Konbawa minna-san! ~ I have finally moved from Tokyo to Osaka in Japan. Took the bullet train for the first time and it was super fast! Toured around Osaka into Umeda. I even got to head to the Umeda Sky building and it was super amazing! I was able to try the yummy sweets and desserts here. Kyaaaa. ~ I hope you like my little journey that I'm taking you here. More to come from Osaka, stay tuned! ^_^

Hankyu Umeda Station （阪急梅田駅） is located in the Umeda district of the northern part of the downtown Osaka City. Umeda area is serviced by both Hankyu Umeda Station and the JR Osaka Station. Both stations are located side by side and connected by multitude of above ground and under ground shopping, eating and drinking establishments.
Umeda Station is owned and operated by Hankyu Railways conglomerate. Enjoy...

Yes! Visited Japan again^^ This time I visited Osaka with Laurie! We flew to Osaka separately and met up at the airport. Luckily both of us arrive around the same time.
We are used to speaking both Cantonese and English to each other. Got into a habit of using "Chinglish". Hahahahhah!! Therefore let me know if you guys want me to add in subtitles.

Umeda Sky Building (梅田スカイビル), part of New Umeda City, is one of Osaka's most recognizable icons and is the 12th tallest building in Osaka. The 40 story building comprises the Floating Garden Observatory which is a popular tourist attraction of Osaka.
Rising 40-stories (173m) in the air, you can get an excellent bird's eye view of the sprawling metropolis at the Floating Garden Observatory as well as the roof-top observatory. At the basement you may find a Showa Period themed restaurant mall.
This building, completed in 1993 can easily be accessed from Osaka Station and Umeda Station.

First time making my way to the Pokemon Centre!
PLEASE WATCH in 720/1080HD & OPEN FOR MORE INFO! TQ. :)
Weeee! I decided to put up some random clips from Osaka! Mostly some shopping that was going on. In case anybody wants to know where I went, I was near Umeda station where Osaka's street is filled with shopping malls. From Hankyuu Mens/Women, Whity Mall, Lucua mall, Yodabashi mall and even Daimaru! There's a lot guys. It's just crazy. I couldn't film much inside the stores. I felt it was much better for me to not spoil the experience if anybody plans on heading to Osaka. Think of this video as a little snippet of things here and there. More videos coming out soon! JR Osaka Station （JR大阪駅） is located in the northern part of central (or downtown) Osaka City in the Umeda district.
JR Osaka Station, along with Hankyu Umeda Station are the two stations that are considered the "gateway" to Osaka city. Tourists can come to either of these stations and then visit various spots in the downtown area using the subway lines.
This station is not to be mistaken with JR Shin-Osaka Station, which is located further north and primarily services the Shinkansen (Japanese Bullet Trains). JR Osaka Station does not have Shinkansen service.

Presented in collaboration with Café OTO on 8 July 2013, Umeda performs in the atmospheric setting of a former chapel, making connections between sound, kinetics and sculpture whilst exploring the idiosyncrasies of the building.
At the moment of being heard brings together works and performances by a group of international artists, musicians and composers engaging with sound and modes of listening. Installed throughout the galleries and connecting spaces, the exhibition is presented in parallel with a series of live performances and special events, both at the SLG and at nearby off-site venues as part of SLG Local.

Hiroaki Umeda, a choreographer who has been attracting attention in Japan and abroad with his "visual performances" blending imagery, sound and dance, presents his brand new dance piece at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM]. Holistic Strata is a YCAM original production developed with the Center's expert staff during the artist's stay in Yamaguchi, with the aim to break new ground in the filed of body expression integrating media technology.
Based on his own set designs mixing imagery and sound, Hiroaki Umeda equivalently combines in his pieces elements of light, sound, and the human body. For his audiences, these performances are opportunities to experience their own bodies' primary reactions triggered by intensely stimulating light and sound. Visitors to the performance at YCAM are likely to witness another leap forward by the choreographer who has been harnessing information technology to conquer the world with nothing but his body and a computer. Look forward to a novel type of performance that will rock your body senses and challenge your perception.

