Clifton Powell
Clifton Powell (born March 16, 1956) is an American actor and comedian.
Career
Powell is best known for playing the role of Pinky in the 2000 comedy film, Next Friday, and its 2002 sequel, Friday After Next. As well as the 1993 film Menace II Society (1993), 1995's Dead Presidents, 2004's Ray, and 2009's Just Another Day. He also appeared as drug dealer Andre Thompson, a recurring character on the TV series Roc that ran from 1991 to 1994.
Personal life
Powell was born in Washington, D.C.
Sexual assault civil charges
In 2013 a judgment was entered against Powell for sexual assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress for $153,095.50. According to plaintiff's attorney, several attempts to collect the debt from the actor in Louisiana had been unsuccessful, so the judgment was recorded in California to garnish the actor's wages.

Tyler Perry
Tyler Perry (born Emmitt Perry Jr.; September 13, 1969) is an American actor, producer, director, screenwriter, playwright, author, and songwriter, specializing in the gospel genre. Perry wrote and produced many stage plays during the 1990s and early 2000s. In 2011, Forbes named him the highest paid man in entertainment; he earned US$130 million between May 2010 and 2011.
Perry is known for both creating and performing as the Madea character, a tough elderly woman. Perry also creates films, some produced as live recordings of stage plays, and others professionally filmed using full sets and locations with full editing. Perry is estimated to have earned around US$75 million by 2008. Many of Perry's stage-play films have been subsequently adapted as professional films.
Perry has also created several television shows, his most successful of which is Tyler Perry's House of Payne, a show that ran for eight seasons on TBS from June 21, 2006, to August 10, 2012. On October 2, 2012, Perry struck an exclusive multi-year partnership with Oprah Winfrey and her Oprah Winfrey Network. The partnership was largely for the purposes of bringing scripted television to the OWN network, Perry having had previous success in this department. Perry has created multiple scripted series for the network, the most successful being The Haves and the Have Nots. As of 2014, The Haves and the Have Nots has given OWN its highest ratings to date. The series has also been critically acclaimed as being "one of OWN's biggest success stories with its weekly dose of soapy fun, filled with the typical betrayals, affairs, manipulations and a bitch slap or two."

A pastor's daughter drifts from her faith when she falls in with a strong willed producer who wants to take advantage of more than just her voice. Adapted from the Angela Barrow-Dunlap musical.
Two worlds. One girl. Check out this story with heart.
Church Girl, written and produced by Angela Barrow-Dunlap, is an amazing play with a great story and outstanding performances. I had the opportunity to meet and photograph the cast recently at the Sony Centre For Performing Arts. The cast includes Robin Givens, Karen Clark-Sheard, Demetria McKinney and Clifton Powell to name a few.
Based on a true story, the lead character, Emily Franklin (played by Demetria), is introduced as an innocent girl living at home with her mother, a respected church pastor. She is seduced by a boyfriend who draws her into his dangerous world and convinces her to engage in questionable behavior. She somehow manages to maintain a facade of innocence to her religious family, until her secret is dramatically revealed. After a lot of heartache, and a near death experience, she eventually returns into the loving arms of her family and the sanctuary of her church.
The story keeps you on the edge of your seat, as you watch her two worlds collide in a highly charged and emotional conclusion. It leaves you considering the impact of negative choices and reminds us that it is never too late to start over and make positive changes. Sometimes we choose to go down the wrong road, but with the help of a strong support system and a belief in a higher power it is always possible to get back on the right path.
It is the responsibility of all of us to help our loved ones, be there to support them and be honest with them when you think they are making mistakes. The play sends this very strong message, especially to fathers. Fathers need to protect their little girls and treat them with respect, so that when they grow up they expect nothing less from their partner.
There were so many heart touching and memorable moments throughout the play. Clifton Powell played his part to perfection and Angela Winbush blew the audience away singing her song “Angel.” Church Girl had me laughing, clapping, singing, wiping tears and at the end I was on my feet cheering.
Micheal Charles, from Profile Entertainment Inc., will be bringing another Angela Barrow-Dunlap stage play, Why Good Girls Like Bad Boyz, to Toronto soon.

Maker (Master P), a hip-hop music mogul and crime boss, helps broker a deal between Noah (Gary Busey), a major dealer in illegal arms, and a consortium of extremist groups. However, Maker was cut out of the loop at the last minute and he's eager to get revenge—and his piece of the action. He initially uses Davis (Jeff Fahey), an employee of a shipping company, to send his merchandise around the world, but when the company upgrades to computer-based tracking, he brings in Jason (Gary Daniels), a digital-savvy workaholic trying to wipe out the memory of his first wife.
Jason earns a big cut of Davis' profits, and is introduced to his world of fast times and loose women, including Laura (Jodi Bianca Wise), a sweet but streetwise hooker. Unknown to the others, FBI Agent Diane (Pam Grier) is watching Noah's deal in order to put him and his crew behind bars, but she doesn't realize that several of the players have hidden agendas. A major arms deal is going down, and 3 separate characters are desperately trying to get in on it. Each is either a true career criminal, out for personal profit or an undercover agent, intercepting to elevate a CV. Everyone is playing each other off against one another.
