To Gin or not to Gin
GIN!
Start with the basics: a well-made gin and tonic. It's important to measure gin drinks properly so follow a recipe from a good book and stick to it.
Fresh ingredients and quality ice will also make the drink experience even better!
Gin and Tonic
3 parts (oz.) Gin (London Dry Gins are the world's most popular for this style of mixed drink)
1 part (oz.) tonic
Fill a rocks glass with ice, pour ingredients over, stir and garnish with a fresh slice of lime or lemon.
Negroni
An absolute classic cocktail from Italy around the 1920s.
Equal parts Gin, Campari and Vermouth
1 part (oz.) Gin
1 part (oz.) Campari
1 part (oz.) sweet red Vermouth
Combine spirits over ice into a rocks glass, stir well and garnish with an orange wedge or wheel.
I've sometimes seen a cherry added to cut down on the bitterness, however this is an aperitif cocktail, so it's meant to be but never feel like you cannot add a special touch, your own personal addition to a cocktail if in your mind it makes it better, special, or more delicious!
Bramble
I think it's right up there with The Aviation cocktail and The Negroni as one of the best cocktails ever created!
Dick Bradsell, Soho area of London, UK, 1980s. There are many homage cocktails and variations of this one. Find the best one fit for you. Addition of the fruit aspect removes some of the gin aromas and flavours.
2 parts (oz.) Gin
3/4 part (oz.) Crème de Mure / Chambord / Crème de Cassis
1/2 part (oz.) simple syrup 1:1 ratio
3/4 part (oz.) fresh squeezed lemon juice
Combine ingredients over ice in a mixing glass, stir well strain into chilled cocktail or Collins glass.
Variations:
Add muddled black/ red fruits ( raspberries, blackberries) prior to stirring.
Add Crème or Cassis at the end to create a marbled effect to the look of the drink.

Martini
1 part (oz.) Gin
1/2oz. dry white Vermouth
Rinse chilled cocktail glass with Vermouth (swirl) and dispense the extra (ie.dump into sink what doesn't stay on the inside walls of the glass).
Pour gin over ice in a drinks mixer, stir, strain into Vermouth rinsed cocktail glass.
Garnish with a fresh lemon zest.
Enjoy the Gin cocktails one and all.... mostly all! Make, drink, repeat!

"Gin and Juice" is the second single by rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg from his debut album Doggystyle. The song pays homage to Seagrams and Tanqueray gin. Gin is a spirit which derives its predominant flavour from juniper berries (Juniperus communis). From its earliest beginnings in the Middle Ages, gin has evolved over the course of a millennium from an herbal medicine to an object of commerce in the spirits industry. Today, the gin category is one of the most popular and widely distributed range of spirits, and is represented by products of various origins, styles, and flavor profiles that all revolve around juniper as a common ingredient.
The name gin is derived from either the French genièvre or the Dutch jenever, which both mean "juniper".
Although several different styles of gin have evolved, it is legally differentiated into four categories in the European Union, with two of those four (Distilled Gin and Compound Gin) being officially recognised in the United States.
The official European Union classifications are as follows:
Juniper-Flavoured Spirit Drinks - This represents the earliest class of gin, which is produced by pot distilling alcoholic grain wash and redistilling it with botanicals to extract the aromatic compounds. Due to the use of pot stills, the alcohol content of the distillate is relatively low (e.g. 68% ABV). This type of gin is sometimes aged in wooden barrels, retains varying degrees of flavour from the grain as a result of its distillation method and may be bottled with a strength as low as 30% ABV. Geneva Gin or Holland Gin is the most prominent gin of this class.

Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. (born October 20, 1971), better known by his stage name Snoop Dogg (formerly known as Snoop Doggy Dogg), is an American rapper, record producer, and actor. Snoop is best known as a rapper in the West Coast hip hop scene, and for being one of Dr. Dre's most notable protégés. Snoop Dogg was a Crip gang member while in high school. Shortly after graduation, he was arrested for cocaine possession and spent six months in Wayside County Jail. His music career began in 1992 after his release when he was discovered by Dr. Dre. He collaborated on several tracks on Dre's solo debut, The Chronic and on the titular theme song to the film Deep Cover.
Snoop's debut album Doggystyle, was released in 1993 under Death Row Records making a debut at No.1 on both the Billboard 200 and R&B charts. Selling almost a million copies in the first week of its release, Doggystyle quickly became certified 4× platinum in 1994 and spawned several hit singles, including "What's My Name" and "Gin & Juice". "Gin and Juice" is the second single by rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg from his debut album Doggystyle. The song pays homage to Seagrams and Tanqueray gin. A top 10 hit single on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, peaking at number eight, "Gin and Juice" was nominated for the 1995 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance. It was voted the 69th Greatest Rap song as ranked in rap.about.com and number eight on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop. The song's music video, directed by Dr. Dre, Calvin Caday and Anita Sisaath, also producers of GBFL's "Dear Mama", features a simple concept: teenager Snoop throws a wild house party after his parents leave the house. Ricky Harris plays Snoop's father, and Dr. Dre, Warren G, Nate Dogg and Daz Dillinger make cameo appearances. Six-year-old rapper, Lil Bow Wow, plays Snoop's little brother who is jumping on the couch in the intro. To Gin or not to Gin
GIN!
Start with the basics: a well-made gin and tonic. It's important to measure gin drinks properly so follow a recipe from a good book and stick to it.
Fresh ingredients and quality ice will also make the drink experience even better!
Gin and Tonic
3 parts (oz.) Gin (London Dry Gins are the world's most popular for this style of mixed drink)
1 part (oz.) tonic
Fill a rocks glass with ice, pour ingredients over, stir and garnish with a fresh slice of lime or lemon.
Negroni
An absolute classic cocktail from Italy around the 1920s.
Equal parts Gin, Campari and Vermouth
1 part (oz.) Gin
1 part (oz.) Campari
1 part (oz.) sweet red Vermouth
Combine spirits over ice into a rocks glass, stir well and garnish with an orange wedge or wheel.
I've sometimes seen a cherry added to cut down on the bitterness, however this is an aperitif cocktail, so it's meant to be but never feel like you cannot add a special touch, your own personal addition to a cocktail if in your mind it makes it better, special, or more delicious!
Bramble
I think it's right up there with The Aviation cocktail and The Negroni as one of the best cocktails ever created!
Dick Bradsell, Soho area of London, UK, 1980s. There are many homage cocktails and variations of this one. Find the best one fit for you. Addition of the fruit aspect removes some of the gin aromas and flavours.
2 parts (oz.) Gin
3/4 part (oz.) Crème de Mure / Chambord / Crème de Cassis
1/2 part (oz.) simple syrup 1:1 ratio
3/4 part (oz.) fresh squeezed lemon juice
Combine ingredients over ice in a mixing glass, stir well strain into chilled cocktail or Collins glass.
Variations:
Add muddled black/ red fruits ( raspberries, blackberries) prior to stirring.
Add Crème or Cassis at the end to create a marbled effect to the look of the drink.

Martini
1 part (oz.) Gin
1/2oz. dry white Vermouth
Rinse chilled cocktail glass with Vermouth (swirl) and dispense the extra (ie.dump into sink what doesn't stay on the inside walls of the glass).
Pour gin over ice in a drinks mixer, stir, strain into Vermouth rinsed cocktail glass.
Garnish with a fresh lemon zest.
Enjoy the Gin cocktails one and all.... mostly all! Make, drink, repeat!

To Gin or not to Gin
GIN!
Start with the basics: a well-made gin and tonic. It's important to measure gin drinks properly so follow a recipe from a good book and stick to it.
Fresh ingredients and quality ice will also make the drink experience even better!
Gin and Tonic
3 parts (oz.) Gin (London Dry Gins are the world's most popular for this style of mixed drink)
1 part (oz.) tonic
Fill a rocks glass with ice, pour ingredients over, stir and garnish with a fresh slice of lime or lemon.
Negroni
An absolute classic cocktail from Italy around the 1920s.
Equal parts Gin, Campari and Vermouth
1 part (oz.) Gin
1 part (oz.) Campari
1 part (oz.) sweet red Vermouth
Combine spirits over ice into a rocks glass, stir well and garnish with an orange wedge or wheel.
I've sometimes seen a cherry added to cut down on the bitterness, however this is an aperitif cocktail, so it's meant to be but never feel like you cannot add a special touch, your own personal addition to a cocktail if in your mind it makes it better, special, or more delicious!

I think it's right up there with The Aviation cocktail and The Negroni as one of the best cocktails ever created!
Dick Bradsell, Soho area of London, UK, 1980s. There are many homage cocktails and variations of this one. Find the best one fit for you. Addition of the fruit aspect removes some of the gin aromas and flavours.
2 parts (oz.) Gin
3/4 part (oz.) Crème de Mure / Chambord / Crème de Cassis
1/2 part (oz.) simple syrup 1:1 ratio
3/4 part (oz.) fresh squeezed lemon juice
Combine ingredients over ice in a mixing glass, stir well strain into chilled cocktail or Collins glass.
Variations:
Add muddled black/ red fruits ( raspberries, blackberries) prior to stirring.
Add Crème or Cassis at the end to create a marbled effect to the look of the drink.

Martini
1 part (oz.) Gin
1/2oz. dry white Vermouth
Rinse chilled cocktail glass with Vermouth (swirl) and dispense the extra (ie.dump into sink what doesn't stay on the inside walls of the glass).
Pour gin over ice in a drinks mixer, stir, strain into Vermouth rinsed cocktail glass.
Garnish with a fresh lemon zest.
Enjoy the Gin cocktails one and all.... mostly all! Make, drink, repeat!
