This may be one of the most extraordinary cars we’ve ever owned. Hand-built and hand-formed, this one-piece aluminum body was created in a Polish TIG factory where metallurgy is their practiced trade. Nearly every piece of aluminum, stainless steel and hardware was made by hand and built to fit this Cobra perfectly, even the control arms and booster housing is handcrafted! This is Kirkham #491 and was built in 2007; at the time, it was one of only seven Kirkham's built with every available option. The Kirkham is powered by a Keith Kraft built, polished, all-aluminum 482ci with a Pink aluminum block. This car was dyno’d at 605hp, so no worries about making it to the car show on time! The cherry on top? It’s only logged approximately 1300 miles!

This stunningly beautiful Kirkham 427 S/C Cobra adorned with its polished aluminum body with brushed dual stripes is a piece of rolling sculpture. Kirkham #0362 was built by master builder Stewart Hall from Hall Fabrications in Benicia CA. Stewart specializes in restoring and maintaining the original Shelby Cobras as well as other fine exotics on race cars.
The Aluminum Shelby 427 has been stroked to 482 Cu in and was built by Tony Oddo. The carburetor is a Cathedral Bowl as the original. The exhaust headers and side-mounted exhaust are built to original specifications. TKO 5-speed transmission. The suspension is fully independent unequal length A-arms and adjustable coils-over shocks. The wheels are Aluminum six spoke, pin drive Halibrand style as original.

Replica 1965 Shelby Cobra owned by Len B, produced by Kirkham Motor Sports. The car only weighs 2100 pound due to its aluminum body which is made in Poland at a former MIG aircraft factory. The cars weight is also low due to aluminum suspension and motor. The motor is a Shelby aluminum block 427fe which produces 700 horse power (i.e., FAST) !!! That is the same power to weight ratio as a bullet bike.
To the dismay of several bullet bike riders; Len likes to show them who is "the boss" in a race from time to time.

Stainless steel
In metallurgy, stainless steel, also known as inox steel or inox from French "inoxydable", is a steel alloy with a minimum of 10.5%chromium content by mass.
Stainless steel does not readily corrode, rust or stain with water as ordinary steel does. However, it is not fully stain-proof in low-oxygen, high-salinity, or poor air-circulation environments. There are different grades and surface finishes of stainless steel to suit the environment the alloy must endure. Stainless steel is used where both the properties of steel and corrosion resistance are required.
Stainless steel differs from carbon steel by the amount of chromium present. Unprotected carbon steel rusts readily when exposed to air and moisture. This iron oxide film (the rust) is active and accelerates corrosion by forming more iron oxide; and, because of the greater volume of the iron oxide, this tends to flake and fall away. Stainless steels contain sufficient chromium to form a passive film of chromium oxide, which prevents further surface corrosion by blocking oxygen diffusion to the steel surface and blocks corrosion from spreading into the metal's internal structure. Passivation occurs only if the proportion of chromium is high enough and oxygen is present.

HM Prison Kirkham
HM Prison Kirkham is a Category D men's prison, located southwest of Kirkham in Lancashire, England. The prison is operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service.
History
RAF Kirkham
The prison's location was originally the site of RAF Kirkham, which was built by George Wimpey on 220 acres (89 ha) of land bordering the A583 road from Blackpool to Preston. Work commenced in 1939 and the camp opened in 1940 as a training camp for RAF tradesmen. Up to 1945 it trained 72,000 British and allied service men and women. In November 1941 Kirkham became the main armament training centre for the RAF, with 21 different trades and 86 different courses on equipment and weapons. Pupils came not only from the Commonwealth of Nations, but the United States, the Netherlands, Poland, France, Norway, Czechoslovakia and Belgium. Kirkham had 10 hangars as well as its own cinema and hospital. From May to December 1945 Kirkham became a demob centre. After the war it trained RAF boy entrants until December 1957 when it closed.

Replica 1965 Shelby Cobra owned by Len B, produced by Kirkham Motor Sports. The car only weighs 2100 pound due to its aluminum body which is made in Poland at a former MIG aircraft factory. The cars weight is also low due to aluminum suspension and motor. The motor is a Shelby aluminum block 427fe which produces 700 horse power (i.e., FAST) !!! That is the same power to weight ratio as a bullet bike. To the dismay of several bullet bike riders; Len likes to show them who is "the boss" in a race from time to time.

This may be one of the most extraordinary cars we’ve ever owned. Hand-built and hand-formed, this one-piece aluminum body was created in a Polish TIG factory where metallurgy is their practiced trade. Nearly every piece of aluminum, stainless steel and hardware was made by hand and built to fit this Cobra perfectly, even the control arms and booster housing is handcrafted! This is Kirkham #491 and was built in 2007; at the time, it was one of only seven Kirkham's built with every available option. The Kirkham is powered by a Keith Kraft built, polished, all-aluminum 482ci with a Pink aluminum block. This car was dyno’d at 605hp, so no worries about making it to the car show on time! The cherry on top? It’s only logged approximately 1300 miles!
