A president is a leader of an organization, company, club, trade union, university, or country.
Etymologically, a president is one who presides, who sits in leadership (from Latin pre- "before" + sedere "to sit"; giving the term praeses). Originally, the term referred to the presiding officer of a ceremony or meeting (i.e., chairman), but today it most commonly refers to an official. Among other things, "President" today is a common title for the heads of state of most republics, whether popularly elected, chosen by the legislature or by a special electoral college.
Presidents in countries with a democratic or representative form of government are usually elected for a specified period of time and in some cases may be re-elected by the same process by which they are appointed, i.e. in many nations, periodic popular elections. The powers vested in such presidents vary considerably. Some presidencies, such as that of Ireland, are largely ceremonial, whereas other systems vest the President with substantive powers such as the appointment and dismissal of Prime Ministers or cabinets, the power to declare war, and powers of veto on legislation. In many nations the President is also the Commander-in-Chief of the nation's armed forces, though once again this can range from a ceremonial role to one with considerable authority.

Barack Hussein Obama II (
i/bəˈrɑːk huːˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə/; born August 4, 1961) is the 44th and current President of the United States. He is the first African American to hold the office. In January 2005, Obama was sworn in as a U.S. Senator in the state of Illinois. He would hold this office until November 2008, when he resigned following his victory in the 2008 presidential election.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review. He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney in Chicago and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. He served three terms representing the 13th District in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004.
Following an unsuccessful bid against the Democratic incumbent for a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2000, Obama ran for the United States Senate in 2004. Several events brought him to national attention during the campaign, including his victory in the March 2004 Illinois Democratic primary for the Senate election and his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He won election to the U.S. Senate in Illinois in November 2004. His presidential campaign began in February 2007, and after a close campaign in the 2008 Democratic Party presidential primaries against Hillary Rodham Clinton, he won his party's nomination. In the 2008 presidential election, he defeated Republican nominee John McCain, and was inaugurated as president on January 20, 2009. Nine months later, Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In April 2011, he announced that he would be running for re-election in 2012.

Donald John Trump, Sr. (born June 14, 1946) is an American business magnate, television personality and author. He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts. Trump's extravagant lifestyle, outspoken manner and role on the NBC reality show The Apprentice have made him a well-known celebrity who was No. 17 on the 2011 Forbes Celebrity 100 list. He is well-known as a real-estate developer who amassed vast hotel, casino, and other real-estate properties, in the New York City area and around the world.
Trump is the son of Fred Trump, a wealthy New York City real-estate developer. He worked for his father's firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son, while attending the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and in 1968 officially joined the company. He was given control of the company in 1971 and renamed it The Trump Organization.
In 2010, Trump expressed an interest in becoming a candidate for President of the United States in the 2012 election. In May 2011, he announced he would not be a candidate, but a few weeks later he said he had not completely ruled out the possibility. In December 2011, Trump was suggested as a possible Vice Presidential selection by Michele Bachmann. Bachmann has since suspended her presidential campaign.

Unfortunately, Arthur Sherlock Holmes is a quick-tempered, ranting, violent bungler, and his assistant, Dr. William Watson (grandson of Dr. John H. Watson) is one of the most moronic creatures ever to walk the earth, although he is invaluable because he has "bionic bits". Holmes has inherited a drug habit from his grandfather, one which his housekeeper, Mrs. Hudson, is less than discreet about, and the sleek Moriarty is also one step ahead of him, eventually murdering the police commisioner. Finally, Holmes decides to hold a party, inviting the world's most distinguished detectives, hoping to flush Moriarty out of hiding. However, it does not go as planned.

A day after making a historic arrival in Cuba, U.S. President Barack Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro expressed hope that reforms would finally arrive to the island, despite the persistent grievances on both sides.
In an extraordinary sign of the shifting attitudes, both leaders took questions from reporters following prepared statements, a rarity in a country where media remains under strict state control.
“We have decades of profound differences,” Obama said when asked by CNN’s Jim Acosta what his message on human rights was during his “frank conversation” on the issue with Castro. “I told President Castro that we are moving forward and not looking backwards.”
“We will continue to stand up for basic principles that we believe in,” Obama said. “America believes in democracy. We believe that freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, are not just American values but universal values.”
Obama was speaking following an hours-long meeting with Castro at the Palace of the Revolution in Old Havana. Castro, making a statement after the session, acknowledged the “profound differences” with the United States on human rights.
But he also underscored areas where he argued that the U.S. was failing.
“We find it inconceivable that a government does not defend and ensure the right to health care,” he said.
He also said that he opposed “political manipulation and double standards in the approach to human rights.”
Obama met with Castro on his first full day in Cuba as part of his efforts to elicit change on the island. But even as he works to open economic channels here, a longstanding trade embargo prevents a full restoration of ties.
“Much more could be done if the U.S. blockade could be lifted,” Castro said in a statement following his meeting with Obama at the Palace of the Revolution in Old Havana. “The most recent measures adopted by his administration are positive but insufficient.”
Castro also insisted upon the return of the Guantanamo Bay Naval Station to Cuba during his remarks, which were translated from Spanish.
Earlier, Obama and Castro shook hands before their sit-down, the third time the pair have met for bilateral talks since the resumption of diplomatic relations in 2014. It was unclear whether the leaders would later take questions from the press.
Obama started his morning laying a wreath by the Jose Marti memorial, a massive monument to the Cuban revolutionary leader where a Cuban military band played the “Star Spangled Banner,” another in a series of previously unthinkable moments that marks this week’s visit.
The sight of a sitting American president setting foot on the island was a novelty for most Cubans. The last U.S. leader to visit was Calvin Coolidge, who voyaged into Havana Harbor on a battleship in 1928.
In an elaborate welcome ceremony, Obama and Castro met with smiles and brief conversation before moving down long hallways lined with Cuban troops. Obama was overheard telling the Cuban leader he enjoyed his tour of Havana Sunday night along with his family.
He also told Castro he had a “great” dinner at a “paladar” — one of hundreds of privately run restaurants that only recently became permissible in the state-run economy. Those types of businesses, along with new investments from American firms, give U.S. officials hope that Cuba is on a path to open its economy after decades of isolation.
The meeting provides Obama and his aides another reality check on their mission to extract reforms from Castro. Until this point, there have been few signs that the government here is willing to work as quickly as the Obama administration hoped in opening the state-run economy and improving human rights.
“Change is going to happen here and I think that Raul Castro understands that,” Obama said in an interview with ABC News taped Sunday night.
“Our intention has been to get the ball rolling, knowing that change wasn’t going to happen overnight,” Obama said. “Although we still have significant differences around human rights and individual liberties inside of Cuba, we felt that coming now would maximize our ability to prompt more change.”
The vast differences between the Obama administration and the Castro regime were no less evident Sunday as Havana hurried to prepare for the U.S. president’s arrival. As Obama was en route, scores of anti-Castro dissidents from the group Ladies in White were arrested and detained after their weekly protest in Havana. CNN witnessed dozens of protesters being driven from the site in buses.
The group consists largely of women who have been arrested and imprisoned for speaking out against the government here.

