A lot can happen in a 12 hour shift for a member of the RCMP. Drugs, disturbances, and domestics are all a part of the job that never ends in Prince George. CKPG gained exclusive access to the world of crime prevention - and rode along as mounties patrolled the streets.

LSPD First Response 0.2 Beta: http://www.lcpdfr.com/lspdfr/
The LSPD First Response Modification (LSPDFR) is a police simulation modification (mod) for the PC version of Grand
Theft Auto V which transforms the game into a law enforcement simulation where you can conduct traffic stops, engage
in high speed pursuits, respond to callouts and enforce the law as you see fit.
The following are required to run the LCPDFR Modification:
• A genuine, working Microsoft Windows (PC) platform copy of Grand Theft Auto V.
• The RAGE Plugin Hook for GTA V, and its dependencies (all of which are included).
• Version 4.5 of Microsoft’s .Net Framework
LSPDFR heavily modifies the game far beyond its original purpose or scope. As such, it can conflict with the game
and cause occasional failures and errors. Such errors will not have any lasting effect on the modification or the game,
however they may result in crashes, freezes or the current session becoming unplayable. Note that LSPDFR does
not currently support any form of multiplayer gameplay.
The first public release of LSPDFR lays down a basic framework upon which the modification will be developed. Still,
it contains a number of interesting features - many of which will be easily recognizable by anyone who played its sister
modification, LCPDFR for GTA IV.

Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thanks to everyone who responded to our Action Camp and Chevron PTP update. It is becoming clear that the situation here is moving toward an escalation point.
Today at one o’clock a low flying helicopter flew over the ridge line and crossed the river a couple kilometers south of the bridge. It followed a route that corresponds to the path of the proposed PTP pipeline, then circled back and flew in a northern direction following the river toward Houston. They flew low enough to take photos of activity happening at bridge and our camp.
Our supporters maintaining an Unist’ot’en check point on Chisolm Rd were also visited and threatened by the police. Similar to their visit at the bridge two days ago, the officers asserted that they could be arrested for blocking a “public road”.
It is clear by the timing of these recent police actions that they are working in tandem with the pipeline companies. The head of the RCMP detachment in Houston clearly stated to Freda that they intend to “ensure the work crews can do their work safely.” We have made it clear to the police and industry that we are not blockading the road. We are establishing check-points on the boundaries of our unceded Unist’ot’en territories. People and companies who gain our consent are allowed to enter.
Many of you have visited our yintah (territory) and have experienced first-hand our critical infrastructure of water, salmon, berries and medicines. We are determined to protect this land for future generations, and in the process do our bit to shut down the toxic fossil fuel infrastructure that threatens all forms of living life on this planet.
At this time we would like to ask our supporters for the following things:
1) If you have been to our camp before and/or if you feel comfortable to put your self on the front-line to stand with us against Chevron, you can register here: http://www.jotform.ca/unistoten/actioncamp
2) If you are unable to assist in person but would like to send financial support to help us with equipment and operational costs, donations can be sent by email transfer to fhuson@gmail.com.
Or if you would like to donate online you could contribute to the Healing Centre fundraiser:
https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/axsMd/ab/24dGu0
Cheques can be made out to “Tse Wedi Elth”, 620 CN Station Rd, Smithers, BC, V0J 2N1.
3) You could organize solidarity actions where you live, either against Chevron directly or one of their investors.

At around 1am this morning Surrey RCMP responded to a break & enter in progress. Upon arrival a silver Honda Civic fled the scene and rammed a police vehicle to escape. Surrey RCMP pursued the vehicle as it got onto Highway 1 heading westbound. Officers reported speeds of 160kph as the vehicle tried to get away. The pursuit went through 6 municipalities until it ended in West Vancouver. West Vancouver Police were able to set up a spike belt on the highway which caused the tires on the stolen car to deflate and fall off. The vehicle eventually crashed into a barrier and two people were arrested near Westport Rd & Westhaven Rd in West Vancouver.

