Fatih is a municipality (belediye) and district in Istanbul, Turkey that encompasses most of the peninsula coinciding with historic Constantinople. In 2009, the district of Eminönü, formerly a separate municipality located at the tip of the peninsula, was merged into Fatih. Fatih borders the Golden Horn to the north and the Sea of Marmara to the south, while the Western border is demarked by the Theodosian wall. The mayor is Mustafa Demir (AKP).
Historic Byzantine districts encompassed by present-day Fatih include: Exokiónion, Aurelianae, Xerólophos, ta Eleuthérou, Helenianae, ta Dalmatoú, Sígma, Psamátheia, ta Katakalón, Paradeísion, ta Olympíou, ta Kýrou, Peghé, Rhéghion, ta Elebíchou, Leomákellon, ta Dexiokrátous, Petríon or Pétra, Phanàrion, Exi Mármara (Altimermer), Philopátion, Deúteron and Vlachernaí.
The name "Fatih" comes from the Ottoman emperor Fatih Sultan Mehmed (Mehmed the Conqueror), and means "Conqueror" in Turkish, originally from Arabic. The Fatih Mosque built by Mehmed II is in this district, while his resting place is next to the mosque and is much visited. It was on the ruins of the Church of the Holy Apostles, destroyed by earthquakes and years of war, that the Fatih Mosque was built, and around the mosque a large prayer school.

Bacaan Al Quran oleh: Fatih Seferagic - Surah Al Fatihah & Surah Ar Rahman pada 2 Julai 2013 di Masjid Al Falah, USJ 9, Subang Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia. Siapa yang tidak terkesan dengan remaja sholeh nan tampan ini. Masih muda, 17 tahun, hafal Qur'an lagi. Suara Fatih ini merdunya hampir sama dengan Mishari Rasheed, mendengarkan alunan tilawah Fatih, membuat kita bergetar dan semakin merasakan bahwa begitu indahnya Firman Allah. Generasi muda Indonesia (sebagian) yang sekarang terkenal dengan remaja hura-hura, Perokok, pergaulan bebas, pecandu narkoba dan sejenisnya. Ini akibat mengidolakan sosok figur yang kebanyakan melakukan hal-hal yang tidak baik, sehingga tidak sedikit dari mereka yang akhirnya ikut mencontohnya. Fatih Seferagic bisa menjadi satu figur alternatif remaja yang layak dicontoh oleh generasi muda indonesia. Untuk itu, mungkin diperlukan lagi berita tentang dia dan terus dibagikan ke remaja seluruh dunia terutama Indonesia. Syukur-syukur kalau bisa menghadirkan sosoknya ke sini. Pemuda Hafiz Qur'an, bersuara indah dan tampan pula itu tinggal dan menetap di Amerika Serikat. Di negara sekuler dan bebas seperti Amerika yang dipenuhi kehidupan hedonitas ini bukan menjadi alasan baginya untuk tidak menghafal AL-Qur'an. Remaja berkebangsaan Bosnia yang lahir di Stuttgart, Jerman dan sekarang tinggal di Texas AS ini, tinggal di Arizona selama 3-4 tahun sebelum menetap di Baltimore, Maryland selama 7 tahun dimana ia memulai dan menuntaskan hafalan Al-Qurannya. Sejatinya ia baru memulai menghafal Al-Qur'an pada usia 9 tahun dan menuntaskan hafalannya dalam 3 tahun, alias menjadi hafiz pada usia 12 tahun (catat! 12 tahun!). Ia melatih hafalannya itu di bawah bimbingan Syekh Qari Zahid dan Qari Abid. Sekarang sambil sekolah, ia juga mengajar Al Qur'an dan menjadi ketua remaja mesjid Shaykh Yasir Birjas di Dallas, Texas. Itu di Amerika, bagaimana dengan kita? di negara INDONESIA yang mayoritas adalah umat Islam. Bacaan Al Quran oleh: Fatih Seferagic - Surah Al Fatihah & Surah Ar Rahman pada 2 Julai 2013 di Masjid Al Falah, USJ 9, Subang Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan, Malaysia.
Siapa yang tidak terkesan dengan remaja sholeh nan tampan ini. Masih muda, 17 tahun, hafal Qur'an lagi.
Suara Fatih ini merdunya hampir sama dengan Mishari Rasheed, mendengarkan alunan tilawah Fatih, membuat kita bergetar dan semakin merasakan bahwa begitu indahnya Firman Allah.
Generasi muda Indonesia (sebagian) yang sekarang terkenal dengan remaja hura-hura, Perokok, pergaulan bebas, pecandu narkoba dan sejenisnya.
Ini akibat mengidolakan sosok figur yang kebanyakan melakukan hal-hal yang tidak baik, sehingga tidak sedikit dari mereka yang akhirnya ikut mencontohnya.
Fatih Seferagic bisa menjadi satu figur alternatif remaja yang layak dicontoh oleh generasi muda indonesia. Untuk itu, mungkin diperlukan lagi berita tentang dia dan terus dibagikan ke remaja seluruh dunia terutama Indonesia. Syukur-syukur kalau bisa menghadirkan sosoknya ke sini.
Pemuda Hafiz Qur'an, bersuara indah dan tampan pula itu tinggal dan menetap di Amerika Serikat.
Di negara sekuler dan bebas seperti Amerika yang dipenuhi kehidupan hedonitas ini bukan menjadi alasan baginya untuk tidak menghafal AL-Qur'an.
Remaja berkebangsaan Bosnia yang lahir di Stuttgart, Jerman dan sekarang tinggal di Texas AS ini, tinggal di Arizona selama 3-4 tahun sebelum menetap di Baltimore, Maryland selama 7 tahun dimana ia memulai dan menuntaskan hafalan Al-Qurannya.
Sejatinya ia baru memulai menghafal Al-Qur'an pada usia 9 tahun dan menuntaskan hafalannya dalam 3 tahun, alias menjadi hafiz pada usia 12 tahun (catat! 12 tahun!).
Ia melatih hafalannya itu di bawah bimbingan Syekh Qari Zahid dan Qari Abid. Sekarang sambil sekolah, ia juga mengajar Al Qur'an dan menjadi ketua remaja mesjid Shaykh Yasir Birjas di Dallas, Texas.
Itu di Amerika, bagaimana dengan kita?
di negara INDONESIA yang mayoritas adalah umat Islam. Sudah hafal berapa juz? dan Sudah berapa ayat yang kita hafal hari ini?

