The Leeds United Service Crew are a football hooligan firm linked to the English Football League team, Leeds United A.F.C.The Service Crew were formed in 1974 and named after the ordinary public service trains that the hooligans would travel on to away matches, rather than the, heavily policed, organised football special trains. The Service Crew have a reputation for being one of the most notorious hooligan firm in the history of English football.
In 1985 when football hooliganism was rife in England, the BBC Six O'Clock News had a special report in which they listed the worst football hooligan gangs creating mayhem across England and Leeds United were listed amongst the worst five clubs.
The club distances itself from any activities the Service Crew are involved in. During the height of the hooliganism, the Service Crew become one of the most notorious firms in European football,and in doing so nearly brought the club to its knees.
The first high profile incident that Leeds hooligans were involved in came on 28 May 1975 at the European Cup final against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France. When striker Peter Lorimer had a goal disallowed in a game which ended in a 2-0 defeat to the West German side, and having already seen their team have two penalty appeals rejected by French referee Michel Kitabdjian, scores of Leeds fans ripped seats from the stands and threw them onto the pitch. Some of them clashed with the French police as they invaded the pitch. As a result of this incident, Leeds were banned from European competitions for four years - although this was later reduced to two years on appeal. Due to their on-the-field decline, however, it would be another 17 years before they tasted European action again.
In the 1982–83 season, in the club's first game in the Second Division after relegation, some Leeds fans went on what was described in The Sun newspaper as "an orgy of drinking, looting and fighting" in Cleethorpes, where 600 Leeds fans had stayed the night before the match. In October, two Newcastle United players were hit by missiles at Elland Road and the FA ordered another inquiry.
By January 1987, the club's reputation for hooliganism was so bad that when they were drawn with non-league Telford United in an FA Cup third round tie, the Shropshire club refused to host the game at their Bucks Head ground; it was instead played some 30 miles away at the stadium of West Bromwich Albion.
On 5 May 1990, Leeds travelled to AFC Bournemouth on the South Coast for the final game of the 1989-90 Second Division season. Victory in the game would give them the Second Division title and promotion back to the top flight after eight years away. Leeds achieved this with a 1-0 win, but the success was marred by a string of vandalism on town centre pubs and shops as well as a series of battles between hooligans and police officers. 104 people were arrested and 12 police officers were injured.
Modern day crackdowns on football hooliganism and the heavy use of CCTV at grounds have, as with other firms, largely curtailed the activities of the Service Crew. While hooliganism continues at Leeds United, the nature of it has changed since the 1970s and 1980s. Improvements to security in Elland Road as with all grounds in England have led to confrontations more usually taking place away from stadiums.
On 28 April 2007, during the Championship game at Elland Road with Ipswich Town, about 200 home fans spilled onto the pitch and forced a 30-minute delay after a late Ipswich equaliser all but sealed Leeds' relegation to League One. Around 100 of them ran toward the South East stand where the away supporters were located. In January 2008 thirteen Leeds United fans were handed football banning orders totalling 45 years after they pleaded guilty to affray in connection with the pitch invasion.

After several days of heavy rain on already saturated ground, the River Aire (like many rivers in Northern England) broke its banks in several places in Leeds city centre (as well as elsewhere). This film was taken from a walk beginning at 15:40 next to Leeds Railway Station on Princes Square and ending just shortly after 18:20 on East Street (A61).
The film features views of the River Aire at full flow and in flood: at Leeds Station Southern Entrance; from Victoria Bridge; from behind Asda House; on Meadow Lane; on Water Lane; at Bridge End; from Leeds Bridge; from Riverside Court; from Centenary Bridge; at Brewery Place; along Dock Street; from behind Oracle; from Crown Point Bridge; along East Street; through Turlow Court; and most dramatically at the junction of East Street (A61) and Marsh Lane.
At 11:50 there is a barge which has become wedged under a balcony / walkway, lifting the balcony / walkway above it. This is just under Centenary Bridge, opposite Oracle Bar.

According to the Environment Agency, the River Aire went on to reach 2.93 metres at Crown Point at 23:30. It's typical height is between 0.53 and 1.35 metres.

