The viola (
/viˈoʊlə/ or /vaɪˈoʊlə/) is a bowed string instrument. It is the middle voice of the violin family, between the violin and the cello.
The viola is similar in material and construction to the violin. A full-size viola's body is between 1 inch (25 mm) and 4 inches (100 mm) longer than the body of a full-size violin (i.e., between 15 and 18 inches (38 and 46 cm)), with an average length of 16 inches (41 cm). Small violas for children typically start at 12 inches (30 cm), which is equivalent to a half-size violin. For a child who needs a smaller size, a fractional-sized violin is often strung with the strings of a viola. Unlike the violin, the viola does not have a standard full size. The body of a viola would need to measure about 20 inches (51 cm) long to match the acoustics of a violin, making it impractical to play in the same manner as the violin. For centuries, viola makers have experimented with the size and shape of the viola, often adjusting the proportions or shape to make a lighter instrument with shorter string lengths, but which still has a large enough sound box to create an unmistakable 'viola sound'.

Viola Davis (born August 11, 1965) is an American actress.
Beginning her career on the stage, Davis won a Tony and a Drama Desk Award for her role in King Hedley II (2001). She won a second Drama Desk Award for Intimate Apparel (2004). She won a second Tony and a third Drama Desk Award for her role in Fences (2010).
Some of her notable films include Traffic (2000), Antwone Fisher (2002), Solaris (2002) and The Help (2011). Her eleven-minute-long performance in the film adaptation of John Patrick Shanley's Doubt (2008) earned several honors, including an Academy Award nomination. Her role in the film The Help has garnered two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a BAFTA Award nomination, another Academy Award nomination, and a Golden Globe nomination. In addition to her success, she was listed in Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World.
Davis was born on her grandmother's farm, at the former Singleton Plantation, in St. Matthews, South Carolina. She is the second youngest of six children. Her mother, Mary Alice, was a maid, factory worker, and homemaker, and her father, Dan Davis, was a horse trainer. Her family moved to Central Falls, Rhode Island a few months after she was born. Davis has described herself as having "lived in abject poverty and dysfunction" during her childhood.

Hey everybody! I'm finally back with a new cover! It's my second day back at home from university, and it's good to be back! :D
Sorry that it's been so long since I've last uploaded anything music-related. Hopefully this makes up for it ^^.
I saw "Frozen" about two weeks ago with my boyfriend, and I'm going to be super honest, before watching it, I was just like..."I don't want to watch this kid's movie.." But after seeing it, I seriously fell in love with the characters, especially Anna, Elsa, and Olaf ;w; I can't stop listening to the music in it, especially this song. (Elsa's "Let It Go" scene is probably my favorite scene of all time!) It's really sweet and the animation that goes along with it gave me goosebumps..GAH! It's a really meaningful song, too, but I won't spoil it.
Anyway, if you haven't seen this movie yet, I highly recommend it! Idina Menzel is fabulous, and the animation/storyline is top-notch! I cried ;w ; It's definitely one of my favorite films now~
Also, thank you, oysterlovers for the piano part :) You play beautifully!

Renato Andrade (Abaeté, 28 de agosto de 1932 — Abaeté, 30 de dezembro de 2005) foi um músico compositor e instrumentista brasileiro. É considerado um dos maiores mestres da Viola Caipira instrumental. Por influência familiar, Renato foi ainda jovem para Belo Horizonte para estudar violino. Na simplicidade de suas canções, que falam de uma maneira especial da vida do sertanejo, evidencia os sentimentos do povo do interior e remete o ouvinte ao contato com o campo, à natureza e ao mais puro sentimento.
O repertório escolhido é uma homenagem aos grandes nomes da música caipira ( Rolando Boldrim, Tião Carreiro, Dino Franco, Moacyr dos Santos, Lourival dos Santos, Tonico e Tinoco, Zica e Zeca, entre outros ) e seus trabalhos em variados ritmos como: cururu, cateretê, toada, rasqueado, gruarânia e o pagode de viola em composições conhecidas e outras pouco ouvidas.
O objetivo maior do Grupo Violado não é apenas relembrar e resgatar, mas também emocionar, conquistar, provocar e surpreender a platéia. Isso tudo registra um marco para os presentes, o que permite levar o "Espetáculo De Viola Caipira" a todo Brasil.

No final do show, Renato chama ao palco Marcus Biancardini e o proclama como seu sucessor.
Renato Andrade (Abaeté, 28 de agosto de 1932 — Abaeté, 30 de dezembro de 2005) foi um músico compositor e instrumentista brasileiro. É considerado um dos maiores mestres da Viola Caipira instrumental.
Por influência familiar, Renato foi ainda jovem para Belo Horizonte para estudar violino.
