), which is often believed to be present-day Hokkaido. However, many theories exist in relation to the details of this event, including the location of Watarishima and the common belief that the Emishi in Watarishima were the ancestors of the present-day Ainu people.

Japan (i/dʒəˈpæn/; Japanese: 日本 Nippon [nip̚põ̞ɴ] or Nihon [nihõ̞ɴ]; formally 日本国 Nippon-koku or Nihon-koku, "State of Japan") is an island country in East Asia. Located in the Pacific Ocean, it lies to the east of the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, China, North Korea, South Korea and Russia, stretching from the Sea of Okhotsk in the north to the East China Sea and Taiwan in the south. The kanji that make up Japan's name mean "sun origin", and Japan is often called the "Land of the Rising Sun".
Japan is a stratovolcanic archipelago of 6,852 islands. The four largest are Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu, and Shikoku, which make up about ninety-seven percent of Japan's land area. Japan's population of 126 million is the world's tenth largest. Approximately 9.1 million people live in Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, which is the sixth largest city proper in the OECD. The Greater Tokyo Area, which includes Tokyo and several surrounding prefectures, is the world's largest metropolitan area with over 35 million residents and the world's largest urban agglomeration economy.
Sapporo (札幌市, Sapporo-shi) listen is the fourth-largest city in Japan by population, and the largest city on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido. Located in Ishikari Subprefecture, it is the capital of Hokkaido Prefecture, and an ordinance-designated city of Japan.
Sapporo is known outside Japan for having hosted the 1972 Winter Olympics, the first ever held in Asia, and for the city's annual Yuki Matsuri, internationally referred to as the Sapporo Snow Festival, which draws more than 2 million tourists from around the world. The city is also home to Sapporo Brewery and the white chocolate biscuits called shiroi koibito (白い恋人, "white sweetheart").
Before its establishment, the area occupied by Sapporo (known as the Ishikari Plain) was home to a number of indigenous Ainu settlements. In 1866, at the end of the Edo Period, construction began on a canal through the area, encouraging a number of early settlers to establish Sapporo village. The settlement's name was taken from the Ainu language sat poro pet (サッ・ポロ・ペッ), and can be translated as "dry, great river".

Plot: The male-only planet of Terra II is populated by clones of the six men who were marooned there 300 years before. The only females are robots called "marionettes," who serve as workers and soldiers. Japoness marionettes Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry are different from most others, because each possesses a special circuit that gives them human emotions. One by one, they are accidentally awakened by young Mamiya Otaru and take up residence with him. As a result, Otaru's uneventful life becomes just a tad more interesting. At the same time, conflict between Japoness and the city-state of Gartland is escalating. Is it because Faust, the leader of Gartland, lusts for world domination, or is it something else his heart longs for... something with a connection to Lime, Cherry, and Bloodberry?

Spent a day in a little town called Otaru in Hokkaido. First we stopped by the Music Box Museum and then had some fun in the snow! At night we decided to stop by the well-known canal (which was nice but kind of over-hyped). I would recommend this place as a fun day trip from Sapporo :) Enjoy! Landed! Day 1 was a disaster as the flight was delayed which means we completely missed the connecting transit flight to Sapporo. Had to bus to Haneda airport and take a later one. To be put under pressure when you haven't slept properly for 24 hours is not necessarily fun, but we managed and the 2nd day was a full on Sapporo / Otaru sight-see~ Snowing really heavily and Meiying socks are wet. RIP.
On our first day in Hokkaido we went to Otaru! It's about an hour's train ride outside Sapporo, and it's a beautiful historical Japanese city. They have a lot of things to see there, including the Snow Light Path, which is an illumination festival in co-oridnation with the Sapporo Snow Festival each year. We also went to the Otaru aquarium, which is quite famous, but I had too much footage for one video, so I'll be uploading that separately soon! (: I hope you liked the video, and thanks for watching! (:

We're all hell bent on destruction
Trying to erase black spots on our souls
Hide from a violent eruption
Cataclysmic engulfing us all.
Lay down (lay down)
Tonight (tonight)
In front of the things
That conquer us all.
Your body, it taunts me
Your flesh is, oh so haunting.
Chorus:
Children of the night.
Throw your hands up in the air.
We all know we've lost the fight.
Hope dies out and we can see the end.
Black days begin.
Walk down this path of temptation
Deny the flesh ignore whats crawling below.
Stay true (stay true)
Stay cold (stay cold)
In front of the things
That conquer us all!
Your body, it taunts me
Your flesh is, oh so haunting.
Chorus
Solos
Your body, it taunts me
Your flesh is, oh so haunting.