Eminönü Eminönü is a former district of Istanbul in Turkey, now a neighbourhood of Fatih district. This is the heart of the walled city of Constantine, the focus of a history of incredible richness. Eminönü covers roughly the area on which the ancient Byzantium was built. The Galata Bridge crosses the Golden Horn into Eminönü and the mouth of the Bosphorus opens into the Marmara Sea. And up on the hill stands Topkapı Palace, the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) and Hagia Sophia (Aya Sofya). Thus Eminönü is the main tourist destination in Istanbul. It was a part of the Fatih district until 1928, which covered the whole peninsular area (the old Stamboul) within the Roman city walls - that area which was formerly the Byzantine capital Constantinople. Since the resident population of Eminönü is low today, it rejoined the Fatih district in 2009. Eminönü today Although the government has moved to Ankara and Istanbul has expanded to become an enormous city with the centre of business in huge shiny buildings elsewhere, Eminönü is still buzzing with activity. It has the busiest ferry crossings for the Bosphorus and for the Marmara Sea, the only car ferry across the Bosphorus and the only mainline railway terminus (where trains can be caught to Eastern Thrace (Trakya) and Europe). People keep streaming into the area on boats, buses, trains and the light metro from Aksaray. During the daytime the area is packed with merchants and their customers, hordes of shoppers and many tourists. Add to this a number of key government buildings including the governor's office and the main campus of Istanbul University in Beyazıt. At night it is a quiet place. There is some housing in Eminönü but most of the buildings are offices, shops and workshops, and if one does happen to be there in the evening the contrast with the daytime is eerie and somewhat menacing. Every day roughly two million people work in or pass through Eminönü, but the district has only 30,000 residents. The people that do live in Eminönü are mainly working class and conservative. Eminönü has many historical mosques and buildings, many of Istanbul's best-known landmarks. Recent development has improved Eminönü greatly and many of its winding streets which can at first seem imposing, have been developed and improved, while Eminönü has started to repair the many mosques. Sultanahmet - which contains Topkapı Palace, Aya Sofia, the Blue Mosque and Aya Irini among about a thousand other incredible pieces of architecture. Süleymaniye - the huge mosque complex of Suleyman the Magnificent; Yeni Cami (The new mosque) - the mosque that dominates the waterfront by the Galata Bridge; there is a wide open space in front where people feed the pigeons. The Grand Bazaar - as much to look at as to shop in. The Spice Bazaar - another Ottoman caravanserai, not as huge as the Grand Bazaar but right on the water, next to Yeni Camii; Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque - in Kadirga District (the Byzantine Sophianòn Limin in Greek). Constructed in 1524, the building was formerly the palace of Pargalı Ibrahim Pasha, who was the second grand vizier to Suleiman the Magnificent, and husband of the Sultan's sister, Hatice Sultan. The collection includes notable examples of Islamic calligraphy, tiles, and rugs as well as ethnographic displays on various cultures in Turkey, particularly nomad groups. These displays recreate rooms or dwellings from different time periods and regions. This Ottoman palace on the western edge of the Hippodrome was built in 1524 for İbrahim Paşa, childhood friend, brother-in-law and grand vizier of Süleyman the Magnificent. Undergoing a major renovation at the time of research, it has a magnificent collection of artefacts, including exquisite examples of calligraphy and one of the world's most impressive collections of antique carpets. Born in Greece, İbrahim Paşa was captured in that country as a child and sold as a slave into the imperial household in İstanbul. He worked as a page in Topkapı, where he became friendly with Süleyman, who was the same age. When his friend became sultan, İbrahim was made in turn chief falconer, chief of the royal bedchamber and grand vizier. This palace was bestowed on him by Süleyman the year before he was given the hand of Süleyman’s sister, Hadice, in marriage. Alas, the fairy tale was not to last for poor İbrahim. His wealth, power and influence on the monarch became so great that others wishing to influence the sultan became envious, chief among them Süleyman’s powerful wife, Haseki Hürrem Sultan (Roxelana). After a rival accused İbrahim of disloyalty, Roxelana convinced her husband that İbrahim was a threat and Süleyman had him strangled in 1536. Artefacts in the museum’s collection date from the 8th and 9th centuries up to the 19th century. They include müknames (scrolls outlining an imperial decree) featuring the sultan’s tuğra (monogram); Iranian book binding from the Safavid period (1501–1786); and Holbein, Lotto, Konya, Uşhak, Iran and Caucasia carpets. -

