30 mm caliber ammunition is usually used in autocannon. Such ammunition includes NATO standard 30×173 mm and 30×113 mm B rounds and Soviet 30×165 mm rounds widely used around the world.
30 mm ammunition is typically not used against personnel, but rather as an anti-materiel or armor-piercing round. Rounds of this size can be effective against armored vehicles as well as fortified bunkers.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation use their 30 mm weapons in a variety of vehicles, including the Su-25 attack aircraft, Mi-24 helicopter, Mi-28 attack helicopter, Ka-50 attack helicopter, and the BMP-2, BMP-3, and BTR-90 infantry fighting vehicles. The most modern anti-aircraft gun systems in use by Russia are in 30mm. The U.S. military uses 30 mm weapons in their A-10 Thunderbolt II and AH-64 Apache helicopter. It was going to be used in the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle until the project was cancelled.
30 mm ammunition generally comes in three varieties: armor piercing (AP), high explosive (HE), and training rounds. Armor piercing and high explosive cartridges usually also possess incendiary characteristics.

Sigma 30mm 1.4 DC DN - Video & Image Test - Sony E Mount (A6000) Hey You guys so here is my video test and first look at the Sigma 30 mm 1.4 DC DN lens for the Sony emount. I'm shooting on a Sony A6000 wide open at F1.4 .. Obviously this lens is going to be a hot topic since Sigma has kept the price very competitive (below $400) and opened the door for us APS-C crop sensor camera users to achieve a very shallow depth of field. I was very close to buying something similar in a manual focus model through the Rokinon brand, so super excited to see how affordable this lens was while offering me the autofocus capabilities that the Sony’s are known to impress with. This is really just my first test I literally just took this out of the box I look forward to doing some photo shoots, I have one plant tomorrow state to and I promise to a upload an update everything I have going on with this lens in the near future. -Haashim

Hey You guys so here is my video test and first look at the Sigma 30 mm 1.4 DC DN lens for the Sony emount. I'm shooting on a Sony A6000 wide open at F1.4 .. Obviously this lens is going to be a hot topic since Sigma has kept the price very competitive (below $400) and opened the door for us APS-C crop sensor camera users to achieve a very shallow depth of field. I was very close to buying something similar in a manual focus model through the Rokinon brand, so super excited to see how affordable this lens was while offering me the autofocus capabilities that the Sony’s are known to impress with. This is really just my first test I literally just took this out of the box I look forward to doing some photo shoots, I have one plant tomorrow state to and I promise to a upload an update everything I have going on with this lens in the near future.

A strong earthquake has struck Myanmar, the US Geological Survey reports, with shaking felt across the region, BBC News reports.The 6.9 magnitude quake took place at a depth of around 140 kilometers (87 miles), northwest of Mandalay. I ended that streak of not losing money on VC investments in the late 90s in a series of epic flameouts. I lost somewhere between $25mm and $30mm on one single investment.