We asked Shuly what she enjoys most about being an entrepreneur.
“I love ideas. I think everything starts with ideas. Being an entrepreneur allows me to pursue so many different kinds of ideas. Having the platform of my business gives me ideas to pursue certain things and go in different directions with my company, whether it’s new products, assisting a customer, or bringing something to the market that there’s a need for. All of those come from ideas from conversations with people or something I come across myself going “gee, why doesn’t that exist?”
Being an entrepreneur gives me a platform to exercise those. I like to collaborate, I’m naturally curious. So when I have an idea, I kind of take off running. Some people tell me I’m like an advertisement sometimes when I’m sharing things I get really excited.
When you find an idea that works and you talk to people about it and they start to get excited, and then you get the right people together, the things that it can turn into are extraordinary.
Being an entrepreneur allows me to create and to see my ideas come to fruition.”

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (Angenette Levy) - In 1997, Geoffrey Mearns was working as an Assistant U.S. Attorney.
He was asked whether he'd be interested in joining the government's prosecution team in the trial of Terry Nichols, an accomplice to Timothy McVeigh in the bombing of the Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City. Judge Merrick Garland was working at the Dept. of Justice at the time and overseeing the investigation. Garland interviewed Mearns for the job.
"I don't recall it being a tough interview. He asked good questions. Judge Garland impressed me immediately as a very bright and intelligent lawyer," said Geoffrey Mearns, president of Northern Kentucky University.
186 people died in the domestic terror attack. Mearns said Garland was well-aware that it was a high profile case and the world was watching.
"He understood the broader context in which we were operating. That we weren't simply trying to get a conviction. That we were trying to conduct ourselves as representatives of the United States in a way that would bring respect for the outcome. Not just acceptance but respect that the process was fair." Mearns said.
Mearns said that was one of many reasons he wasn't surprised when Garland's name was mentioned as a possible Supreme Court nominee.
"He has the interpersonal qualities of modesty and humanity that I think make him suited to have served so well as a federal judge," said Mearns.

Havana News Conference: Obama and Castro call for end of Cuba embargo. Obama in Cuba: President Meets with Raul Castro
Emerging from a historic meeting with his Cuban counterpart, President Obama said Monday that he remained concerned about the communist island's record on human rights but said the two countries had enough in common to negotiate a slow normalization of relations.
"When we share our deepest beliefs on an attitude of mutual respect, then we can both learn and make the lives of our people better," Obama said in a joint appearance with Cuban President Raul Castro.
He also said the United States respected Cuba's sovereignty. "The future of Cuba will be decided by Cubans and not by anyone else," he said.
Castro spoke before Obama, saying his country remained committed to normalizing relations but reiterated that it could only happen if Congress ends a decades-old economic blockade.
The blockade, Castro said, is "the most outstanding obstacle to our economic development."
In a not-so-subtle dig at critics of Cuba's harsh treatment of dissidents, Castro insisted that Cuba "defended human rights" and suggested that America should practice what it preached on universal access to health care, equal pay, education and other issues.
The two-hour meeting marked the culmination of Obama's first full day in Cuba, which began with a trip into the heart of the Communist island nation's seat of power: a visit to a local hero's memorial. Then he walked to the the Palace of the Revolution.
Seeking to press Cuba into speedier economic reforms and improved human rights, Obama is the first American president to visit since Calvin Coolidge nearly 90 years ago. His bilateral discussion with Castro was not their first meeting, but was the most meaningful by far.
Obama has made a priority of seeking more help for large and small businesses — including the hundreds of thousands of Cubans who have taken advantage of incremental economic opportunities and become entrepreneurs. Castro, brother of former president Fidel Castro, has insisted that Congress lift a decades-old economic embargo and pull the military out of Guantanamo Bay.