WARNING: The video above contains graphic content. Video of a police takedown in Maple Ridge is raising serious questions about one RCMP officer's conduct. John Daly reports.
Serious questions are being raised about the conduct of an RCMP officer in Maple Ridge after a takedown of a man was caught on tape.
While taking a walk with her child in a Maple Ridge park last week, a woman, who asked to be identified only as Megan, called police about a man she believed was intoxicated and sitting in a truck.
As an officer tried to keep him in place on the hood of the vehicle, the man seems to slouch away from the officer, who then aggressively sent the man to the ground.
“I believe that the officer was just throwing his weight around,” Megan said. “I don’t believe he did things how an officer should…there was no handcuffing, there [were] no threats. It was just sad to see it,” Megan said.
WATCH: Full video of the arrest
Ridge Meadows RCMP say all use of force situations are reviewed, and this one is currently under review.
“The circumstances dictated that the individual being dealt with by our members was, in fact, verbally and physically aggressive and the member did have to take appropriate action to gain control of the suspect,” Ridge Meadows RCMP Cpl. Brenda Winpenney said.
The officer continues on regular service and the man was not charged with a crime.

PLEASE READ ENTIRE STORY!
First let me say that Cumberland is a small village known worldwide for its biking and hiking trails. We have one hostel that is also a Bicycle Rental/Repair shop. On Saturday January 23rd 2016 at 11:00 am, a Bicycle RCMP officer made the 9 km ride out to our village from the Courtenay detachment where he saw a young boy on the sidewalk with his Bicycle in front of the repair store. This Business, among other local businesses, has a set of bicycle parking slots right on the sidewalk. The large officer started to yell at the boy making him angry asking for his name and that he also isn't wearing a helmet (I should say this Cop stands about 6' 2" and weighs around 240 lbs I would guess) so the kid says "I don't have to give you my name". Well the cop jumps on the boy and starts to bear hug him then takes him down to the ground while calling for backup as the boy is being assaulted he starts to yell and scream very loud so all the neighboring Business owners etc. start to come out to see what is going on. The older lady who owns a local hairdressing salon heard all this and knows the kid and his family so she runs out and starts yelling at the cop to leave the kid alone and to get off him because he was choking the kid and got quite angry. Well guess what, that RCMP just arrested (or handed a Promise to Appear) yesterday for obstruction of Justice. Yes I'm serious. This is a short clip sent to me by two different people who videoed it all but there are several credible witnesses who saw the entire incident. The Lady who was trying to “Protect” this child yelled for somebody to call his father and when the father came to the scene the lady went back to her shop because she had ran out and left it unattended etc.
The Village of Cumberland pays over $100,000.00 CAD per year for 16 hours per month for police of service from the RCMP.
I JUST found out that after the lady went back to her Business that one of the six RCMP cars that raced out to our village arrested the young boy for “Obstructing Police” and took him into town to jail!
This older lady did what any one in the human race should have instinctively done and “Protected our children”!
I’m not painting Cumberland as the perfect little town because we do get our share of little shit disturbers but it so happens that this young boy is NOT one of them.

— Anonymous (@YourAnonNews) July 18, 2015
The man killed by police was initially misidentified by police investigators as being related to a disturbance call inside of a public hearing, but police later admitted that these incidents were in no way related to one another.
This initial misinformation has led to accusations from Anonymous that police are in the initial phases of a cover up.
In a video appearing on Facebook, two officers are seen standing over a man with their guns drawn as the man lay on the ground, wearing a Guy Fawkes mask and a grey hoodie.
Police claim the man refused to drop a pocket knife. In the video, the officer appears to kick something away from the man’s body, although no object can be readily seen. In typical police fashion, officers can be seen handcuffing the victims body as he lay in a pool of blood.
According to a report by The Province:
Kellie Kilpatrick, spokeswoman for the police watchdog, the Independent Investigations Office, issued a clarification Friday night, saying that two men, not one as was initially reported, were involved in the incident that happened as a public hearing for the contentious Site C dam was taking place.
“Police arrive at the location and they come into contact with a second individual who is unrelated to the original complaint,” she said. “He is aggressive. He does not follow police commands and he is shot. He is transported to hospital but he does not survive.”
When asked by a reporter from The Province how this misidentification happened, Kilpatrick stated, “At this point I don’t have that information.”
She refused to name the victim or the name of the officers involved in the killing.