After several days of heavy rain on already saturated ground, the River Aire (like many rivers in Northern England) broke its banks in several places in Leeds city centre (as well as elsewhere). This film was taken from a walk beginning at 15:40 next to Leeds Railway Station on Princes Square and ending just shortly after 18:20 on East Street (A61). The Leeds United Service Crew are a football hooligan firm linked to the English Football League team, Leeds United A.F.C.The Service Crew were formed in 1974 and named after the ordinary public service trains that the hooligans would travel on to away matches, rather than the, heavily policed, organised football special trains. The Service Crew have a reputation for being one of the most notorious hooligan firm in the history of English football.

The club distances itself from any activities the Service Crew are involved in. During the height of the hooliganism, the Service Crew become one of the most notorious firms in European football,and in doing so nearly brought the club to its knees.
The first high profile incident that Leeds hooligans were involved in came on 28 May 1975 at the European Cup final against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France. When striker Peter Lorimer had a goal disallowed in a game which ended in a 2-0 defeat to the West German side, and having already seen their team have two penalty appeals rejected by French referee Michel Kitabdjian, scores of Leeds fans ripped seats from the stands and threw them onto the pitch. Some of them clashed with the French police as they invaded the pitch. As a result of this incident, Leeds were banned from European competitions for four years - although this was later reduced to two years on appeal. Due to their on-the-field decline, however, it would be another 17 years before they tasted European action again.
In the 1982–83 season, in the club's first game in the Second Division after relegation, some Leeds fans went on what was described in The Sun newspaper as "an orgy of drinking, looting and fighting" in Cleethorpes, where 600 Leeds fans had stayed the night before the match. In October, two Newcastle United players were hit by missiles at Elland Road and the FA ordered another inquiry.
By January 1987, the club's reputation for hooliganism was so bad that when they were drawn with non-league Telford United in an FA Cup third round tie, the Shropshire club refused to host the game at their Bucks Head ground; it was instead played some 30 miles away at the stadium of West Bromwich Albion.
On 5 May 1990, Leeds travelled to AFC Bournemouth on the South Coast for the final game of the 1989-90 Second Division season. Victory in the game would give them the Second Division title and promotion back to the top flight after eight years away. Leeds achieved this with a 1-0 win, but the success was marred by a string of vandalism on town centre pubs and shops as well as a series of battles between hooligans and police officers. 104 people were arrested and 12 police officers were injured.
Modern day crackdowns on football hooliganism and the heavy use of CCTV at grounds have, as with other firms, largely curtailed the activities of the Service Crew. While hooliganism continues at Leeds United, the nature of it has changed since the 1970s and 1980s. Improvements to security in Elland Road as with all grounds in England have led to confrontations more usually taking place away from stadiums.
On 28 April 2007, during the Championship game at Elland Road with Ipswich Town, about 200 home fans spilled onto the pitch and forced a 30-minute delay after a late Ipswich equaliser all but sealed Leeds' relegation to League One. Around 100 of them ran toward the South East stand where the away supporters were located. In January 2008 thirteen Leeds United fans were handed football banning orders totalling 45 years after they pleaded guilty to affray in connection with the pitch invasion.

After several days of heavy rain on already saturated ground, the River Aire (like many rivers in Northern England) broke its banks in several places in Leeds city centre (as well as elsewhere). This film was taken from a walk beginning at 15:40 next to Leeds Railway Station on Princes Square and ending just shortly after 18:20 on East Street (A61).

At 11:50 there is a barge which has become wedged under a balcony / walkway, lifting the balcony / walkway above it. This is just under Centenary Bridge, opposite Oracle Bar.

According to the Environment Agency, the River Aire went on to reach 2.93 metres at Crown Point at 23:30. It's typical height is between 0.53 and 1.35 metres.

Secondly, my Mum and I went to Tropical World, which is kinda like a zoo but without the big animals! And it was really exciting as I hadn't been in over 10 years, so it was pretty nostalgic haha. Eng/Ger/Nat Hundreds of amateur astronomers have been getting an extra-special glimpse of what's been called "the comet of the century". They've been on special 'comet flights' run by a British travel agency to get a better view of the Hale-Bopp comet. The flights take them seven miles (11 kilometres) above ground, clear of the distorting effect of the earth's atmosphere. Right from the moment they picked up their boarding passes, it was clear this wouldn't be a normal flight. The check-in girl sported a futuristic space suit, while the passengers carried nothing more than binoculars. In the 13th century it came into the hands of King Edward I, for whom it became a favourite residence; in the 16th century, Henry VIII used it as a residence for his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. The castle today dates mostly from the 19th century and is built on islands in a lake formed by the River Len to the east of the village of Leeds. It has been open to the public since 1976
An aviary was added in 1980 and by 2011 it contained over 100 species, but it was decided to close it in October 2012 as it was felt the foundation could make better use of the £200,000 a year it cost to keep the aviary running.[12] The castle and its grounds are a major leisure destination with a maze, a grotto, a golf course and what may be the world's only museum of dog collars.
It is a Grade I listed building (first listed in 1952) and recognised as an internationally important structure. In 1998 Leeds Castle was one of 57 heritage sites in England to receive more than 200,000 visitors. According to figures released by the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions, nearly 560,000 people visited the castle in 2010.
In June and July 2015, visitor numbers fell by 30% due to Operation Stack being implemented on the M20, in which the attraction is just off Junction 8, this is a result of the ongoing migrant crisis in Calais.

