Disney's Hercules: The Animated Series is an American animated series based on the 1997 film of the same name and the Greek myth.
The series follows Hercules, as a teenager, training as a hero, as well as trying to adjust to life. With his free-spirited friend Icarus, his future-seeing friend Cassandra, and his teacher Philoctetes ("Phil"), he battles his evil uncle Hades. Like all teenagers though, Hercules has to worry about peer pressure when the snobbish prince Adonis ridicules him. The series notably contradicts several events in the original film.

Hercules is invited to join his father and mother for Titan Smashing Day, an event which commemorates Zeus' defeat of the Titan, Typhon (Regis Philbin). Echidna, who was Typhon's mate, seeks revenge, wreaking havoc on Athens, so to prove himself to his father, Hercules challenges her, but in doing so, inadvertently releases Typhon. He calls to Zeus for help, who begins to explain something, but is interrupted by the fight beginning. Evenly matched, a lightning bolt is thrown by Hera, who forces Echidna and Typhon to end the battle peaceably. Hera and Zeus explain that it was Hera who threw the bolt to buy time for Zeus to defeat Typhon, and father and son mutually agree that even a god isn't perfect.

Top Documentary Films - The Legend of Zeus
Metis the Goddess of wisdom was pregnant with Athene. Because Zeus felt that Athene would be so wise he felt it would be a threat to his power. He felt that Athena would be stronger than even his bolts. In order to prevent this from happening he tricked Metis and swallowed her whole. However, Metis was still able to conceive Athene and gods gave her birth through the way of his head. This is very important because it symbolically represents the birth of many great things in Greek thought and culture. Athena was a goddess of wisdom, war, and defender of heroes and justice. All the aspects combined create a unique and complex civilization.
There used to be a popular cartoon that would come on television that, Hercules. The cartoon was a series based off of the Disney movie which was the cartoon version of the Greek tale. In this cartoon Hercules had amazing adventures battling Gods and Creatures.
Unsurprisingly the Disney version changes the Greek story, so that Hercules main enemy is Hades (the god of the underworld). Although Disney did a horrible job of telling the story of Hercules, they were able to expose many people to Greek mythology.
I recognize Zeus from the cartoon, he was the most powerful God and he was the father of Hercules. In the cartoon Zeus is portrayed as a humble, loving, and kind father. Some of the other names I recognized were: Athene, Apollo, Artemis, Posedion, and Hera.
In order to rise to power Zeus had to first overthrow the ruler Cronos and the Titans. How he did this was with a clever strategy and with his might. What he did was gather a team of Gods to join his side. Then he made friends with the Cyclopes and other creatures. The combination of the Gods and boulders hurled from the powerful creatures was what led to Zeus becoming the ruler of the Gods. The war was ended with one last bolt that was driven by all of Zeus's fury and might.
The way Zeus came to power was similar to the way humans do things. There was a higher power in which no force at the time could stop. Zeus wanted to take them down and bring himself to the top. His method of doing so was gathering large forces because there is strength in numbers. It was simply a game of politics.

In the ancient Greek religion, Zeus (
/ˈzjuːs/ ZEWS;Ancient Greek: Ζεύς; Modern Greek: Δίας, Dias) is the "Father of Gods and men" (πατὴρ ἀνδρῶν τε θεῶν τε, patēr andrōn te theōn te) who rules the Olympians of Mount Olympus as a father rules the family. Zeus is the child of Cronus and Rhea, and the youngest of his siblings. In Hesiod's Theogony Zeus assigns the various gods their roles. In the Homeric Hymns he is referred to as the chieftain of the gods.

Disneys Hercules Season 1 Episode 2 Hercules and the King of Thessaly When King Salmoneus (Jeffrey Tambor) impersonates Zeus, the king of the gods smites him for his gall. The good people of Thessaly, however, turn to Hercules for leadership and crown him as their new king instead. Hercules at first enjoys his new position; but when the people come to him with all their troubles, he has second thoughts, and tries to leave, only to be reminded by Zeus and Hera (Samantha Eggar) how proud they are of him. Hercules reluctantly stays, while Salmoneus schemes with Pain and Panic (who tried to take him to the Underworld living, which is prohibited) to get his throne back, in exchange for his silence about the mishap. In the end, Hercules forces the people of Thessaly to make their own decisions, and hence Thessaly becomes a democracy. Hades meanwhile discovers Pain and Panic's mistake and teaches them a lesson. -

Disney's Hercules Season 1 Episode 13 Hercules and the Return of Typhon
I do not own Disney's Hercules. All ownership belongs to Disney and it's affiliates. Hercules is invited to join his father and mother for Titan Smashing Day, an event which commemorates Zeus' defeat of the Titan, Typhon (Regis Philbin). Echidna, who was Typhon's mate, seeks revenge, wreaking havoc on Athens, so to prove himself to his father, Hercules challenges her, but in doing so, inadvertently releases Typhon. He calls to Zeus for help, who begins to explain something, but is interrupted by the fight beginning. Evenly matched, a lightning bolt is thrown by Hera, who forces Echidna and Typhon to end the battle peaceably. Hera and Zeus explain that it was Hera who threw the bolt to buy time for Zeus to defeat Typhon, and father and son mutually agree that even a god isn't perfect. -