The news follows an announcement earlier in the day by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that they had arrested Chiheb Esseghaier, 30, and Raed Jaser, 35.
The two men are charged with "receiving support from al Qaeda elements in Iran" to carry out an attack and conspiring to murder people on a VIA railway train in the greater Toronto area, Assistant Police Commissioner James Malizia said.
The bomb was "unofficially" reported to have three times the explosive power as the Oklahoma City Federal Building Bomb in April, 1995.

A Canadian woman was taken to hospital on Sunday after scaling a barbed wire fence in an attempt to stop a plane she thought her husband was aboard.
At roughly 8.30 a.m. the woman approached the Nova Scotia airport’s ten foot tall barbed wire fence which is festooned with video cameras, infrared sensors and motion detectors.
The woman reportedly received minor injuries from climbing the fence, but that didn’t stop her from continuing on her quest.
Airport control tower officials spotted her immediately, and called airport security and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to remove her from the tarmac.
She did not come into contact with any airplanes, but a small plane taxiing nearby was rerouted as a precaution. Airport security held her until RCMP took over.
As it turns out, the woman’s husband was not at the airport, and she was taken to the hospital for assessment. An RCMP official said charges will probably not be laid, and an airport security official said they will look into whether any security measures need to be adjusted.

In June 2013, Alberta, Canada experienced heavy rainfall that triggered catastrophic flooding throughout much of
the southern half of the province along the Bow, Elbow, Highwood and Oldman rivers and tributaries. A dozen
municipalities declared local states of emergency on June 20 as water levels rose and numerous communities were
placed under evacuation orders. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police stated four people may have drowned near High
River. Two bodies have since been recovered with a third discovered, but unreachable. Over 100,000 people have
been displaced throughout the region.
Meteorology:
Situated east of the Canadian Rockies, southern Alberta is a semi-arid region that does not usually receive high
amounts of rainfall. A high-pressure system in northern Alberta drew a system of heavy rain into the province
from the south, causing rainfall amounts of over 100 millimetres (3.9 in) to fall in less than two days in many
regions of the province, particularly west and southwest of Calgary in the foothills and eastern slopes of the
Rockies. In Canmore, a town in Alberta's Rockies, over 220 millimetres (8.7 in) fell in 36 hours, nearly half of
the town's annual average rainfall. The accumulation of rainfall caused rivers to rise as the surge passed
downstream. At the peak of the flooding, the Bow and Elbow rivers were flowing through Calgary at three times
their peak levels from a 2005 flood that caused C$400 million in damages.
Impact:
In Calgary, Alberta's largest city, 75,000 people from 25 communities, primarily in the inner city, who live in
the vicinity of the Bow and Elbow rivers were ordered to evacuate their homes as the rivers spilled over their
banks and flooded several neighbourhoods, including the city's downtown core, causing officials to ask that the
350,000 people who work in the downtown stay home on June 21. All schools in both the public and Catholic school
districts were closed and officials urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel.
The city's primary arena, the Scotiabank Saddledome was among the facilities damaged as flood waters were
reported to have filled up to the first 10 rows of the lower seating bowl. The Calgary Stampede grounds adjacent
to the arena were also severely flooded, less than two weeks before the scheduled opening of the annual
exhibition and rodeo, however civic officials vowed the event would go on.
South of Calgary, the Town of High River was evacuated after flooding of the Highwood River caused water to rise
over the top of vehicles in the town's main streets and necessitated the rescue of over 150 people from the
rooftops of their homes. 350 Canadian Forces personnel and 80 Edmonton Police officers were dispatched to assist
with rescue efforts. The mountain towns of Banff and Canmore, west of Calgary, were cut off from neighbouring
communities after flooding and mudslides forced the closure of the Trans-Canada Highway. Several homes were swept
away in Canmore by the rise of Cougar Creek.
In addition to Calgary, High River and Canmore, nine other municipalities, including the City of Lethbridge; the
towns of Black Diamond, Cochrane, Sundre and Turner Valley; the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass; Rocky View
County; and the municipal districts of Bighorn No. 8 and Foothills No. 31, had declared states of emergency on
June 20 due to flooding and some communities had evacuated residents. Additionally, the City of Red Deer declared
a state of emergency over the potential of flooding ahead of a planned release of water from the Dickson Dam into
the Red Deer River."Local state of emergency issued for Red Deer". Edmonton Journal (Postmedia Network). June 20,
2013. Retrieved June 20, 2013. The City of Medicine Hat, located on the South Saskatchewan River downstream from
the confluence of the Bow and Oldman rivers, followed suit on June 21 by declaring its own local state of
emergency.

