I've had this video planned for a long time, and I finally got around to making it! Hopefully this will answer any questions you have about the process and be easy to follow.

This could be made without a machine. Use a hemming stitch to turn over the hem, slip stitch the waistband on and whip stitch the underside. Backstitch the back seam and zipper. It will take longer but is totally doable!

A skirt is a tube- or cone-shaped garment that hangs from the waist and covers all or part of the legs.
In the western world, skirts are usually considered women's clothing. However, there are exceptions. The kilt is a traditional men's garment in Scotland, and some fashion designers, such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, have shown men's skirts.
At its simplest, a skirt can be a draped garment made out of a single piece of material (such as pareos), but most skirts are fitted to the body at the waist and fuller below, with the fullness introduced by means of dart, gores, pleats, or panels. Modern skirts are usually made of light to mid-weight fabrics, such as denim, jersey, worsted, or poplin. Skirts of thin or clingy fabrics are often worn with slips to make the material of the skirt drape better and for modesty.
The hemline of skirts varies according to the personal taste of the wearer which can be influenced by such factors as social context, fashion, and cultural conceptions of modesty.
Some medieval upper-class women wore skirts over three metres in diameter at the bottom.[citation needed] At the other extreme, the miniskirts of the 1960s were minimal garments that may have barely covered the underwear when seated.

More info: This could be made without a machine. Use a hemming stitch to turn over the hem, slip stitch the waistband on and whip stitch the underside. Backstitch the back seam and zipper. This could be made without a machine. Use a hemming stitch to turn over the hem, slip stitch the waistband on and whip stitch the underside. Backstitch the back seam and zipper. It will take longer but is totally doable!

The multiple stitches skirt is for the small/medium size, but it can be adjustable to fit many sizes. For the knee length (regular) skirt the top-down crochet technique was used. To crochet a mid-calf (midi) or ankle length (maxi) skirt, it is necessary to repeat the middle stitches/patterns until you reach the desired length of the crochet item. All of the stitches that were used in this project are from my other crochet projects. This simple pattern doesn’t require increasing or decreasing chains as well as a lot of prior crochet experience. -

DIY: pleated lolita skirt with a zipper (tutorial)
Here is a requested video! I'd say that the difficulty would be 2,5 (one being easy and quick, five hard and time consuming) mostly because of the zipper. Because the skirt is pleated there is no shirring so the skirt has to be the right size with very little margin for error, or the waistband will sag or the zipper won't close all the way. Other than that, it's quite easy! Pleating takes a lot of time and pins but is quite easy. The multiple stitches skirt is for the small/medium size, but it can be adjustable to fit many sizes. For the knee length (regular) skirt the top-down crochet technique was used. To crochet a mid-calf (midi) or ankle length (maxi) skirt, it is necessary to repeat the middle stitches/patterns until you reach the desired length of the crochet item. All of the stitches that were used in this project are from my other crochet projects. This simple pattern doesn’t require increasing or decreasing chains as well as a lot of prior crochet experience.

Here is a requested video! I'd say that the difficulty would be 2,5 (one being easy and quick, five hard and time consuming) mostly because of the zipper. Because the skirt is pleated there is no shirring so the skirt has to be the right size with very little margin for error, or the waistband will sag or the zipper won't close all the way. Other than that, it's quite easy! Pleating takes a lot of time and pins but is quite easy. Please don't hesitate to ask if there is any additional things you would like to know or something is unclear! :)
