Download App here: http://buymeapie.com/?utm_source=home_cooking_adventure&utm;_medium=youtube Ingredients Makes 12 big rolls Dough 3 1/2 cups (440g) flour + extra for dusting 25 g fresh yeast (2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast) 1 cup (240 ml) lukewarm milk 2 tbsp+1 tsp (30g +5g) sugar 1 tsp (5g) salt 2 eggs 4 tbsp (56g) oil or melted butter Filling 5 tbsp (70g) butter, at room temperature 2 tbsp (13g) ground cinnamon 1/2 cup (100g) packed light brown sugar Icing 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract 2 tbsp (30 ml) milk 1. Prepare the dough. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar over the yeast and 1/3 cup of the milk. Stir to dissolve. 2. In a large bowl combine flour, 2 tbsp sugar and salt. Add oil or melted butter, dissolved yeast, eggs and the rest of 2/3 cup milk. Stir to combine and knead until the dough is soft, a bit sticky but quite elastic and pulls away from the side of the bowl. If it feels too soft, you can add extra flour up to 1/2 cup (63g). Let it rest for 10 minutes. 3. In a small bowl combine butter with cinnamon and sugar. 4. On an oiled or floured surface roll the dough in a 12x18 inch (30x45cm) rectangle. Spread butter cinnamon mixture over the top of the rectangle. Roll the dough, seal the seam with water and cut into 12 equal size rolls. Place on a parchment paper lined (9x13 inch - 23x33cm) tray with 1/2 -1 inch (2 cm) distance between them to allow them to rise. 5. Cover with plastic wrap and let the rolls rise in a warm place for about one hour, until doubled in size. (if the tray is not too tall you might need to grease the plastic wrap so it doesn't stick). 6. Preheat oven to 350F (180 C). 7. Bake the rolls for about 15-20 minutes until lightly browned. 8. Prepare the glaze. Mix powdered sugar with vanilla and milk and before serving drizzle over the rolls. 9. Serve warm alongside a cup of milk. Saw this one on the Tasty Facebook page and wanted to try it for myself. I added in the extra cinnamon swirl (or tried to anyway, lol). ***NOTE*** Pillsbury has recently changed their cinnamon rolls and they no longer have the nice spiral in them! :( To me they are not as good as the older ones. I just realized this as I was editing this video. Is this just in Canada? Let me know. Cinnamon Swirl ingredients: 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup melted butter 1 tbsp white sugar 1 tsp cinnamon Stir these ingredients together and set aside. Open a package of refrigerated cinnamon rolls and cut them in half so you get two rounds for each roll. The rolls I had, had cinnamon sugar mix coating on one side. The the other piece that was plain, so I sprinkled some sugar and cinnamon on those. Prepare a white or yellow cake mix according to package directions. Fill cupcake liners to just over half with the mix. Typical cake mixes will make 24 cupcakes, but you will be getting 16 cinnamon bun topped ones with one package of rolls and a few plain cupcakes. Take a teaspoon of the cinnamon swirl mix and place it in the center of each muffin cup. Gently swirl with a toothpick until incorporated but not completely mixed. I may not have mixed mine enough and that's why it sunk to the bottom. Put cupcakes in the oven at 375F for 6 minutes. Remove from oven and place one cinnamon roll dough disk gently on top of the cupcake batter. Bake them for an additional 9 minutes or until the cinnamon buns are done and golden brown. Spread the frosting that came with the rolls on top of them. It will be spread fairly thin, so you may want to make up a small batch of frosting if you want more. These are best warm out of the oven. These red velvet cinnamon rolls are the stuff dreams are made of. Make these for your next brunch or even as a dessert and watch the sweet-toothed mobs ensue. Red Velvet Cinnamon Rolls From Alyssa Noui, POPSUGAR Food For the dough: 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour, divided 1/2 cup sugar 2 tablespoons cocoa powder 2 (1/4-ounce) packets active dry yeast 1 teaspoon salt 6 tablespoons butter 1 1/2 cups water 1 tablespoon red food coloring 1 egg For the filling: 1/2 cup sugar 2 teaspoons cinnamon 2 tablespoon cocoa powder 1/2 cup butter, softened For cream cheese frosting: 4 ounces cream cheese, softened 4 tablespoons butter, softened 2 cups powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pinch of salt To make the doug: Combine 2 cups of flour with sugar, cocoa powder, dry yeast, and salt in a stand up mixer fitted with a dough hook. Mix until combined. Microwave butter and water until warm but not hot to the touch, approximately 120ºF to 130ºF. Butter will not melt completely. Pour in red food coloring. Add to the flour mixture, followed by one egg, and beat for 