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) -- An Air Canada plane made a hard landing short of the runway at the Halifax airport during a snowstorm, crashing into a bank of antennas and shearing off its main landing gear, nose cone, and an engine as it skidded on its belly, officials said. The airline said Sunday that 25 people were taken to hospitals for observation and treatment of minor injuries. The airline said Flight AC624, an Airbus 320 that left Toronto late Saturday, had 133 passengers and five crew members. Air Canada said the aircraft landed in stormy conditions at 12:43 a.m. Sunday."They touched down 1,100 feet (330 meters) short of the runway so I'd say they're pretty lucky," Mike Cunningham, a regional manager for Canada's Transport Safety Board, told a news conference.Cunningham said the plane hit an antenna array, shearing the main landing gear off before sliding on its belly onto the runway for another 1,100 feet before coming to a stop. Cunningham said there was significant damage to the plane and could not rule out weather as a factor. He also said he believes a power line was severed, which led to a loss of power at the airport.Air Canada Chief Operating Officer Klaus Goersch said 25 people were taken to local hospitals and all but one of them were released."All of us at Air Canada are greatly relieved that there have been no critical injuries as a result of this incident," Goersch said. The Transportation Safety Board provided pictures that showed significant damage to the plane with the nose torn off and an engine crumpled under a damaged wing."This was not a hard landing. This was an actual crash," said Mike Magnus, a 60-year-old businessman who was sitting in the first row. "It was the closest I've ever came to death. There is no doubt in my mind. Obviously that's some political maneuvering."Magnus added that the snow covering the runway likely extinguished any sparks that might have caused the plane to catch fire.Power went off at the airport. Nova Scotia Power later tweeted that power had been restored. Cpl. Greg Church of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said a power line south of the runway was damaged. Halifax Stanfield International Airport spokesman Peter Spurway credited the crew and passengers for evacuating the plane within a minute."We just kicked the doors out and jumped onto the wing and then ran because we just wanted to get away from the airplane in case of explosions or anything," said Dominic Stettler, a father of three. Some passengers complained they were left standing on the tarmac, some in their stocking feet, for up to 50 minutes as they were lashed by wind-whipped snow before buses arrived."People were just happy to be alive but after a while it got tiresome having to wait outside in the freezing cold. I only had a golf shirt on," Magnus said.Spurway said the airport is reviewing its response. The Halifax region was under a snowfall warning, with an Environment Canada alert saying, "Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow." Goersch, Air Canada's chief operating officer, said the weather was appropriate for landing."It was safe to fly in this weather. The aircraft did circle for a period of time but when the approach was initiated, the weather was at the approach limits," Goersch told a news conference. "The weather was appropriate for landing."Randy Hall and his wife Lianne Clark were on their way home from a Mexican vacation when he said he believes the jet hit a power line before it landed hard on the runway. There were sparks but no fire, he said."We were just coming in to land and there was a big flash," said Hall. "The plane came down, bang! It jumped up in the air again."The aircraft skidded for a long time before coming to a stop, said Hall, who is retired. "We were sliding along on our belly. ... I was looking out and I saw the landing gear go and I saw an engine go."Flight tracking site Flightradar24 listed several cancelled flights at the airport Sunday morning.Follow us on Twitter @Local12 and LIKE us on Facebook for updates!

