Evans may refer to:
Stephen or Steven /ˈstiːvən/ is a masculine first name, derived from the Greek name Στέφανος (Stéfanos), in turn from the Greek word "στέφανος", meaning "wreath, crown, honour, reward", literally "that which surrounds or encompasses". In ancient Greece, a wreath was given to the winner of a contest (from which the crown, symbol of rulers derived). The use of the noun was first recorded in Homer's Iliad. The name is significant to Christians: according to the Book of Acts in the New Testament, Saint Stephen was a deacon who was stoned to death and is regarded as the first Christian martyr. The name has many variants, which include Stephan, Stevan, Stefan and Stevon.
In Middle English, the name Stephen or Stephan was pronounced as a bi-syllabic word — Step-hen or Step-han — much like a Scandinavian surname. Steve was pronounced as it is in Modern English. This etymological usage began a decline in the mid-19th century.
Steve is the common short form, while various diminutives such as Stevie and Ste are also used. Many family names are derived from Stephen: the most common are Stephens/Stevens and Stephenson/Stevenson (others include Stephen, Stephan, Staphan, Stefan, Stevin and Stever).

This is a PERFORMANCE ONLY recording of Steve's last ever stage appearance. It took place at the Headquarters of the Magic Circle in Stevenson Way London. The performance is wholly dedicated to Steve's closest friend and ever present magical companion Dave Taylor without whom many of the Lectures simply wouldn't have taken place. Special thanks to Gordon Drayson for recording the event and editing the video at a very busy time of year and to the President and Council of the Magic Circle for giving their kind permission to publish this performance only recording of the event.
C. Stephen Evans (Baylor University) gives an overview of Kierkegaard's understanding of spirituality. Kierkegaard clearly thinks that humans are created as "spirits" and thus that authentic human existence is a spiritual mode of existence. But what does that mean? Surprisingly, given Kierkegaard's reputation as an "individualist," human spiritual existence turns out to be entirely a function of the relationships that define the self. A generic form of human spirituality is possible for humans by virtue of God's relation to all humans through conscience. However, Christian spirituality is made possible when we relate to God through Christ, a relation made possible by the Spirit of God. Spirituality turns out to be not a static quality but a normative ideal, and the last section of the pape...

This is a talk given to Oncology professionals at New Cross NHS Hospital Wolverhampton (in the UK) in December 2012 by Steve Evans. This is the first time Steve had given such a talk having been asked to do so after delivering a Keynote speach at the Greater Midlands Cancer Research Network's AGM in November 2012. It is aimed at people who work in the world of Cancer treatment and is intended to help them better understand the patient's perspective. It focuses on his own experiences, living with terminal Cancer from first symptoms in the summer of 2011 up to the day of his talk. All cancer journeys are unique; this is Steve's.
Thank you to Bob Hamilton of the Magic Video Company and the British Ring of the IBM for giving their kind permission for this video to be posted on line. This event was a year in the planning. Steve Evans has a terminal condition but his long term goal was to stay fit enough to be able to Compere the stage Competition at the International Brotherhood of Magicians annual convention held in Buxton Derbyshire. He achieved that goal (although not without a lot of help and support) and this is the video of Steve's Comparing of the event. He enjoyed every minute of it as you can see from the Video. A Producer from BBC Radio 5 Live was with Steve to record the event and this formed a peace that preceded Richard Bacon's interview with Steve (Live on air) the following Monday.