In Leme, Copacabana, Arpoador, Ipanema, and Leblon, there's a popular way of "riding" the waves called pegar jacaré (pe-GAHR zha-kah-REH; literally, "to grab an alligator"). You wait for the wave to come behind you then swim on top of it until it crumbles next to the sand. Commerce is common in Rio's beaches, with thousands of walking vendors selling everything from sun glasses or bikinis to fried shrimp to cooling beverages (try mate com limão, a local ice tea mixed with lemonade, or suco de laranja com cenoura, orange and carrot juice). For food, there is also empada (baked flour pastry filled with meat or cheese), sanduíche natural (cool sandwich with vegetables and mayo) and middle eastern food (Kibbehs and pastries). Vendors typically shout out loud what they're selling, but they won't usually bother you unless you call them. All along the beaches there are also permanent vendors who will sell you a beer and also rent you a beach chair and an umbrella for a few Reais. In 2014, it is listed No.1 among world's most-visited tourist attractions with 91,250,000 annual visitors.
The Grand Bazaar is located inside the walled city of Istanbul, in the district of Fatih and in the neighbourhood (mahalle) bearing the same name (Kapalıçarşı). It stretches roughly from west to east between the mosques of Beyazit and of Nuruosmaniye. The Bazaar can easily be reached from Sultanahmet and Sirkeci by trams (Beyazıt-Kapalıçarşı stop).