2 minutes at high speed, scraping down the bowl occasionally. Add an additional 1cup of flour, and continue mixing. Stir in just enough remaining flour so the dough will form into a ball. Knead dough on heavily-floured surface for about 6 to 8 minutes, until smooth and elastic. The dough should spring back when lightly pressed. Cover with a towel and let rest for 10 minutes. For the filling, combine sugar, cinnamon, and cocoa powder in a small bowl. Set aside. Roll the dough into a 10" x 16" rectangle using a rolling pin. Spread butter over the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon mixture. Beginning at the long end of the rectangle, roll dough tightly, pinching to seal. Cut into equal 1-inch pieces using unflavored dental floss, or twine for a clean cut. Place rolls, cut side down, in a greased baking sheet. Cover with a towel and let rise for 45 to 60 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size. Preheat oven to 350ºF and bake for 23 to 28 minutes, or until rolls are golden on top and cooked through. Remove from oven and cool for 10 to 15 minutes. To make frosting: Combine cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until creamy. Spread evenly over rolls. Ceylon Cinnamon and Sri Lanka's affinity is so strong that the very botanical name of the spice - Cinnamomum Zeylanicum is derived from the island's former name, Ceylon. We ship worldwide. This week, I'm sharing with you my favorite no-knead method for making yeast dough. I think you'll enjoy this technique because you don't need a mixer, and the results are incredible. We'll be making BIG & BOLD Cinnamon Rolls and I hope these become some of your favorites as much as they are mine. So let's get baking! FULL RECIPE BELOW Gemma's Cinnamon Rolls (No Knead, No Mixer) Dough from (http://www.kingarthurflour.com/recipes/ridiculously-easy-no-knead-sticky-buns-recipe) INGREDIENTS Dough 3 1/2 cups (1 lb 1oz/ 470g) All-Purpose Flour 1/2 tablespoon salt 3/4 tablespoons dried yeast 1 cup (7oz/200g) milk ½ cups(3.5oz/100g) water 2 large eggs 1/4 cup (3oz/85g) honey 1/4 cup (2oz/60g) melted butter or vegetable oil For the Filling: 1/2 cup (4oz/120g) butter 1 1/4 cups ( 7 ½ oz /210g) packed light brown sugar 2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon 1 cup (4oz/100g)toasted pecans Cream Cheese Glaze: 4 oz (110g ) Cream cheese, room temperature 1 cup (120g) Powdered sugar 1/4 cup (1/2 stick/ 2oz)) Butter, room temperature 1/2 Tsp Vanilla extract METHOD 1. To make the dough, combine all of the dry ingredients in a very large bowl. 2. In a separate jug add in the milk, water, honey and butter. Heat it in the microwave until it is warm (at blood temperature) and the butter has melted. Whisk in the eggs quickly. 3. Stir the wet into the dry to make a sticky dough. You can simply mix with a spoon until there are no flour lumps yet. Scrape down the dough from the sides of the bowl. 4. Cover the bowl, and let the dough rise for 2 hours at cool room temperature. It will triple in size 5. After this, REFRIGERATE THE DOUGH FOR AT LEAST 8 HOURS, preferrably over night. It can be refrigerated for up to 3 days before using. 6. When you're ready to make your cinnamon rolls, make the filling. Combine the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Stir until smooth. Set aside. 7. Transfer the dough to a floured work surface, and roll it into a rectangle approximately 1/4" thick. It will be long so you can always do it in 2 goes. 8. Spread the filling over the dough, leaving a narrow margin around the edges uncovered. 9. Starting with a long edge, gently roll the dough into a log. Don't roll it too tightly; if you do, the centers of the buns will pop up as they bake. 10. Slice the rolls 2” thick and set them with their cinnamon face up 11. In a deep baking pan lined with parchment space the buns in the pan. (AT THIS POINT YOU CAN REFRIGERATE TO BAKE OFF THE FOLLOWING DAY IF YOU WISH) 12. Cover the pan, and allow the rolls to rise until they're have grown into each other and are puffed up, about 30-1 hour. (depending on how hot your kitchen is) (Towards the end of the rising time, preheat the oven to 375oF/ 190oC) 13. Uncover the pan, and bake the buns for 40 to 45 minutes, till they're a deep golden brown. Rotate the tray during baking so they can get golden brown all over. 14. While they are baking make your glaze: In a large bowl (or you can use a hand mixer) beat the cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla together with a whisk until well combined. 15. Remove the pan from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes. Once cooled remove from the pan and onto a cooling rack . 16. Spread your cream cheese glaze generously over the cinnamon rolls, and devour immediately,