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- Five people died after a whale watching boat with 27 people on board sank off Vancouver Island on Sunday and one person remained missing, Canadian authorities said. The vessel made a mayday call late Sunday afternoon on what was a calm, clear and sunny day off the tourist community of Tofino, a popular destination for whale watchers on Canada's West Coast, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre said. Lt.-Cmdr Desmond James, a spokesman for the rescue agency staffed by Canadian military and Coast Guard personnel, said late Sunday that the agency's search concluded with five people dead, 21 rescued and one person missing. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police will take over the search for the person who remains missing. "As of right now the case has been turned over to the RCMP and it's a missing person file," he said. "Fortunately, we did manage to rescue 21 people." The boat, the 20-meter Leviathan II, was partially submerged 8 nautical miles (12 nautical kilometers) west of Tofino. Tofino's mayor described the town's mood as tense but commended residents for their quick aid in the rescue effort. "Everybody's heart is just breaking for what's going on here and wanting to be as helpful as possible," Josie Osborne said in a telephone interview late Sunday. Coast Guard vessels and search and rescue aircraft had searched into the night for survivors. Boats from the nearby Ahoushat First Nation arrived first on the scene, said aboriginal Councilor Tom Campbell. He was on the waterfront and watched as rescuers brought several survivors ashore. "Their looks tell the whole story," he said by phone from Tofino. "You can't describe looks on people that are lost. They look totally lost shocked and lost." John Forde, who runs The Whale Centre, another whale watching operation, responded to the call for help and was told the search was for four or five missing people. The ship that went down was operated by Jamie's Whaling Station, Forde said. He said he had no idea how it could've sunk. "Over the course of a season and years we take out thousands and thousands of people on these trips in conditions similar today," Forde said. "I have no idea what the issue was or what actually happened." Forde said Jamie's Whaling Station was one of the first of its kind off Vancouver Island and had been around for many years. Tofino fishing guide Lance Desilets said at least 12 rescue boats were already out on the water when he arrived on the scene after responding to the call for help. "I saw a lot of personal belongings, a long diesel slick and the top 10 feet of the Leviathan II sticking out of the water," Desilets said. "It's a sad day for our community." It wasn't the first fatality on the whale watching company's record. In 1998 one of its vessels capsized during an excursion, sending all four people on board into the water. The operator and a passenger died. On Sunday, five ambulances were dispatched and several off-duty paramedics went to the dock to help, said Jenn Hamilton, a spokeswoman for British Columbia Emergency Health Services. Many of the survivors were taken to Tofino General Hospital and some were already discharged Sunday night, said Valerie Wilson, a spokeswoman for the Vancouver Island Health Authority. Canada's Transportation Safety Board said it was investigating the boat's sinking. Joe Martin, a member of the Tal-o-qui-aht tribe, was near the dock when rescue boats went out. The ship was on the far side of Vargas Island in Clayoquot Sound, an area that Martin said can get really rough, but was not on Sunday. "It wasn't even blowing hard," he said. "This is the largest boat in Tofino and I was really surprised that it went down." ___ Associated Press Writer Rob Gillies contributed to this report from Toronto. [dt.]