Eminönü is a former district of Istanbul in Turkey, now a neighbourhood of Fatih district. This is the heart of the walled city of Constantine, the focus of a history of incredible richness. Eminönü covers roughly the area on which the ancient Byzantium was built. The Galata Bridge crosses the Golden Horn into Eminönü and the mouth of the Bosphorus opens into the Marmara Sea. And up on the hill stands Topkapı Palace, the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) and Hagia Sophia (Aya Sofya). Thus Eminönü is the main tourist destination in Istanbul. It was a part of the Fatih district until 1928, which covered the whole peninsular area (the old Stamboul) within the Roman city walls - that area which was formerly the Byzantine capital Constantinople. Since the resident population of Eminönü is low today, it rejoined the Fatih district in 2009.

Although the government has moved to Ankara and Istanbul has expanded to become an enormous city with the centre of business in huge shiny buildings elsewhere, Eminönü is still buzzing with activity. It has the busiest ferry crossings for the Bosphorus and for the Marmara Sea, the only car ferry across the Bosphorus and the only mainline railway terminus (where trains can be caught to Eastern Thrace (Trakya) and Europe). People keep streaming into the area on boats, buses, trains and the light metro from Aksaray.
During the daytime the area is packed with merchants and their customers, hordes of shoppers and many tourists. Add to this a number of key government buildings including the governor's office and the main campus of Istanbul University in Beyazıt.
At night it is a quiet place. There is some housing in Eminönü but most of the buildings are offices, shops and workshops, and if one does happen to be there in the evening the contrast with the daytime is eerie and somewhat menacing. Every day roughly two million people work in or pass through Eminönü, but the district has only 30,000 residents. The people that do live in Eminönü are mainly working class and conservative.
Eminönü has many historical mosques and buildings, many of Istanbul's best-known landmarks. Recent development has improved Eminönü greatly and many of its winding streets which can at first seem imposing, have been developed and improved, while Eminönü has started to repair the many mosques.
Sultanahmet - which contains Topkapı Palace, Aya Sofia, the Blue Mosque and Aya Irini among about a thousand other incredible pieces of architecture.
Süleymaniye - the huge mosque complex of Suleyman the Magnificent;

The collection includes notable examples of Islamic calligraphy, tiles, and rugs as well as ethnographic displays on various cultures in Turkey, particularly nomad groups. These displays recreate rooms or dwellings from different time periods and regions.
This Ottoman palace on the western edge of the Hippodrome was built in 1524 for İbrahim Paşa, childhood friend, brother-in-law and grand vizier of Süleyman the Magnificent. Undergoing a major renovation at the time of research, it has a magnificent collection of artefacts, including exquisite examples of calligraphy and one of the world's most impressive collections of antique carpets.
Born in Greece, İbrahim Paşa was captured in that country as a child and sold as a slave into the imperial household in İstanbul. He worked as a page in Topkapı, where he became friendly with Süleyman, who was the same age. When his friend became sultan, İbrahim was made in turn chief falconer, chief of the royal bedchamber and grand vizier. This palace was bestowed on him by Süleyman the year before he was given the hand of Süleyman’s sister, Hadice, in marriage. Alas, the fairy tale was not to last for poor İbrahim. His wealth, power and influence on the monarch became so great that others wishing to influence the sultan became envious, chief among them Süleyman’s powerful wife, Haseki Hürrem Sultan (Roxelana). After a rival accused İbrahim of disloyalty, Roxelana convinced her husband that İbrahim was a threat and Süleyman had him strangled in 1536.
Artefacts in the museum’s collection date from the 8th and 9th centuries up to the 19th century. They include müknames (scrolls outlining an imperial decree) featuring the sultan’s tuğra (monogram); Iranian book binding from the Safavid period (1501–1786); and Holbein, Lotto, Konya, Uşhak, Iran and Caucasia carpets.

Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil, on the South Atlantic coast. Rio is famous for its breathtaking landscape, its laidback beach culture and its annual carnival.
The harbour of Rio de Janeiro is comprised of a unique entry from the ocean that makes it appear to be the mouth of a river. Additionally, the harbor is surrounded by spectacular geographic features including Sugar Loaf mountain at 395 meters (1,296 feet), Corcovado Peak at 704 meters (2,310 feet), and the hills of Tijuca at 1,021 meters (3,350 feet). These features work together to collectively make the harbor one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World .

Even the most seasoned tourist will find the beaches here quite amazing. They are wide and clean, with soft white sand. The main beaches from Leme to Barra have plenty of services for the beach goers, including free showers at the beach, wet trails to walk on cool sand, clean pay toilets, life-savers and police, tents and chairs for rent, soft drinks and alcoholic bars, food.
The beaches are from East to West (Downtown outwards):
Ramos (in-bay) - inappropriate for bathing
Flamengo (in-bay) - usually inappropriate for bathing
Botafogo (in-bay) - inappropriate for bathing
Urca (in-bay) - usually inappropriate for bathing
Vermelha (oceanic) - Mostly appropriate for bathing
Leme (oceanic)
Copacabana (oceanic)
Arpoador (oceanic)
Ipanema (oceanic)
Leblon (oceanic)
São Conrado (oceanic) - sometimes inappropriate for bathing
Barra da Tijuca (oceanic)
Recreio dos Bandeirantes (oceanic)

Abricó (oceanic, nudist beach)
Abricó is the only official nudist beach in the area of Rio de Janeiro, it lies next to Grumari beach. Only accessible by car/taxi. An option is taking the bus numbered S-20 (Recreio) that passes along Copacabana/Ipanema/Leblon, and from the end of the line (ponto final) take a cab, for a travel time of almost 2 hours.
It is also worth visiting the beaches in the island Paquetá, particularly:
Praia da Moreninha (on the Guanabara Bay, but often not clean enough for swimming)
Cariocas have a unique beach culture, with a code of customs which outlanders (even Brazilians from other cities) can misconstrue easily. Despite what many foreigners may believe, there are no topless beaches. Girls can wear tiny string bikinis (fio dental), but it doesn't mean they're exhibitionists. For most of them, it's highly offensive to stare. Until the 1990s, men and boys wore speedos, then wearing bermuda shorts or trunks became more common. Speedos ("sungas" in Portuguese) and square leg suits are now making a comeback. Jammers are less common but still accepted.
Waves in Rio vary from tiny and calm in the Guanabara bay beaches (Paquetá, Ramos, Flamengo, Botafogo, Urca) to high, surf-ideal waves in Recreio. In Leme, Copacabana, Arpoador, Ipanema, and Leblon, there's a popular way of "riding" the waves called pegar jacaré (pe-GAHR zha-kah-REH; literally, "to grab an alligator"). You wait for the wave to come behind you then swim on top of it until it crumbles next to the sand.
Commerce is common in Rio's beaches, with thousands of walking vendors selling everything from sun glasses or bikinis to fried shrimp to cooling beverages (try mate com limão, a local ice tea mixed with lemonade, or suco de laranja com cenoura, orange and carrot juice). For food, there is also empada (baked flour pastry filled with meat or cheese), sanduíche natural (cool sandwich with vegetables and mayo) and middle eastern food (Kibbehs and pastries). Vendors typically shout out loud what they're selling, but they won't usually bother you unless you call them. All along the beaches there are also permanent vendors who will sell you a beer and also rent you a beach chair and an umbrella for a few Reais.
The beaches in Barra and Recreio (Quebra-Mar, Pepê, Pontal, Prainha) were favored by surfers and hang-gliders until the 1980s, but now they are outnumbered by the middle-class and nouveau riche from the suburbs and also West Zone favela residents, such as now world-famous Cidade de Deus (City of God, made famous in the eponymous film).
