Kill Bill is an American two-part martial arts film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It was originally scheduled for a single theatrical release, but with a running time of over four hours, it was separated into two films: Kill Bill: Volume 1, released in late 2003, and Kill Bill: Volume 2, released in early 2004. The original four-hour cut, retitled Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, was screened at select cinemas in 2011. Tarantino has discussed the possibility of a third Kill Bill film.
Kill Bill: Volume 1 was released in theaters on October 10, 2003. In the United States and Canada, Volume 1 was released in 3,102 theaters and grossed $22 million on its opening weekend.Volume 1 was the widest theatrical release of Tarantino's career to date, and it was also his highest-grossing opening weekend to date. Outside the United States and Canada, Kill Bill: Volume 1 was released in 20 territories. By November 2, 2003, it had made $31 million in the 20 territories.Kill Bill: Volume 1 grossed a total of $70 million in the United States and Canada and $110.9 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $180.9 million.
Beatrix Kiddo (primarily known as The Bride), codename Black Mamba, is a fictional character and the protagonist of the two-part movie Kill Bill directed by Quentin Tarantino. She is portrayed by Uma Thurman and was selected by Empire Magazine as one of The 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time.Entertainment Weekly also named her as one of the 100 Greatest Characters of the Last 20 Years.
According to Uma Thurman, the character was created collaboratively during the filming of Pulp Fiction, with Thurman providing the character's first name and Tarantino her last name. After the release of Kill Bill: Volume 2, Tarantino commented that he “love[s] the Bride” and that he “killed [him]self to put her in a good place” at the end of the two-part film.
Tarantino has said he saved most of The Bride's nuanced character development for the second half: “As far as the first half is concerned, I didn't want to make her sympathetic. I wanted to make her scary.” Thurman cited Clint Eastwood's performance in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly as a central inspiration for her performance because, in her words, Eastwood "says almost nothing but somehow manages to portray a whole character.”

Four years later, the Bride has already assassinated Deadly Vipers Vernita Green and O-Ren Ishii. She goes to the trailer of Bill's brother and Deadly Viper Budd, planning to ambush him. Budd has been warned by Bill of her approach; he shoots her in the chest with a shotgun blast of rock salt, then sedates her. Plot: There were five on her list. Now it's three. O-Ren Ishii and Vernita Green were the first to fall, now The Bride is out to finish the job by killing Elle Driver, Budd, and last of all, Bill. If the final three aren't afraid now, they better start, because she's coming for them. However, something has thrown off her plans a bit. Her daughter (whom she was pregnant with as she was getting married) is still alive. What affect this will have on her quest for vengeance is unclear, but the question is, will The Bride have actually succeeded in completing her ultimate goal, to kill Bill?

KILLING IN ALL ITS GORY GLORY This is taken from the Japanese Unrated Limited Edition DVD of Kill Bill. It contains extra scenes that were cut from the original and is completely in color. Reasons why the movie theater and regular dvd versions were in black and white: + Tarantino was forced to censor the scene in some way to limit the visual of obscene gore. The MPAA did not specify how to do this so he decided to cut a few scenes and change it to black and white (Black & White was also intended for artistic purposes and to fit the flow of the movie (such as the beginning) that happened to fit well with censorship.) + He also chose black and white as an underlying obscure/random reference to the 70s and 80s.
