Herod is a name used of several kings belonging to the Herodian Dynasty of the Roman province of Judaea:
Herod (Hebrew: הוֹרְדוֹס, Hordos, Greek: Ἡρῴδης, Hērōdēs), also known as Herod the Great (born 73 or 74 BCE, died 4 BCE in Jericho), was a Roman client king of Judea. His epithet of "the Great" is widely disputed as he is described as "a madman who murdered his own family and a great many rabbis." He is also known for his colossal building projects in Jerusalem and elsewhere, including his expansion of the Second Temple in Jerusalem (sometimes referred to as Herod's Temple) and the construction of the port at Caesarea Maritima. Important details of his biography are gleaned from the works of the 1st century CE Roman-Jewish historian Josephus Flavius.
The Romans made Herod's son Herod Archelaus ethnarch of Judea, Samaria, and Idumea (biblical Edom) from 4 BCE to 6 CE, referred to as the tetrarchy of Judea. Archelaus was judged incompetent by the Roman emperor Augustus who then combined Samaria, Judea proper and Idumea into Iudaea province under rule of a prefect until 41. Herod's other son Herod Antipas was tetrarch of Galilee from 4 BCE – 39 CE.

Plot: It is a time when Rome rules the world with the power of life and death in their hands. The province of Roman Palestine is a bubbling cauldron of rebellion and control. And on this greater canvas Luke, narrates a story of wonder, amazement and impact... The world is anticipating this moment in history but no one can imagine God touching His creation in the form of a little baby named Jesus. Much is recorded in the Gospels about Jesus' miraculous birth, to a young virgin named Mary, in Bethlehem, but little is known about his quiet growing up in Nazareth. Joseph, his adopted father, seems to have died well before Jesus turns 30 and begins his ministry.

Plot: John Hunter takes a job as a hit man for a Mob syndicate, but his attacks of conscience, his odd dialogue about doing this for his family (he lives alone), and his continuous returning to a woman from his past suggest that there's more to him than meets the eye. Herod, the hard-nosed boss of the killing team, alternately fascinates and repels John. One night, Herod asks him to accompany Gillian, Herod's younger sister, for an evening out. The next day, John gets the word to kill her. When he refuses and instead tries to run with her and a considerable amount of Herod's assets, the stage is set for a showdown and the revelation of who's who.

Plot: The story of the life of Jesus Christ from his birth in Bethlehem to his crucifixion and subsequent resurrection. Filmed on a relatively grand scale, the film includes all of the major events referred to in the New Testament; his baptism by John the Baptist; the miracles - cripples walking, blind men seeing; the fishes and the loaves; and so on. The film actually begins with the Roman invasion by Pompey in 65 B.C., the appointment of King Herod the Great by the Romans and finally the crowning of Herod Antipas after he murders his father. The revolt led by Barrabas is also included and John the Baptist's beheading as Salome's price for dancing for Herod.

Genres: Drama, Romance,And it will last forever
These days seem to be getting shorter
And people are changing like the seasons
They've all run away for the better life
And forgotten our names
There must be bluer skies
On the other side of the fence
Or maybe my eyes are just closed
Then again maybe you've sewn them shut
If you leave this town
Don't bother saying goodbye
It's hard to wish farewell
When you're already facing the other way
We'll still be here
This is what we live for