Hey guys! Today's video is quite an exciting one, because firstly, I actually take the camera out properly and vlog haha! Secondly, my Mum and I went to Tropical World, which is kinda like a zoo but without the big animals!
And it was really exciting as I hadn't been in over 10 years, so it was pretty nostalgic haha. Most of it was like how I had remembered, but some of it had changed and they had a tonne more Meerkats there! They were so cute and adorable to watch, and they were just chilling in their groups.
We then went to Roundhay Fox (which is across the road) for some yummy pub grub! We got a Steak Burger with fries and beer battered onion rings (which I could actually eat right now, they were SO good!)

Everybody loves a music festival. Music Festivals and their headline acts are the dreams of my music festival fans. Most music festival fans will try the music festival camping and the music festival camping is a integral part of the music festival experience. I have been to a few music festivals such as Sonisphere Music Festival and Download Music Festival but I have always love the idea of one day going to Reading & Leeds Music Festival, Glastonbury Music Festival, Hyde Park Calling Festival, Isle Of Wight Festival, Bloodstock Music Festival and maybe Woodstock Festival, Burning Man Festival, Wacken Music Festival, or even Sweden Rocks Music Festival sometime in the future.
Music Festivals can be a great way to meet people and find new bands and normally have big music festival headliners with fantastic live sets such as Metallica, Rammstein, Avenged Sevenfold, Muse, Eminem, Chase and Status, Paramore, Guns and Roses, Foo Fighters, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, Linkin Park, and many other live music festival headliners and live festival sets that draw thousands in to enjoy their favourite music festival.

Hundreds of amateur astronomers have been getting an extra-special glimpse of what's been called "the comet of the century".
They've been on special 'comet flights' run by a British travel agency to get a better view of the Hale-Bopp comet.
The flights take them seven miles (11 kilometres) above ground, clear of the distorting effect of the earth's atmosphere.
Right from the moment they picked up their boarding passes, it was clear this wouldn't be a normal flight.
The check-in girl sported a futuristic space suit, while the passengers carried nothing more than binoculars.
They paid 89-pounds (140 U-S dollars) for a unique opportunity to view the comet from seven miles (11 kilometres) up, far above the clouds, haze and light pollution that plague comet-gazers on the ground.
And as the passengers unpacked their binoculars at the start of the 90-minute flight, the lights were dimmed, as the celestial show of the century was unveiled:
UPSOUND (cabin attendant):
"Ladies and gentlemen. We are now at 35,000 feet. We will shortly be dimming the cabin lights so you can have a better view of the comet on your left hand side, and of Mars on the right hand side of the cabin."
And this was the sight they'd paid to see - a clear shot of the comet with the naked eye - and an astonishing clear view with binoculars on zoom.
One amateur astronomer flew all the way from Switzerland for the flight.
He took his wife along as well, celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary.

"In order to celebrate this, we came all the way from Switzerland, to celebrate it up in the sky.

A: It's fantastic. It's great."

And then it was over.
The captain, who constantly banked the aircraft upwards during the flight to provide passengers with the best possible view, brought the plane back to earth.
The travel agent who came up with the idea - Peter Truman of Saltaire Travel - wasn't sure originally whether there'd be any demand.
Now he's had to lay on extra flights:

"Well, it started as an experiment really. We thought we'd have a bash at putting one flight on from Leeds-Bradford (airport) to see the spectacular comet of the century, the Hale-Bopp. And that really took off, and we've ended up putting a couple of flights on from Leeds, flights from Glasgow, Birmingham and (London) Heathrow as well. So it's been tremendously successful."
