LONDON — A commercial plane collided with a drone near London's busy Heathrow Airport, in what may be the first incident of its kind in the country. BBC reports that British Airways flight BA 727 bound for London took off from Geneva on the morning of April 17. The Airbus A320 was approaching Heathrow Airport around noon when a drone hit the front of the plane. The pilot reported the drone strike after safely landing the plane. All 132 passengers and five crew members were unhurt by the incident. An investigation into the incident has been launched, and will be led by the Metropolitan Police's aviation security unit in Heathrow. Since August 2015, there have been six reported incidents of drones being flown at UK airports. Four have been serious Category A near-misses, reported in London, and at Stansted, Heathrow, and Manchester airports. According to a guide published by the Civil Aviation Authority, it does not allow drones being flown so close to airports or any congested public areas. Join us for our flight from London Heathrow to Seoul, in British Airways Club World Business Class on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The seating is tight but the layout works well if you are with someone. The crew were nice and we got a personal welcome. Food was very tasty, although having to choose between cheese and dessert felt a bit sub standard. I can backup all the praise that is given to the Dreamliner regarding quietness and air quality. While a Wonderfull experience that will appeal to many - there are better business class offerings out there 7/10. Most of the footage is 4K, although I didn't get the time lapses in this resolution. A trip report on a flight I took on March 25, 2016 on British Airways from San Francisco to London Heathrow. The seats and equipment on this 747-400 is clearly beginning to show their age, but still comfortable for a 10 hour flight. One of the Flight Attendants were initially very cold and disinterested, but warmed up during the flight. Service was prompt and my glass was always topped off. The extensive amenity kit and pajamas were a nice touch. Turndown service was also very much appreciated. Food was mediocre, but not bad. Overall, I would give this flight an 8.5 out of 10. Clearly, the seat, service and food was better in First Class than Business Class which I previously reviewed.
