Music video

A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.

Flaming Pie

Flaming Pie is the tenth solo studio album by Paul McCartney, first released in 1997. His first studio album in over four years, it was mostly recorded following McCartney's involvement in the highly successful Beatles Anthology project. The album was recorded in several locations over two years, 1995 and 1997, featuring two songs dating from 1992. The album featured several of McCartney's family members and friends, most notably McCartney's son, James McCartney. In Flaming Pie's liner notes, McCartney said: "[The Beatles Anthology] reminded me of The Beatles' standards and the standards that we reached with the songs. So in a way it was a refresher course that set the framework for this album."

Flaming Pie peaked at number two in both the UK and US and was certified gold. The album, which was well received by critics, also reached the top 20 in many other countries. From its release up to mid-2007, the album sold over 1.5 million copies.

Background

"Calico Skies", which Paul McCartney had written when Hurricane Bob had hit while McCartney was staying on Long Island in 1991, and "Great Day", which features backing vocal from his wife Linda McCartney, hailed from a 1992 session, recorded even before Off the Ground had come out. Starting from the mid-1990s for four years, McCartney was involved in The Beatles Anthology, a documentary on the history of the Beatles. The documentary was originally titled The Long and Winding Road, named after McCartney's song of the same name. During 1995, as the Anthology albums were starting to be released over a two-year period, EMI did not want McCartney to release a solo album in the meantime. McCartney said that he "was almost insulted at first" before then realising that "it would be silly to go out against yourself in the form of the Beatles. So I fell in with the idea and thought, 'Great, I don't even have to think about an album.'" McCartney was occupied with working on Standing Stone in the interim.

Heaven Music

Heaven Music is an independent record label in Athens, Greece, founded in 2001 by ANT1 Group. It is known for signing new and young artists.

Overview

During its first five years of operation under the control of George Levendis, Heaven Music was credited with certifications of a four-time platinum album, three double platinum albums, five platinum albums and twenty-four gold albums, as well as one double platinum, one platinum and eight golden CD-singles.

Heaven had an exclusive contract with the songwriter Phoebus since the company's founding until he left in late 2009. He is well known in Greece and Cyprus for his work with many popular singers and having produced several multi-platinum albums.

Heaven has shown a pattern of interest in new and young singers. It cooperated with parent company's talent show Fame Story, the Greek version of the Star Academy franchise, and signed several of its contestants.

Heaven has worked to promote its artists outside of Greece. In 2002, Heaven began a collaboration with the Ministry of Sound, a leading dance label in Europe, exposing Despina Vandi's album Gia, which was already certified multi-platinum in Greece, across Europe and North America.

Le Chat

Le Chat (French for "the cat") was a Belgian daily comic strip, published in the newspaper Le Soir' from March 22, 1983 until March 23, 2013.

During its run it quickly became one of the bestselling Franco-Belgian comics series and the mascot of Le Soir. While virtually an icon in Wallonia he's far less well known in Flanders.

Concept

Le Chat is an adult, human-sized obese, anthropomorphic cat who typically wears a suit. He always has the same physical expression. He often comes up with elaborate reasonings which lead to hilariously absurd conclusions e.g. by taking metaphors literally or by adding increasingly unlikely what-ifs to ordinary situations.

One page in length, it appeared weekly in the "Victor" supplement of Belgian newspaper Le Soir. For Le Chat's 20th anniversary in 2003, Le Soir allowed Geluck to illustrate that day's entire newspaper. An exhibition of Le Chat's history (and that of his creator), "Le Chat s'expose", was first held at the Autoworld Motor Museum in Brussels in Spring 2004, and has since toured Europe. In March–October 2006 it even appeared at Les Champs Libres in Rennes.

Plot: An artifact known as the "King's Seal" is stolen during transport from the Soul Society by an unidentified Soul Reaper and two Arrancar resembling girls who control fire and lightning. In the middle of battle, Hitsugaya abandons his post to pursue him and leaves his squad behind to fend for themselves. After the battle, The Soul Society suspects Hitsuguya of treason and orders his immediate capture. The whole 10th Squad is then put on house arrest at which time they can surmise whether or not the division should be abolished. With the whole of Soul Society looking for Hitsugaya, Ichigo as a soul reaper on patrol accidentally stumbles upon Squad 2 Captain Soifon while she is conducting an investigation of the transport site. Soifon informs him of the events happening in the Soul Society and dispels the kido surrounding them. As Soifon disappears with her crew, Toshiro makes his presence known and passes out in front of Ichigo and Uryu. Awakening in the Kurosaki residence, Toshiro refuses to explain what's happening. In the midst of their discussion, Ichigo is attacked by the two arrancar before he can force the issue more. Toshiro escapes, continues to avoid capture. However, things only get worse when the Soul Reaper thief, identified as Former Soul Reaper Sojiro Kusaka also uses Hyorinmaru, a sword identical to Hitsugaya's, to injure Shunsui Kyoraku. Toshiro's capture is then made top priority and his execution is approved.