The Changing the Guard ceremony on Parliament Hill is a colorful spectacle with music and one of the tourist attractions of Ottawa, Canada.
From late June to late August the parade takes place every day at 10:00 am in front of the parliament buildings. The Ceremonial Guard consists of two regiments, the Governor General's Foot Guards and the Canadian Grenadier Guards. The guards are mostly students, primary reservists in the Canadian Forces. The Changing of the Guard ceremony is the only replica of the ceremony at Buckingham Palace in North America.
As a non-Brit one is skeptically towards the spectacle. Only, when one is dealing with Canadian history, you realize that the British have won major battles against a numerically superior opponent and you can recognize the meaning of these parades. Reason for the military superiority was their discipline and exact implementation of what has been learned in exercises.

Five Britons were killed when a whale-watching boat sank off the coast of western Canada, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond has said.
The boat carrying 27 people sank near Tofino, a popular tourist area on Vancouver Island, on Sunday afternoon, killing a woman and four men.
Officials said 21 people had been rescued and one was still missing.
The cause of the accident remains unknown but sea conditions at the time of the incident were said to be calm.
Barbara McLintock from the British Columbia coroner's office, said the victims ranged in age from 18 to 76. Three were tourists on holiday from the UK, while two were British nationals living in Canada - one woman from British Columbia and a man from Ontario.
The boat, Leviathan II, made a mayday call before sinking about 8 miles (12km) west of Tofino.
A dive team from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are searching for the final missing person while Canada's Transportation Safety Board have begun an investigation in Tofino.
Mr Hammond said: "It is with deep sadness that I can confirm five British nationals have lost their lives when the whale watching boat they were on sank off Western Canada on Sunday.
"My thoughts are with the family and friends of all those affected by this terrible accident."
Mr Hammond said consular staff in the region were supporting the family members of those who had died and were in close contact with the Canadian authorities.
Within 30 minutes of the mayday call, a rescue helicopter and boat were on the scene. Other boats in the area also responded to the call for help.
Lieutenant Paul Trenholm, from the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in British Columbia, said people from the nearby indigenous First Nation villages had been first on the scene.
"Without the assistance of the First Nation community this could have been much worse," he said.
Eyewitness Alec Dick, from nearby Ahousaht First Nation, told Canada's Global News network: "They got swamped by a wave. It just flipped their boat completely. I've never seen, in my involvement with search and rescue, heard this happen before."
Tofino fishing guide Lance Desilets said at least 12 rescue boats were already out on the water when he arrived on the scene.
"I saw a lot of personal belongings, a long diesel slick and the top 10 feet of the Leviathan II sticking out of the water," he said. "It's a sad day for our community."
Canadian broadcaster CBC reported that because of the size of the boat passengers would not normally be requested to wear life jackets while on board.
'Thoughts and prayers'
The 20m (65ft) boat was operated by Jamie's Whaling Station and Adventure Centres.
In a statement on the company's website, owner Jamie Bray said: "It has been a tragic day. Our entire team is heartbroken over this incident.
"We are doing everything we can to assist our passengers and staff through this difficult time. We are co-operating with investigators to determine exactly what happened."
Another whale-watching boat operated by the same company capsized in 1998, killing two people, including the boat operator and a tourist from Germany.
The six-metre vessel was on a three-hour trip in the area of Plover Reef when it was hit by a large swell, throwing four people into the water.
Tofino is a popular destination for tourists wanting to spot humpback and Pacific Gray whales, and trips usually last up to three hours.
Mayor Josie Osborne said whale-watching was a core part of the tourism business in the small tight-knit community.
"My heart sank immediately upon hearing the news," she said.
"Everyone is just pulling together and grieving for this terrible tragedy."
Canadian Prime Minister-designate Justin Trudeau thanked all those who participated in the rescue effort and offered his condolences to the victims and their families.
"I know first-hand of this coastal area's natural beauty and the many people who visit here from all around the world," said Mr Trudeau, who won Canada's national elections last week.
"My thoughts and prayers are with the passengers, the crew, and their families at this most difficult time. We will continue to offer them support in the days ahead."
