The Queensland Government is investing in a new tertiary teaching hospital on the Sunshine Coast to meet growing demand for hospital services and train local residents to be the health workforce of the future. Queensland Health has entered into a contract with Exemplar Health to design, finance, construct and maintain the hospital buildings for a period of 25 years once the hospital opens.
The Sunshine Coast University Hospital masterplan delivers a new tertiary hospital campus that draws on the natural healing environment of the Sunshine Coast. The hospital masterplan interleaves buildings with green spaces to enable patients, visitors and staff to freely access attractive landscaped spaces, blurring the distinction between internal and external environments to reflect the relaxed Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

Gold Coast University Hospital (abbreviated GCUH or GCH, and sometimes Gold Coast Uni Hospital) is a major health facility offering tertiary level health care for the Gold Coast, Australia, completed in September 2013.[1] The hospital was built on the Greenfields site adjacent to Griffith University Gold Coast campus at a cost of $1.8 billion.
Construction commenced on 16 December 2008 when Queensland Premier Anna Bligh turned the first sod. Bovis Lend Lease built the hospital.
The new 750-bed medical facility which services include specialist cancer and cardiac services, neurosciences, trauma and neonatal intensive care. The hospital has seven main buildings, with a total floor space of approximately 170,000 m2 (1,800,000 sq ft) (excluding car parks). The main nine-level-high building is topped with a helicopter landing site.
On 27th of September 2013, Queensland Health officially shutdown services at the Gold Coast Hospital, and transferred the remaining patients from the old Gold Coast Hospital to the new Gold Coast University Hospital.
The Gold Coast University Hospital is the primary teaching hospital for medical students (student doctors) of Bond University and Griffith University's medical schools. And like most Australian public state hospitals, it is an accredited site for further postgraduate residency training of medical practitioners.

Gold Coast University Hospital (abbreviated GCUH or GCH, and sometimes Gold Coast Uni Hospital) is a major health facility offering tertiary level health care for the Gold Coast, Australia, completed in September 2013.[1] The hospital was built on the Greenfields site adjacent to Griffith University Gold Coast campus at a cost of $1.8 billion.
Construction commenced on 16 December 2008 when Queensland Premier Anna Bligh turned the first sod. Bovis Lend Lease built the hospital.
The new 750-bed medical facility which services include specialist cancer and cardiac services, neurosciences, trauma and neonatal intensive care. The hospital has seven main buildings, with a total floor space of approximately 170,000 m2 (1,800,000 sq ft) (excluding car parks). The main nine-level-high building is topped with a helicopter landing site.
On 27th of September 2013, Queensland Health officially shutdown services at the Gold Coast Hospital, and transferred the remaining patients from the old Gold Coast Hospital to the new Gold Coast University Hospital.
The Gold Coast University Hospital is the primary teaching hospital for medical students (student doctors) of Bond University and Griffith University's medical schools. And like most Australian public state hospitals, it is an accredited site for further postgraduate residency training of medical practitioners.

An oxygen cylinder blast inside the emergency ward of the Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi today injured 12 people including the nursing staff. The injured were rushed to the trauma center of the hospital. The police have cordoned off the affected area. Eyewitness accounts say the false ceiling of the ward came crashing down and the window panes were shattered from the explosion, which took place near the reception area at the Sir Sunderlal Hospital. According to reports, the hospital was full of patients when the loud sound created panic. An oxygen cylinder blast inside the emergency ward of the Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi today injured 12 people including the nursing staff.

An oxygen cylinder blast inside the emergency ward of the Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi today injured 12 people including the nursing staff.
The injured were rushed to the trauma center of the hospital. The police have cordoned off the affected area.
Eyewitness accounts say the false ceiling of the ward came crashing down and the window panes were shattered from the explosion, which took place near the reception area at the Sir Sunderlal Hospital.
According to reports, the hospital was full of patients when the loud sound created panic. Fire engines also immediately rushed to the hospital, however, there was no incident of a fire outbreak.

Tour video dedicated to Beno's random lift tour. Thiis tour is limited to the main building from the 70s and surrounding buildings from the late 80's. These also include the mortuary elevator - creepy! The original main structure features 13 elevators built by OTIS. Five passenger ones, five bed-only ones and a set of three elevators (one big, two small) in the LFI research building. Other EMTs will join the presentation to provide attendees with an engaging experience that promises to be entertaining as well as educational. Additional highlights will include a quick overview of CPR and the use of an AED, as well as a simulated drunken driving demonstration.
The event is moderated by James L. Capozzi, MD, Chairman, Winthrop’s Department of Orthopaedics.
Mr. Ferrucci is a former Fire Department Chief, Nassau County Police Officer, Detective and Investigator in the Nassau County Homicide Squad. What would you do in the event of an emergency? Are you aware of the information needed to relay to police or the fire department? What about power outages or wires down on your vehicle – or even terrorism threats? Kitchen fires, auto accidents, heart attacks – we cover it all.
Gary T. Ferrucci, PC, EMT-CC, CIC, an expert EMS Coordinator and senior member of the Valley Stream Fire Department, will address a variety of emergencies, including but not limited to, weather, medical, chemical and more. Detective Laurel Tobias, from the Nassau County Crime Scene Unit, also provides valuable insight.
Other EMTs will join the presentation to provide attendees with an engaging experience that promises to be entertaining as well as educational. Additional highlights will include a quick overview of CPR and the use of an AED, as well as a simulated drunken driving demonstration.
The event is moderated by James L. Capozzi, MD, Chairman, Winthrop’s Department of Orthopaedics.
Mr. Ferrucci is a former Fire Department Chief, Nassau County Police Officer, Detective and Investigator in the Nassau County Homicide Squad.
