22-28 Feb: International week of action against the eviction of the autonomous social center La Solidaria in Montevideo (Uruguay)

La Solidaria is an autonomous social center that opened it’s doors in 2012. The building was occupied in order to serve as a tool to help practice our own autonomy and the development of the social struggle. Near the end of October last year we received a letter of eviction urging us to abandon the building. Just as it had happened in 2013 it’ll be difficult for them to beat us.
We have defended and we shall defend this place, not just as a physical building, but as headquarters to codes and principles opossed to the relationships set by the State and Capital. It’s used to power another type of relationships based on solidarity, self-management, horizontality and direct action. We consider ourselves to be part of the social conflict, part of a bigger project to transform our current reality. To end this world run by money and create one based on freedom and solidarity.
The press is already running errands to the State and the speculators who bought the house, they’re preparing the terrain for the eviction. We find the project in crucial moments, throughout the last week of February the final decisions will be made about the eviction. It is for this reason that we call for a week of actions in cooperation with this space, a week of solidarity against the eviction of La Solidaria.
Every hit reaffirms our way and make us stronger! To the threats of eviction: More resistance! More action! Solidarity knows no boundaries. Keep their hands out of our social centers!

Mi detención se da en el contexto represivo de la manifestación del 14 de agosto en conmemoración del estudiante Liber Arce asesinado hace 45 años por las balas policiales financiadas en esta ocasión por el estado uruguayo.
Debido al creciente descontento social es que en los últimos meses por esta región se han producido incidentes y enfrentamientos en las variadas manifestaciones, lanzando pedradas, bombas de estruendo y molotovs, a la
policía y a los íconos del capitalismo, por eso necesitaban atrapar y mostrar públicamente algún responsable de estos desmanes, para ejemplificar el castigo en contra de los que no se mantengan obedientes. (more…)

On the morning of Wednesday, May 8, two comrades were arrested, one in their workplace and the other at home. They were taken to the Special Operations Department and on the morning of Thursday 9 to Court, they declared. What is an empty place but an opportunity?
A place recently abandoned by an Non-Governmental Organisation, where before children were enclosed, children living there without a patio or necessary health, was taken for us to give life, but not just any life. What we call living is far from the ideals that politicians spread, it is far from the ideals of capitalist life that benefits the rich and all that their supporters are bent to maintain. (more…)

Si doña, esto es una guerra…
Una guerra contra los dominados imponiendo un sistema en el que todos están incluidos, bajo un mismo orden que da papeles diferentes a diferentes personas diciendo (e imponiendo a la vez) la idea malévola de que siempre será así. Que nada sucede ni aún cuando miles de cosas sucedan.
La mejor arma de los sostenedores de la dominación es la imposición de un sistema que genera el consenso, el falso diálogo que intenta disfrazar un mundo de posibilidades infinitas que el capital y sus gobernantes deciden que no debe aparecer. El reforzamiento de los ideales nacionales de parte de la izquierda, por ejemplo, tiene el objetivo claro de domesticar (aún más) a la población creando la idea de que esto debe permanecer así como está, que éste es el mejor, el único escenario posible y que será así por siempre. Por eso tanta banderita, tanta unión entre empresarios, políticos y sindicalistas, tanta mierda organizada. Por eso Pachano, Tinelli, el peluquín de Tabaré y los calladitos de derecha esperando su nueva oportunidad. (more…)
