Vincent Paul Kartheiser (born May 5, 1979) is an American actor best known for playing Pete Campbell in Mad Men and Connor in the WB TV series Angel.
Kartheiser was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Janet Marie (née Gruyé), who ran a nursery, and James Ralph Kartheiser, who sold construction equipment. The youngest of six children, he has four sisters, Andrea, Colette, Elise and Theresa, and a brother, Nathan. He is of German, and to an extent Polish, Finnish, Swedish and Luxembourgian ancestry.
Some of Kartheiser’s first acting experiences were on stage of Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis, including roles in Pippi Longstocking, Our Town, Dr. Seuss’ The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins, and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.
He made his screen debut with a bit role in the 1993 film Untamed Heart. Kartheiser found himself cast in mostly family fare, including The Indian in the Cupboard (1995) and a starring role in the film Alaska (1996). The film led to Kartheiser getting the lead role in Masterminds the following year.
Mad Men star Vincent Kartheiser stopped by the Rolling Stone studio recently to chat about the evolution of his character, the high-strung ad man Pete Campbell. "He found his place in the world," says Kartheiser. "He knows where he fits, he knows where he has value at the agency, and it's something you need to figure out as a human being, because you will be in constant conflict if you don't. In seasons one and two, he thought he should be where Don [Draper] was, and in seasons three and four, he kind of figured it out." Kartheiser also explains that he has no interest in directing an episode of the series, as his co-stars Jon Hamm and John Slattery have done: "I'm just an actor. I'm very much kind of a one-trick pony and hardly even understand my own character, much less the entire theme ...

Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser are parents! The 34-year-old Gilmore Girls star and the 37-year-old Mad Men alum secretly welcomed their first child, a son, last fall. Alexis‘ co-star Scott Patterson spilled the beans. “She’s really blossomed as a woman and now she’s a proud new mother and married and happy,” he told Glamour. “She’s just the most likable, intelligent person and adorable human being. She hasn’t changed at all. She looks the same. We’re comparing notes because my son [born July 2014] is about a year and a half older than her young son. I’m showing her photos and videos and what to expect. We’re just really enjoying each other’s company.” Congrats to the happy couple on their bundle of joy!

MAD MEN STAR VINCENT KARTHEISER’S TINY HOLLYWOOD HOME For the most part, celebrity homes have seemed to follow the rule of bigger is better. But Mad Men star Vincent Kartheiser proves this is most certainly not always the case with his amazing 580 square foot abode. Kartheiser (better known as the always annoying Pete Campbell on the AMC hit series Mad Men) teamed up with designer Funn Roberts to transform the Hollywood space. The bungalow utilizes plenty of multi-functional designs from the headboard that doubles as a fold out desk to the multi-purpose shower and soaking tub. Roberts also opted for classic pieces like the Eames lounge and ottoman in the living room along with the Eames molded plastic chairs around the kitchen table. Our favorite part however, is the bed that raises and...
