However, that benefit is overridden by the fact that the lining of canned tomatoes contains chemicals that disrupt hormonal activity in the body. The chemical Bisphenol A, also known as ‘BPA’, actually oozes from the lining and into the tomatoes. This chemical is well known for its toxic properties, and has been linked to different cancers, heart disease and reproductive problems. Number 9: Processed Meats Processed meats are created using excessive amounts of salt and chemicals that are well known for damaging our health. A study once revealed that 1 out of 17 people that died during a 13 year period consumed at least 160 grams of processed meat on a regular basis. That amounts to 44 percent cancer risk, as opposed to people who ate 20 grams or less. These meats are flooded with preservatives in order to make them look fresh, but they are actually well-known carcinogens, a substance commonly found in cigarette smoke. Not only do these scrumptious snacks cause weight gain, they also contain excessive levels of sodium, which in turn causes high blood pressure. A carcinogen found in cigarettes known as acrylamide, further contributes to the deadliness of potato chips. You may as well smoke a cigarette to suppress your appetite instead... Number 7: Microwave Popcorn Microwave Popcorn contains, perfluorooctanoic acid which is a likely carcinogen. The artificial butter contains a different chemical that damages the lungs when inhaled. A Colorado court once awarded a man a $7.2 million settlement for “popcorn lung” which is a lung condition caused by inhaling too much microwave popcorn. Number 6: Diet Foods Products that are labelled “fat-free” or “low fat” often have those missing products replaced with chemicals… These products are substituted with artificial colors, flavors, and more… Number 5: Red Meats Studies have confirmed that consuming red meats increases your risk of developing cancer… A sugar module called Neu5Gc becomes one of your own cells once you consume it… it is then attacked, resulting in inflammation and a higher cancer risk.
