Northern District or North District may refer to several places:
The Far North District of New Zealand, as its name suggests, is the northernmost district within New Zealand, consisting of the northern tip of the North Island. The current mayor is former local Member of Parliament John Carter.
The Far North District is the largest of three territorial authorities making up the Northland Region. The district stretches from the capes and bays at the northern tip of the Aupouri Peninsula past Ninety Mile Beach to the main body of the North Auckland Peninsula, where it encompasses both the Bay of Islands and Hokianga.
It borders on the Kaipara and Whangarei Districts, which are the other two territorial authorities in the Northland Region.
The northernmost town in the district is Kaitaia. There is a cluster of towns on the east coast around the Bay of Islands, (Kerikeri, Paihia, Russell, Opua, Kawakawa and Moerewa), the town of Kaikohe centrally situated to the west of them, and a cluster of small settlements on the west coast surrounding the Hokianga Harbour (Omapere, Opononi, Rawene, Panguru, Kohukohu, and Horeke).

New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ new-ZEE-lənd, Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses – that of the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Māui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu – and numerous smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long isolation, New Zealand developed a distinctive biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.
Somewhere between 1250 and 1300 CE, Polynesians settled in the islands that were to become New Zealand, and developed a distinctive Māori culture. In 1642, Abel Tasman, a Dutch explorer, became the first European to sight New Zealand. In 1840, representatives of the British Crown and Māori Chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, making New Zealand a British colony. Today, the majority of New Zealand's population of 4.5 million is of European descent; the indigenous Māori are the largest minority, followed by Asians and Pacific Islanders. Reflecting this, New Zealand's culture is mainly derived from Māori and early British settlers, with recent broadening arising from increased immigration. The official languages are English, Māori and New Zealand Sign Language, with English predominant.

On the sleeper yet again down the Highland Mainline from Inverness, onto the West Coast Mainline down to Euston on Wednesday 18th (into 19th) June 2014. The service leaves Inverness at 20:44, but due to how far north it is sunset isn't until nearly 22:30! Meaning the first several hours are still in complete daylight. Sunrise further south in the Lake District was just after 4am, so there was only a few hours of darkness all night! Even after 11pm the sky wasn't completely dark and by 3am colour was starting to come through on the horizon again. I took advantage of the daylight and tried to cover as much of the journey on camera as I possibly could, hense the rather long video....

North Carolina, along with every other state, has an unprecedented opportunity to expand health coverage to its most vulnerable residents. Currently, 30 states plus the District of Columbia have broadened Medicaid eligibility with financing available from the Affordable Care Act. So far, legislators in North Carolina, along with the Governor, have blocked these federal funds from expanding access to health care, boosting the state’s economy and bolstering rural hospitals. Closing the health insurance coverage gap in North Carolina would provide better access to medical services and treatment for 500,000 working poor families. Many of the people locked out of the system have treatable, chronic diseases. An estimated 150,000 are living with substance use disorders. Millions in our state are...
Sorry guys, this video is mostly in French because I wanted to translate this interview for the French people who don't speak English. I thought it was quite shameful that it was never translated to French before. CORRECTION: For "The Green Cagoule", the location is not "The Light District" as I said in this video, but "The Lake District" which is a fabulous place not very far from Scotland, in the North of England and almost just in front of the Isle of Man.
