Amanda Abbington (born October 1974) is an English actress and comedienne who has appeared on both television and stage. She is best known for her roles in the 2005 comedy sketch show Man Stroke Woman and the 2007–2008 comedy After You've Gone with Nicholas Lyndhurst. She has also appeared in recurring series such as Coupling, Casualty and Dream Team.
Abbington stars in the Maltesers advertising campaign, where she lifts up her shirt to reveal her bra to frighten a shy work colleague. In another advert, where she mischievously tricks a friend (Katherine Parkinson) into believing the jeans she just placed in the tumbledryer have mysteriously shrunk in size, only for her friend to realize that she swapped the real jeans with a doll's jeans and stuffed them down her top, and in another she and her friend set up their boyfriends in kissing position while they sleep.
Abbington is the longtime partner of British actor Martin Freeman. They have two children, Joe and Grace. The couple appeared together in the film Men Only (2000), which is where they met.
