Sunday (i/ˈsʌndeɪ/ or /ˈsʌndi/) is the day of the week following Saturday but before Monday. For most Christians, Sunday is observed as a day of worship and rest, holding it as the Lord's Day and the day of Christ's resurrection. Sunday is a day of rest in most Western countries, part of 'the weekend'. In some Muslim countries and Israel, Sunday is the first work day of the week. According to the Hebrew calendars and traditional Christian calendars, Sunday is the first day of the week, and according to the International Organization for Standardization ISO 8601 Sunday is the seventh and last day of the week. No century in the Gregorian calendar starts on a Sunday, whether its first year is considered to be '00 or '01. The Jewish New Year never falls on a Sunday. (The rules of the Hebrew calendar are designed such that the first day of Rosh Hashanah will never occur on the first, fourth, or sixth day of the Jewish week; i.e., Sunday, Wednesday, or Friday).
Sunday, being the day of the Sun, as the name of the first day of the week, is derived from Hellenistic astrology, where the seven planets, known in English as Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury and the Moon, each had an hour of the day assigned to them, and the planet which was regent during the first hour of any day of the week gave its name to that day. During the 1st and 2nd century, the week of seven days was introduced into Rome from Egypt, and the Roman names of the planets were given to each successive day.
Sunday Afternoon is the fifth studio album by Canadian country music artist Aaron Lines. It was released on March 16, 2010 by On Ramp Records. Included are the singles "Sand" and "I Haven't Even Heard You Cry."
A Lighter Shade of Brown (LSOB) was a Mexican American hip hop duo from Riverside, California best known for their 1990 hit single "On a Sunday Afternoon", a success in the U.S., written by songwriters/musicians David Dunson & Micah Carson.
LSOB was formed in 1990 by One Dope Mexican (Robert Gutierrez) and Don't Try To Xerox (Bobby Ramirez). They recorded demos and landed a record deal soon after with small independent label Pump. Their debut album, 1990's "Brown and Proud," brought the group their lone Top 40 single in the U.S. with "On A Sunday Afternoon," which contained samples of The Young Rascals' 1967 hit "Groovin' " and Tommy James and the Shondells' 1969 hit "Crystal Blue Persuasion" and peaked at #39 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also went to #1 for 2 weeks in New Zealand.
The duo provided songs for Latino-market movies such as Mi Vida Loca and I Like It Like That following the release of their second LP, 1992's '"Hip Hop Locos," which failed to chart. The success of "Sunday Afternoon" nonetheless resulted in Mercury Records signing the group and releasing their third disc, Layin' in the Cut, in 1994. The record did not sell as well as was hoped, peaking at #184 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. LSOB went on a temporary hiatus, returning in 1997 on indie with Danny "Dice" and Eric "Bajo" Thump Records. Their self-titled fourth album featured guest appearances from Rappin' 4-Tay and Dwayne Wiggins of Tony! Toni! Toné!.
"Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" is a song by the British rock band Queen, originally released on their fourth studio album A Night at the Opera in 1975. It is one of five contributions by Freddie Mercury to the band's 1975 album.
"Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon" is one of Queen's shortest songs; at just over one minute long it is the shortest song on the album. Mercury played piano and did all of the vocals on the record. The lead vocal was sung in the studio and reproduced through headphones in a tin bucket elsewhere in the studio. A microphone picked up the sound from the bucket, which gives it a hollow "megaphone" sound. The song's guitar solo was also recorded on the vocal track according to the album's co-producer Roy Thomas Baker on the Classic Albums documentary in 2005.
The key change going into the guitar solo (Eb to A) is a tritone relationship, making it a jarring, but very effective, transition into the key of E minor for the next track, "I'm in Love with My Car".

Awesome song from awesome band ;P LYRICS: The tax man's taken all my dough, And left me in this stately home, Lazing on a sunny afternoon. And I can't sail my yacht, He's taken everything I got, All I've got's this sunny afternoon. Save me, save me, save me from this squeeze. I gotta big fat mama trying to break me. And I love to live so pleasantly, Live this life of luxury, Lazing on a sunny afternoon. In a summertime (3x) My girlfriend's run off with my car, And gone back to her ma and pa, Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty. Now I'm sitting here, Sipping at my ice cold beer, Lazing on a sunny afternoon. Help me, help me, help me sail away, Well give me two good reasons why I oughta stay. 'Cause I love to live so pleasantly, Live this life of luxury, ...

The Sunday Afternoon Session of the April 2016 General Conference.
Salvador
The afternoon sunlight
Is folding around us
The dishes are done
The buildings here
Tall as our mountains
Slice through the windows
And cut off the sun
On such days I find
I am longing for Puerto Rico
Though I never would return
'Til you are free
But when I hear the Aguinaldo
My heart's a little lighter
And we dance together Aurea and me
In my life, I've been
Unlucky with two husbands
Gumersindo liked his
Rum and women friends
Then that hypocrite who beat you
And preached about repentance
Has gone and so another Sunday ends
And tomorrow is another
Hard working Monday
I'm still hoping for
The raise they promised me
There's a job as operator
I would not have to wait for
If I could speak the language easily
But I tell Aurea
The barrio's boundaries
Are our own little nation
Sometimes, I hear you run upstairs
And I view my light with resignation
Keep your Bible near you