1日250万人の乗降客数を誇る西日本最大のターミナル、大阪梅田。駅周辺には阪急、阪神、大丸、三越伊勢丹という4つの百貨店が建ち並び、まるで迷路のような地下街を擁する巨大繁華街と日本を代表する超高層ビル群が広がっています。この動画では淀川を渡る新御堂筋から国道2号線を経由して大阪ステーションシティや西梅田、建設中のグランフロント大阪などを巡るドライブ夜景を2倍速で収録しました。
Umeda at Kita-ku, Osaka is western japan's largest railway terminal complex boasts 2.5 million passengers daily. There are four department stores and maze-like underground mall with over 40 skyscrapers in the district. This video was recorded the night driving around JR Osaka and Umeda station via Shin-Midosuji and Route 2.

Umeda (梅田) is the main commercial and central business district in Kita-ku, Osaka, Japan, best known as the city's main northern railway terminus (Ōsaka Station, Umeda Station).
Umeda is a large traffic hub, as well as the principal office and hotel district. It is especially a street lined with large buildings at West-Umeda, Dojima and Nakanoshima, with over 40 prominent skyscrapers in the district. Umeda is also known for shopping: four of the city's largest department stores (Hanshin, Hankyu, Daimaru, and Isetan) are located there, as well as several shopping malls, such as Diamor Osaka, HEP Five, HEP Navio, and Whity Osaka.
The district's name means "plum field". It was originally written as "buried field" (埋田), because the area had been agricultural and was filled in to accommodate the new train station in the 1870s. There are several theories as to why the kanji changed, although most people[who?] seem to believe that the old characters merely carried a negative connotation.[citation needed]

Umeda Sky Building (梅田スカイビル), part of New Umeda City, is one of Osaka's most recognizable icons and is the 12th tallest building in Osaka. The 40 story building comprises the Floating Garden Observatory which is a popular tourist attraction of Osaka. Rising 40-stories (173m) in the air, you can get an excellent bird's eye view of the sprawling metropolis at the Floating Garden Observatory as well as the roof-top observatory. Mostly some shopping that was going on. In case anybody wants to know where I went, I was near Umeda station where Osaka's street is filled with shopping malls. From Hankyuu Mens/Women, Whity Mall, Lucua mall, Yodabashi mall and even Daimaru! There's a lot guys. It's just crazy. I couldn't film much inside the stores. Weeee! I decided to put up some random clips from Osaka! Mostly some shopping that was going on. In case anybody wants to know where I went, I was near Umeda station where Osaka's street is filled with shopping malls. Holistic Strata is a YCAM original production developed with the Center's expert staff during the artist's stay in Yamaguchi, with the aim to break new ground in the filed of body expression integrating media technology.
Based on his own set designs mixing imagery and sound, Hiroaki Umeda equivalently combines in his pieces elements of light, sound, and the human body. For his audiences, these performances are opportunities to experience their own bodies' primary reactions triggered by intensely stimulating light and sound. Visitors to the performance at YCAM are likely to witness another leap forward by the choreographer who has been harnessing information technology to conquer the world with nothing but his body and a computer. Last day in Osaka | Umeda Hanging Garden | Couple Travel Vlog | Osaka Japan
The Umeda Sky building is a pair of skyscrapers connected at the top floor. At the connection in the middle, you will find the Umeda “Hanging” Garden. You will have to ride the elevator up to the 40th floor and then use the escalator (with a spectacular view if i may add) to get to the main observatory. The observatory is open to the whole sky which provides a 360 panoramic view of Osaka unlike anywhere else. In our opinion, it is more of an observatory than a garden but don't let that stop you from going to the top. The view is mesmerizing especially at night, with all the stars and you can see Osaka twinkle up with all the lights from the tall buildings surrounding the area. I visited Shitennoji Temple, Dotonbori, Umeda Sky Building, and Spa World. Had an awesome time :) even if I did get lost quite a bit like a true gaijin. In a slight change of itinerary from our original plan, we decided to head to Kyoto today. It really was an easy decision considering we didn't really like the hotel in Osaka we booked. The Umeda Sky building is a pair of skyscrapers connected at the top floor. At the connection in the middle, you will find the Umeda “Hanging” Garden.
You will have to ride the elevator up to the 40th floor and then use the escalator (with a spectacular view if i may add) to get to the main observatory. The observatory is open to the whole sky which provides a 360 panoramic view of Osaka unlike anywhere else.
In our opinion, it is more of an observatory than a garden but don't let that stop you from going to the top. The view is mesmerizing especially at night, with all the stars and you can see Osaka twinkle up with all the lights from the tall buildings surrounding the area.
Bonus: There was a Christmas town outside the buildings during the time of our visit.
Horai 551: The famous buns of Osaka! The dough is moist, fluffy and filled with packed pork filling. Every bite is full taste of the filling inside. One of the best pork buns we ever had. Do yourself a favor and get one while in Osaka, this delicious snack is not available in some parts of japan.

