In today's Guardian a classic from a 'branding-consultant'.

"If we came up with Pebbles as a name for a petro-chemical company, it would be derided. But nobody questions the name Shell as it has had years to come to mean something. And the same goes for Sandals as a name for a chemist. But what about Boots?" he added.

Er...surely Boots was named after Mr Boot? A Jesse from Nottingham I believe.