This appears to be the first Hercules cartoon, in which a young Herc (note different voice and hairstyle) is given the power ring by Zeus, and meets his silly blonde girlfriend Helena. High point of the episode for me was the appearance of the dragon, who, when he attacks Hercules, goes into this kind of Jackie Gleason 'And away we go' vaudeville step. Fairly hilarious. Metis the Goddess of wisdom was pregnant with Athene. Because Zeus felt that Athene would be so wise he felt it would be a threat to his power. He felt that Athena would be stronger than even his bolts. In order to prevent this from happening he tricked Metis and swallowed her whole. However, Metis was still able to conceive Athene and gods gave her birth through the way of his head. This is very important because it symbolically represents the birth of many great things in Greek thought and culture. Athena was a goddess of wisdom, war, and defender of heroes and justice. All the aspects combined create a unique and complex civilization.
There used to be a popular cartoon that would come on television that, Hercules. The cartoon was a series based off of the Disney movie which was the cartoon version of the Greek tale. In this cartoon Hercules had amazing adventures battling Gods and Creatures.
Unsurprisingly the Disney version changes the Greek story, so that Hercules main enemy is Hades (the god of the underworld). Although Disney did a horrible job of telling the story of Hercules, they were able to expose many people to Greek mythology.
I recognize Zeus from the cartoon, he was the most powerful God and he was the father of Hercules. In the cartoon Zeus is portrayed as a humble, loving, and kind father. Some of the other names I recognized were: Athene, Apollo, Artemis, Posedion, and Hera.
In order to rise to power Zeus had to first overthrow the ruler Cronos and the Titans. How he did this was with a clever strategy and with his might. What he did was gather a team of Gods to join his side. Then he made friends with the Cyclopes and other creatures. The combination of the Gods and boulders hurled from the powerful creatures was what led to Zeus becoming the ruler of the Gods. The war was ended with one last bolt that was driven by all of Zeus's fury and might.
The way Zeus came to power was similar to the way humans do things. There was a higher power in which no force at the time could stop. Zeus wanted to take them down and bring himself to the top. His method of doing so was gathering large forces because there is strength in numbers. It was simply a game of politics.

However, one god is upset about the new arrival: Hercules' evil uncle Hades who wants to take control of Mount Olympus and the world along with all of creation, and he sees that if Hercules chooses to fight when he is older, his plans will be ruined. Knowing that as a god, Hercules is immortal and invulnerable, Hades sends his two lackeys, Pain and Panic, to kidnap Hercules and turn him mortal by means of a magic potion, but the final drop falls wasted on the ground. Pain and Panic discover that because he did not drink the last drop he has retained his godly strength (although Hercules' strength appears to be exceptional even for a god as no other god is seen performing anything close to his feats of strength) and they are beaten back. Amphitryon and Alcmene adopt the child, considering his arrival a gift from the gods since they are themselves childless. Too late, Zeus and the other gods discover the kidnapping. Because Herc is now mortal, he cannot return to Mt. Olympus. Growing up, he has difficulty being accepted by others due to his strength and clumsiness; during one visit to a village, he inadvertently knocks down entire pillars, destroying the plaza and isolating him more than ever. Shortly after, he is told about his adoption. Wanting to know where he belongs, he seeks Zeus and discovers his true parentage. Determined to go to Olympus, he trains with Phil on how to become a hero. When Hercules has reached adulthood and has passed his training, he sets off with Philoctetes to become a hero in Thebes

Hercules - Disney Original Cartoon Series of Hercules Episodes 4, 5, 6
Hercules (his Roman name being used likely because it is easier to pronounce than his Greek name) is the protagonist of the film and the TV series who is based on the mythical character, although some aspects of his life differ greatly from the original legend. He was born on Mt. Olympus with all the powers of a god, and his parents were Zeus and Hera (the King and Queen of all the gods, thus making him a god prince), who has been re-imagined as a loving mother instead of a spiteful stepmother. However, one god is upset about the new arrival: Hercules' evil uncle Hades who wants to take control of Mount Olympus and the world along with all of creation, and he sees that if Hercules chooses to fight when he is older, his plans will be ruined. Knowing that as a god, Hercules is immortal and invulnerable, Hades sends his two lackeys, Pain and Panic, to kidnap Hercules and turn him mortal by means of a magic potion, but the final drop falls wasted on the ground. Pain and Panic discover that because he did not drink the last drop he has retained his godly strength (although Hercules' strength appears to be exceptional even for a god as no other god is seen performing anything close to his feats of strength) and they are beaten back. Amphitryon and Alcmene adopt the child, considering his arrival a gift from the gods since they are themselves childless. Too late, Zeus and the other gods discover the kidnapping. Because Herc is now mortal, he cannot return to Mt. Olympus. Growing up, he has difficulty being accepted by others due to his strength and clumsiness; during one visit to a village, he inadvertently knocks down entire pillars, destroying the plaza and isolating him more than ever. Shortly after, he is told about his adoption. Wanting to know where he belongs, he seeks Zeus and discovers his true parentage. Determined to go to Olympus, he trains with Phil on how to become a hero. When Hercules has reached adulthood and has passed his training, he sets off with Philoctetes to become a hero in Thebes