My first stop travelling in Japan was Osaka! I visited Shitennoji Temple, Dotonbori, Umeda Sky Building, and Spa World. Had an awesome time :) even if I did get lost quite a bit like a true gaijin.
Something I forgot to mention in the video, and this is very important, is food! Osaka is famous for takoyaki and okonomiyaki so be sure to try those out.
In case you're wondering about attractions costs, here's a summary:
Shitennoji temple - free
Dotonbori - free (unless you buy stuff...which you probably will)
Umeda Sky Building - 800 yen
Osaka Castle Museum - 600 yen
Spa World - 2400 yen (3 hour use)
Note: There are many more traditional onsen that would be cheaper than Spa World, probably costings about 500 yen

In a slight change of itinerary from our original plan, we decided to head to Kyoto today. It really was an easy decision considering we didn't really like the hotel in Osaka we booked. We walked the 30 minutes to Osaka Station. Confusingly, there are at least three railway stations in the middle of Osaka all next to each other, JR Osaka Station, Umeda Station for trains, and Umeda Station for the subway. Easy. We caught the local train bound for Shin-Osaka Station, then the Shinkansen bound for Kyoto.
Kathryn watches a YouTube vlogger called Alli Speed (used to be Alli Trippy, formerly married to Charles Trippy), who recently visited Kyoto, and recommended going to the Fox Shrine, or Fushimi Inari, and so we did. From Kyoto Station, we caught the local train to Inari Station, and saw the temple.
Fushimi Inari is famous for Torii, or red gates. Japanese companies donate these gates with their names on them to the shrine in exchange for good luck in business. Or something like that, I'm a little bit rough in my story telling. It’s a nice walk through the gates, and very peaceful compared to Tokyo and Osaka. When you're constantly surrounded by people like ants, in the train stations, the subway stations, the department stores, it’s really nice to be in a place that’s relatively still, calm, quiet, and peaceful. I'm not suggesting we live there, but sometimes it’s nice to take a time out.
We then caught a couple of subways to the next destination, Nanzen-ji Temple, once again, on Alli’s recommendation. We found it to be lovely and peaceful, with perfectly sculptured gardens. The rock gardens are a personal favourite of Kathryn and mine, the way they look like rocks in a river, with the water flowing around them is very peaceful. Monks go out every day and rake the currents around the rocks, without leaving footprints, which is very impressive.
From here, we'd had our fill of nature, so decided to head back to Kyoto Station. But first, it was time for lunch. We saw a little cafe, and sat down. Turns out there were two sections, and we sat in the smoking section. A smoking section, in a cafe! This was literally disgusting. This isn't just standing downwind of one person smoking at a bus stop. Not even the same as hanging out with the smokers outside of D4. This was a cafe filled with people smoking, and that smoke wasn't going anywhere fast. We had some pizza, spaghetti, and other things, but we left in a hurry, so quickly that Kathryn didn't even finish her meal.
All major city train stations are massive, but Kyoto Station’s architecture is really awesome. As you come up through the subway, the space opens up into this massive covered area, with an open air roof 10 stories above you, and escalators taking you up a terraced space.
From Kyoto, I intended to show Kathryn how easy it was to reach our local subway station. Just catch the Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka Station, transfer on the subway line to Umeda Station, walk to Higashi-Umeda Station, then transfer on another subway line to Minami Morimachi station.
Yeah, it sucked, and had lots of transfers. Really, the area of Osaka we picked didn’t have too much going for it. When you're used to public transport being on your doorstep and taking you anywhere, walking for 20 minutes to a subway station gets pretty tiring.
