Ringo Starr
Richard Starkey,MBE (born 7 July 1940), known professionally as Ringo Starr, is an English musician, singer, songwriter and actor who gained worldwide fame as the drummer for the Beatles. He occasionally sang lead vocals, usually for one song on an album, including "With a Little Help from My Friends", "Yellow Submarine" and their cover of "Act Naturally". He also wrote the Beatles' songs "Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden", and is credited as a co-writer of others, including "What Goes On" and "Flying".
Starr was twice afflicted by life-threatening illnesses during childhood, and as a result of prolonged hospitalisations fell behind in school. In 1955, he entered the workforce and briefly held a position with British Rail before securing an apprenticeship at a Liverpool equipment manufacturer. Soon afterwards, he became interested in the UK skiffle craze, developing a fervent admiration for the genre. In 1957, he cofounded his first band, the Eddie Clayton Skiffle Group, which earned several prestigious local bookings before the fad succumbed to American rock and roll by early 1958.

Love Is All
Love Is All is a Swedish five-piece indie pop band from Gothenburg, Sweden. It releases songs in English. Paste Magazine has stated that it makes "infectiously lo-fi punk rock laced with saxophone and melodic vocals".
Biography
Swedish band Love Is All are composed of Josephine Olausson (vocals, keyboard), Johan Lindwall (bass), Markus Görsch (drums), James Ausfahrt (saxophone), and Nicholaus Sparding (guitar/vocals). Olausson, Sparding, and Görsch had previously been members of Girlfrendo. The trio promptly regrouped after that band's demise and added Lindwall, who had recorded in a side project with Olausson and Sparding called Cat Skills. They finally added the missing piece with saxophone player Fredrik Eriksson. While earning many rave reviews from the blogging community for their blend of art punk and indie rock, the band released several singles, one of which made single of the week in NME. The singles were collected on the debut LP Nine Times That Same Song, released by New York-based What's Your Rupture? in late 2005. After much touring through 2006 and 2007, Eriksson left the band and Love Is All continued on as a quartet. A Hundred Things Keep Me Up at Night and the remix album Love Is All Mixed Up arrived in 2008, along with Eriksson's replacement Åke Strömer (saxophone, keyboards). They are currently signed to Polyvinyl Record Co..

What a great song. The lyrics. The music. The emotion. It's a perfect soul storm. Richard Lewis Spencer (songwriter) is an American Grammy Award-winning songwriter. He played tenor saxophone in Otis Redding's band, behind Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions and was a member of The Winstons. He won a Grammy for writing "Color Him Father" in 1969. Spencer retired from the music business in 1970, and he currently works as a teacher in Montgomery County, Maryland. The flip side of this record contains a drum solo known as the "Amen Break." It is strongly believed to be the most sampled record in history because of said solo.

A singer, bandleader, radio and television performer, songwriter and standard-setting yodeler, he starred in at least two films in the late 1940s, and had hit records as late as 1968 with "The Jimmie Rodgers Blues".
He died on June 22, 1972, five days before his 59th birthday, due to a heart attack.

Elton Britt was born James Elton Baker, in Marshall, Arkansas, a small town in Searcy County, United States. He recorded over 600 sides and 60 albums for RCA and other labels in more than a 30-year span, and is best known for such hit songs (several of which he wrote or co-wrote) as "Someday (You'll Want Me to Want You)," "Detour," "Chime Bells," "Maybe I'll Cry Over You," "Pinto Pal," and the million-selling wartime hit "There's a Star-Spangled Banner Waving Somewhere".The recording had sold a million discs by 1944 and it was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA.[2]
A singer, bandleader, radio and television performer, songwriter and standard-setting yodeler, he starred in at least two films in the late 1940s, and had hit records as late as 1968 with "The Jimmie Rodgers Blues".
He died on June 22, 1972, five days before his 59th birthday, due to a heart attack.
He had at least four children, at least three boys and one daughter. His father was James Baker, and he had two sisters, Gretta Sanders and Druse Baker, and several brothers

Police: Olympic swimmers fabricated robbery claim

Brazilian police say four American Olympic swimmers — including one from the University of Georgia — fabricated their story of being robbed at gunpoint, according to news reports. The source said video footage showed at least one of the Olympic swimmers breaking down the door of a restroom and fighting with a security guard on the night of the alleged incident ...
